quote:
Originally posted by The_Capt: Not a good idea and a really good waste of everybody's time.

oups sorry, excuse me sir, I'll shut up the next time, sorry. But,(if I may...) there wad a lot of battle with "pre-placed demo charges". If this stuff is VERY expensive, so it should be very rare. Sorry again -
CM2 and Blowing up bridges. May be an idea...

shameless bump -
Hi, On one side, we have people who would like to be able to destroy bridges with demo charges. Yeah, it would be funn  On the other side, BTS say that it isn't realistic at all. 30-45 min isn't enough to prepare the charges to destroy a bridge or a building. That's sade but right. But may be (just excuse me if this topic was discussed before ) we could have a special TRP with a special assigned FO to modelize the charges placed before the game starts. The TRP would be for only ONE 'big boom' wich will always explose ON (not near)the TRP but only if the special FO (max 100 meters away from the TRP) has a clear los to hit and did have not move since the set up phase. Pretty cool no?

Hi wargamers ! I think some soviet tanks had a rear mg on the turret. Was it a common feature or just a rare option ? Which crew member was in charge of this MG ? Thanks in advance

Looking for a town/city scenario...

Well, we have a guy on appui-feu who made a precise map of warsaw center for an operation. The map is superb but needs BIG cpu !!! -
Kyro-II and CMBO fix for graphical text errors

Tiger, You save my life ! I love you  But, how or where do you find these stuffs ? Just perfom some test... The game seems runing well now but I still have two little problems. 1 - all explosions look like airburst explosions. I don't have any explosion on the ground 2 - when I look at a vehicule or a tree in front of a transparent building, this vehicule or this tree is transparent too  (same problem as slider) [ 06-10-2001: Message edited by: Xavier ] [ 06-10-2001: Message edited by: Xavier ] -

August Bank holiday historical outcome
Xavier replied to Kwacker's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
This scenario is very instructive... You really discover some new tactics. I've great success with tanks pack while lonely ambushed "marauders" were often spotted and destroyed before they can act... When you play a scenario like this one all QB seems annoying ! -
Again with the 'Mapper's Friend'...

I was using Magua buildings... I'll send you the map when I'll be back home... This one is from a historical campagne of 4 scenarios... I would like to finish it in july. After the french version, I'll certainly make an english one . -

Great idea ! You want a bunker with a turret ? or a concrete mg nest in the entrance of a fort? Have a look on these pics from my Cherbourg Map it works very well !!! For the turreted bunker: place a bunker in the same place of a H39 tank in open ground. Then you come back to the map editor and you change the open ground tile for a terrain wich is not allowed for vehicles. This is necessary if you don't want to see your tank moving . For the MG nest. Place a bunker on a bridge (or under I don't remember ) It's very difficult to destroy and so it's very lethal... -
There is a pretty good scenario (not adapted from ASL) on http://appui-feu.panzershark.com but it's in french and not yet translated

Hi everybody Just curious: During wwII,did tankers sometimes use the coax MG(tracers) to help for aiming with the main armament (gun)? may be during night action, by instance? (Not sure about my english ) Thanks

sorry, this isjust a stupid test to see my member nbr -
Ksak's joke about the Maginot line is funny (and may be not so far from the truth ) but as usual I have some difficulties with M.Bates' pathetic sense of humor . I certainly have to improve my english...

1/ I feel so british 2/ I'm at work

Mmmm, may be french and latin people generally prefer to be with girls or women than playing like little children (my tank is better than yours, my father can beat your father and my country is the strongest
-
LOL I made the picture with the T34 in April 99'... The map is the LD map from the beta demo and the tank is stolen from SSI Panzer Commander . I think a monkey with a brush can do a better work. But true Mods makers can may be create today few mods for russian lend-lease tanks (Sherm or Churchill)...

Ok, Ok... I 've seen only three movies about the East Front("Cross of Iron", "Stalingrad" and "Stalingrad, Enemy At The Gate" . But it's enough to realize that BTS must modelize a new unit, the ultimate one: the VERY-COURAGEOUS-RUSSIAN-LITTLE-BOY-WHO-IS-FINALLY-CAPTURED-BY-THE-GERMANS. According to these 3 movies, this unit seems pretty common. So we must have it in CM2 !

Canadian Scenarios and Operations
Xavier replied to Shadow 1st Hussars's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
My main source is the book of Dominique Barbe:"Charnwood, la bataille de Buron St Contest". I don't remember very well but I think the nebelwerfers fire on the canadians in the middle of the day. I must also change some little things in the briefings (to explain why there is a panther with a disabled gun and so, and so...) -

Yeah, it'me (but it's a secret )I think "Ein Wurfelspiel" is quite better that "Charnwood". I'm going to try your "BBII" as soon as possible. -
