  1. Hello, Actually there are 3 briefings in CM (general, allied side and axis side). May be it would be a good idea to include a debriefing (i.e a little text) which could explain the historical result of a designed battle whith the aar screen. Thank you
  2. It's so good to start a new day with a bump
  3. Most of historical scenarios are semi-historical in fact. For me a true historical scenario is scenario which simulate a real situation with an accurate OB and an accurate map. That'as all the difference by instance between "The wrong Hill" by WWB and "Worthington Force" (on the scenario depot). The two scenarios are about the same battle: KG Wunsche counter-attack at hill 140. The second one (WF) is very accurate in term of OB and map. I didn't tell "The wrong hill" is a bad scenario but the map isn't accurate and the ob is fantasy (spoiler alert !!!! ! ! ! ! WWB is nearly using more puma in its historical scenario than the german 'd built in reality and no there was no hetzer in this battle or even in all the normandy theatre. No hurt here, I know the long time big job WWB has done for our wargaming experience but I'm always a little disappointed to play an "historical" scenario which in fact isn't I really enjoy Moon, MacAuliffe, Franko or Joël Montagu (and others) historical scenarios. They manage to create really good scenarios which are often very well researched and documented...
  4. I agree... A balanced battle can't be realistic
  5. Thank for that:) I also think there was some Achilles in late june 44 mixed with wolwerines...
  6. I think the TD on the pic is an Achilles: look the counter-weight on the gun, the muzzle brake or the stuff behind the turret...
  7. Hi, in CM the Achilles TD is available only from January 45. But, I found this picture in a History book ("Les panzers dans la bataille de Normandie"-ed Heimdal) The legend says:"A destroyed tank destoyer (unidentified unit) in the Villers-Bocage sector is examined by an officer of a panzer regiment (probably Pz.Rgt.3, 2.Pz.Div.)... So, when did the Achilles start his carreer? Anyone? Thank you...
  8. Check:  http://www.geocities.com/coolcolj/CM_Photos.html (Coolcolj is the author of the great Linx Mod.) Pleaaaaase:)!!!
  9. Salut Sat' Serait-il possible d'avoir l'inscription "Hotchkiss" sur le devant du char pour un rendu encore plus réaliste? (Translation for whose who don't speak frogish: Is it possible to have the "Hotchkiss" inscription in front of the H39?) Cf le lien ci-dessous: http://www.panzernet.com/articulos/selfb38hfp/selfb38hfp.html
  10. I'm actually designing an accurate map of Vire area in Normandy and I find the CM engine quite a little weak to modelize some hills  , even with 'map contour' option on 5 meters... And I'm talking about Normandy wich isn't known to be a particular mountainous area!
  11. Yes Great site, but still a lot of "work in grogress"(hep, I mean "progress" )
  12. Thank you very much, your informations are very useful !
  13. Hello, I would like to know if this unit had in July 44 only Chuchill MkVII or a mix of MKVI, MKVII and MKVIII? Thanks in advance:)
  14. Thank you for all these precious informaions:)
  15. Exactly the info I was looking for
  16. Hello, I have several question about this weapon (basically a sdkfz251/1 with 6 rocket launchers). 1/ Was it an infantry weapon (I mean like a mounted weapon on a APC) or a part of artillery units ? 2/ How common was this weapon? 3/ Is there any unit equipped whith these weapon in Normandy? Thanks:)
  17. You must be joking... I find CMBO manual very clear and very complete. But may be I just received the edition manual for NSCFG...
  18. give a try to "Premier sang" (first blood). http://appui-feu.panzershark.com/pages/Scenarios_english.html It's quite a good one:)!
  19. I have very good time with "August Bank hollyday" and "La Gleize"... I know "South of sword" is very popular but I try to play twice this battle in pbem and it was each time very borring  . The map looks like a generated one and the oob is pure fantasy... The historical label doesn't suit to this scenario. It's just funny to see the difference in all our taste;)
  20. May be a nazi gardener association or some flower power stuff...
  21. Hello, I read somewhere on the internet that the Kv2 Tank couldn't turn its heavy turret if it was not on a flat ground. May be just a little thing to remember before coding the beast Thank you
