Hi randall, I played Tacops 3,0 since 1998. I cant recall which human player it was but I beat someone that bad in PeterJohn. I had 0 losses (according to my pc)in that event,but a synchron bug hit us(early test for 4.0)my opponent said he knocked out 1(!) M1 Needless to say I was happy with that result

difficult point. but for me I think the two most important factors for red succes were: thinly deployed German troops,huge amount of troops available. So the solution to play CMBB wit those russian tactics is to play on big maps with small units and lots of turns This enables you to do a good fighting recon to examine enemy strength and overrun that weak point with all your troops so you can swarm out in the enemy rear area Henk

Hi Redwolf,that term tauchstellung is interesting. Now we use the Leo 2 in our army as the Germans,and they are equiped with special add on devices for the turrets to go under water. Could it be that that term is used for this device?

hi Randal, Indeed you are right on your comment about the AI. I would like to see an AI which is capable of playing blue or an editor to create my own battles. But like redwolf said we were more willing to have a (good)multiplayer version. Its better to play another human anyway than the AI. But what i meant to say was that its better to ask normal questions instead of using words as The AI Sucks. Language like that can scare new players off. Our community isnt as huge as the CM community but we are sure just as good and nice,and aswers asked here always get a reply fast. So be friendly and ask,and remember even critical questions will receive an answer. Henk

Specially our German friends,it would be a nice opportunity to have a mixed German/Dutch force and Dutch German commanders to play with Actually I maybe have a surprise,my Company commander might join us too,he is interested too. The AI sucks isnt a very good way of saying what you dont like. Please tell us what in general is wrong in your opinion aboutthe AI. Statements like these can harm a good game more than it does any good.

from what I found out it is very important the FO can see the area the spotting round falls in(if any is fired) look at the ammo level to see,ussually it will take 20 or 30 seconds for the barrage to fall,which is often in the next turn if you are lucky. Check if the fo can see the spot where the spotting round came down. If he cant see it than retarget.

next thing the major will say is......... that he will organize a cpx for us with the name black hawk down..... just wishfull thinking

Few weeks ago somebody on the tacops forum had a program too make 1 sec screenshots and glue them together to create a huge movie. This worked very well with Tacops,a 60 minute battle was just a few mb big. We tried it with CMBB too but than for a single one minute movie file it would take at least 8mb of web page space. A little too much,btw tacops now does feature such an item

well I have 20mb webpage space. Not enough for 3 minutes of moviefiles Thanks for testing and waisting your time for me. Its not a good solution. Lets hope somebody some day comes with a good program. On the other way ,are you planning to visit the coming cpx........??? grrrr,I ran some tests 150 mm FO (regular)on top of a hill. TRP and area command. TRP took 49 seconds with LOS 4 rounds all on target(100 meters,no spot round) Area command,took 3 minutes for normal and 4 minutes for radio FO. Both got 2 spot rounds out befor FFE. 1 FO had both rounds near the target area,adjusted once at the same spot,next barrage in a 200 meter diameter from the target area. The other adjusted twice(radio)100 meters to left and 100 meters to the right from original target area. Spot rounds kept falling far away from the target area as the FFe did. I ran both tests 3 times,still the same results The normal FO has a good ability to get FFE on target with adjustments at the same target spot,the radio Fo had a lot of near misses with the furthest rounds falling 600 meters from the targetarea. So my conclusion is to adjust only on the same spot and not to use radio FO's Maybe the experience I had was pure bad luck. Henk

do you want to try to make screenshots every one second of a cmbb file? I am very curious to see if that can work say 10 or 20 seconds to see what it looks like? henk
