  1. I have seen the add for HMS Prisons in the underground in 1992. So it is an old problem.
  2. I have a feeling close combat 2 was better. But new features in CC4 are nice. I also don't like the ugly maps. Yes they are realistic but they are so ugly
  3. Democracy? Remember that Naziz won the elections and then basically outlawed democracy. So 51% can be very bad. Another interesting quote: Democracy is a tyranny of the minority. Some one mentioned GOLD demo? When? Where? Please?
  4. OK. But you can push each other forward and backward? Right?
  5. One more thing. And this one is quite important (at least to me) Is the operation strictly linear? For example if I push the enemy out map1 then the next battle will be on map 2. But Can the enemy push me back to map1?
  6. What is the maximum number of days/battles? Can it be 100? Can you move a crew to another tank?
  7. Couple of questions: 1) Will the units that survive a battle be automatically transfered to the next battle? 2) Will the tanks/unit be upgraded like in CC? 3) If you have just a tank crew will you be able to refit them with another tank? 4) Will you be able to "purchase" units like in CC3?
  8. Next 4 GAMES! Wow ! So what are the plans for these 4 games. I know next one is east front - then what?
  9. What we need is for the CM to save remaining units after the battle so we can add them to the new scenario. What would be great is if we could start scenario with line like this: "gameExec -ScenarioFileName -UnitsFileName" Why this change would be a great help to us? Because it would greatly simplify creating battles automatically by code.

  13. My 2 cents: Make it real time! But allow me to slow down the game. For 2 players - let them agree on speed setting before the game
  14. Kurskaja Duga. For you guys it is known as Prokhorovka ridge. 700 German and 750 russian tanks lost (or is memory failing me) Yes I know this is really CM2 scenario... Thats what I really want to see - a large tank battle.
  15. To me it sounds like match made in heaven in the late war. Perfect for defence and bugging out...
  16. What realy annoyed me was that people kept complaining about JagdTigers not being able to destroy Sherman after repeatedly hitting its side. (small distance) At the same time another sherman showed up and nailed JagdTiger in one shot firing at its front armor.
  17. When I mentioned that attacker should be able to have more troops then just 15 the MAdBunny replied: (I quote) "How about less!" That just plain rude. On the other hand BTS was very friendly so far. It is braindead to force only one BG to enter the map.
  18. Did those ever existed? Seems like a good combination of mobility and firepower. Was it even possible to put 88 onto the halftruck or was it too large/heavy?
  19. I think that some of the reasons shown above by BTS (like simplified balistics) are only due to CPU speed. Common guys as a software engineers you know it will be possible in 2 years! As for frantically clicking on units. How about being able to slow game down. I don't like playing chess. (I used to be a champion at under 7 year-old level) I would like a smooth (maybe be slow) flowing game but I hate planing every move. Replays are not a problem if game is designed properly.

  21. If you guys want realism so much why are you against real time battles? I just don't get it! Battles are thought in real time! No one freezes every minute until both commanders finish giving their orders. This is the least realistic part of CM! I believe it is a worth while feature. In real battle you cannot give commands to everyone every minute. Too many things are happening. Will the game become somewhat a click fest? Well maybe... But if we could unrealistically slow down time then it will be OK. Besides why not? I am sure there can be 2 modes in the game. Stop every minute and run continuosly.
  22. Well - I always thought that the reason for finally breaching the enemy lines was that tanks were introduced. And it was not the infantry that broke the lines. Please correct me because my knowledge might be incomplete. I can tell you that I have no military experience at all but with fully automatic paintball gun I can shout 10 people in under 20 seconds. (if they are running toward me) Is that a realistic in the real war? I don't know. My feeling is that in the open field the infantry is just a MG fodder, different story in the forest, buildings and other places with a lot of places to hide. In the enviroment where infantry can get close to tanks annoticed the tanks are in trouble. That why in the open field Tank is the way to go but infantry is needed for house to house fighting. And tanks are just an artilery support in the city. I might be totally wrong so please educate me !
  23. So you guys are saying that MG fire is less effective then it was supposed to be... It worked well in WWI. Now I am not saying you guys are wrong but why was it so effective in WWI ? (I just want to know...) Do you guys have some real statistics about MG fire effect? What do these numbers say? I know that MG run out of ammo quickly...
