  1. Hello GSX: I think the first picture in the Sticky: Shoot-n-Scoot thread illustrates what you are looking for. I would set the pause to only ten seconds to minimze exposure as much as possible, and if they can, get your infantry to put suppressive fire on that team the same time your tank makes it's move.
  2. I'm completely new to the SC franchise, with SCPT being my first title. I'd be interested in a PBEM game with someone who wouldn't mind playing a nugget - preferably one of the smaller campaigns. Side doesn't matter. Meat on the table for you... sabot underscore up at telus dot net
  3. The LAV-25 AT uses the same armored erector/launcher as the M901 “Hammerhead” (on the M113 chassis). It fires the same TOW (Tube launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided) ATGM as the M2/3 Bradley. The launcher is always depicted in the erected position in CMSF (just as the Bradley’s launcher box is always in the firing position). It is made to fold down against the hull to make a smaller profile and for travel. It is also able to tilt so the gunner can reload the two tubes without exposing himself outside the armor. The erected launcher allows the vehicle to fire from a hull-down position. The TOW missile must be fired and guided from the halt and it is relatively slow flying, taking many seconds (not sure of the exact figure, but it’s awhile) to reach its max range of 3750 meters. It takes about five minutes to reload the launcher, during which time the vehicle is helpless. Visibility under armor is limited, with the targeting optics located in the launcher. The vehicle is best used from a complete hull-down position with a covered route out to another firing position if possible. It’s not an easy weapon to use in real life, never mind the game…I would never fire more than one round from any one position before moving. Popping smoke doesn’t hurt either.
  4. The 25mm chaingun on the Bradley can fire a depleted uranium sabot round (the M919) that will penetrate roughly 66mm of solid steel armour @ 90 degrees from 1500m. The performance for the M791 APDS-T 25 mm round is roughly 48mm for the same armour, angle, and distance. The APDS round fired by the 30mm 2A42 gun will penetrate 25mm of solid steel plate at 30 degrees at 1500m (31mm estimated for 90 degrees)
  5. I never used HD either - it didn't work and I could never trust it.
  6. I give it 8.5 out of 10. The Scenario/Map Editor also kicks butt, especially the "contour line" elevation feature...
  7. As mentioned elsewhere by others, the meat of the game is on the battlefield, with formations and C2, not Wal-Mart style unit purchasing, where you'll take one of those, one of those, and two of those.
  8. The CM WEGO system is just realtime with "enforced" pauses, so it's all good...
  9. I like the unit selection just as it is - it's quick, easy, and maintains formation integrity...don't mess with it.
  10. Although I've played wargames for decades, I seldom ever play online - mainly because nine out of ten experiences have been unpleasant ones, for reasons already stated by others. No, the AI experience is not as fun or as challenging as against another human. I look for games that have editors that allow map making or scenario creation, in order to get more mileage out of them, since MP isn't doing it for me.
  11. 25/100. Wonderful graphics, but that's about it. Not worth spending the money on at this current state of development... PT Barnum was right, and yes, I was one of those.
