  1. I'll hold my options open for the demo but, the number of units seems less than TOW 1 and still no mention of on map mortar teams. I had hoped for a expansion vs a stand alone game so number of units, and maps would be increased with each new release. Will Tow2 include a quick battle generator? Will maps and/or units from Tow be usable in Tow2?
  2. I didn't see any improvements to Quick Battles, Force Selection, map size vs force size in the Marines Expansion, is this correct?
  3. Huh, only one British Tank listed? Once again no mortars?
  4. So TOW2 is a stand only game and will add nothing to the existing install of Tow, correct?
  5. Sometimes the game hangs or crashes when loading a Quick Battle, it's most likely a bad QB map, I've download several. It sure would be nice to display the name of the map that's is being loaded, something to consider for the up coming expansion.
  6. Will the Marine Expansion address any of the issues of QB's? Such as allowing players selecting of different map size and different force size, expanded OOB that allows finer force selection (ability to select infantry at squad level and single vehicle selection, better balance of forces (no more 4 tanks vs 1 company of infantry).

  8. I've also had this happen when I had infantry trying to sneak up on the last remaining tank to take a shot, only to have them chicken out when getting to close! This went on for over an hour and had to quit the game!.
  9. I'm thinking of picking up SC2 during the summer sale, and want to know, are the SC2 mods on CMMODS compatible with latest expansion pack?
  10. Tow is best at small squad level battles, there is just no way to manage the number of squads in medium to large CC type battles. There just needs to be a better way to manage infantry ammo in Tow (stop shooting at tanks). Tow you manage men CC you manage squads
  11. I do hope the infantry model and ammo management is better in future Tow games.
  12. Well, this is getting off topic, but I don't think the infantry model in PC is as good yet as the early Combat Mission games and when I saw infantry squads all fall down like 10 little indians, that just killed it for me.
  13. Sorry, but for me Panzer Command isn't there yet! I don't like the 10 little indian infantry model. If the expansion doesn't expand the current Tow game, I think I'll just wait for Tow II.
  14. If it's a separate game, will the existing TOW be updated to add the new features such as infantry in buildings?
  15. The software should not let you uninstall without it being unlicensed first, it should be automated as part of the uninstall process! Is there any reason to uninstall the software yet keep the license installed?

  17. Ok, I think I need some better install instructions. Tow BFC version patched to 1.10.0.81. What I did: 1. Renamed directories AI to AI_bak and Missions to Missions_bak. 2. Copied the JSHv1.2.1_eng_full.exe to the Tow main directory and ran it. Problems: 1. No Campaigns show up? Missing campaign file in the mission directory, copied campaigns.xml from Missions_bak directory to Missions, fixed. 2. No infantry or crew show up in missions? Question: 1. Does the install/extract program over write any read only files during install? 2. There are two campaign.xml files (campaign.xml & campaign_extra.xml) under missions/single_missions/ directory, is this correct?
  18. Those were the best troops (highest leadership), the best left this is, it was a hard fought battle
  19. I don't want time limits, I want some sort of end of mission screen regardless of how a mission ends.
  20. Battle Generator Endings I like playing with quick battles but don't like the way they end. Some times battles can only be ended with the end button. If you use the end button you don't get any info, win/lost who killed what, etc. There needs to be a better way to handle a stalemate, give us an end screen with the info even win you use the end button. Examples: 1. I've have had several battles where no one has any more ammo, even after taking all of the weapons and ammo from the dead! 2. A small battle where each side has one tank and two infantry squads. I take out the enemy infantry but my tank gets taken out and every time I try to sneak up on the enemy tank for a Bazooka shot or grenade attack, my men panic and retreat before getting close enough to shoot. There is no way to end the mission other than the end button. I don't mind losing but after two hours of game play I want something more than just hit the end button.
  21. The Game Hangs but only with missions created with the Mission Generator? The missions start fine but several mins in, the game just hangs. No problem with campaigns. I'm using Tow Maps no mods. Even small simple missions (2 inf sqds. vs 4 inf sqds. with no support or reinforcements. I have the latest video drives and have re-install the game and the latest patch twice. Win XP pro spII 3GHz P4 1.5 GB Ram GF6800GS w/256 MB Anybody else seen this?
  22. I hope we see ammo & weapon carriers and allow vehicles to carry extra ammo and some small arms.
  23. CC never evolved beyond CC2/CC3 they got stuck in a rut, unable to change their ways, ran out of new ideas and reached their limitation of what they could do with real time combat! Your right that a good campaign system is hard to come bye, I still like CC2 and John Tiller's/Talonsoft/Matrix Campaign Series as the best yet, real or not. Campaigns are a better fit for operational vs. tactical games. Theatre of War had the right idea but is inconsistent with forces from mission to mission and not completely fleshed out. It's sad BattleFront can't come up with any new idea's in this area. So I guess we won't see or expect any type of campaign in future CM2 releases.
