  1. I like TTRL even if it's not a pure war movie. I find the approach is original. There are some good unusual themes in this movie like fear before attack, post fight trauma... Saving Private Ryan is funny, very hollywood. But for me all that is after the landing scene(the better war scene I think) is not always very serious.It's more something like "the seven mercenaries in normandy". 1/Sorry there is no sheep in normandy(yes,the movie was filmed in Irland where the extra are less expensive!). 2/No Tiger were engaged in the first days of D-day because german HQG still thought it was a diversion. 3/why CM doesn't modelize these famous common weapon like the explosive socks or the mortar shell uses as a grenades ? 4/The progression of german soldiers in the town is all but realistic: two columns, 2 meters between each guy... But I agree SPRyan is a great movie, a great show.
  2. SS_Pz leader I didn't want to be discourteous. My english is not perfect. I find all BTS work on CM is fantastic and I like very much TGN site too. So I'm very confuse if I made someone an offense.Appologize,enschuldigen,excusez moi... Some people seem to be more royalist than the king himself.That's not my case, if I think something could be better, I tell it. I just wanted to say that west european towns are not like north american towns. In most villages, it was very difficult for the big tanks to manoeuvre. But it's often a known recurrent problem in wargames.It's the same thing for the church, it's not looking very european.(But I agree it's a detail)... You ask me what I have done... Nothing of course but I would enjoy to do something or help even if my science of WW2 is not encyclopedic. Oh,I do only one little thing; I just tell all my friend who enjoy wargaming to have a look on this site ,to download the beta version and to order the game
  3. A scenario in Paris... Cool... I hope not with too many 90° streets I'm a little afraid of european street design in CM. I've seen the Private Ryan scenario on TGN (Air attack section).The Town is awful !!! I'm not talking about buildings textures which are ok for me. But the streets design is american style and don't look very european...

  5. Is there a way to use this order during turn? Actually I can: Wait(+15s.,+30s.,...)and move... But I want (by instance): move,wait,move... Is it Possible ? It seems AI can...
  6. On the screenshots on TGN, it seems that all AT/Howitzer guns have the same look. Is there a generic picture for these weapons? Another question: Is gun shield ,on big AT or german inf gun, modelled ?
  7. It seems that BTS will not include Avre and Brummbar in CM1. I'm so sad If possible I prefer waiting one month more the final release and have these funny toys in the game. Or may be it would be cool if BTS give us our toys later as "patchable units"...
  8. I have noticed this PBEM problem. Someone told me this bug have been noticed (and resolved?). It seems to occur only if you save the file during the turn you are giving your orders. I think that the best thing to do is playing you turn without saving. Sometime my game freezes too but I don't know why. I these cases I must restart my computer to play again...

I Know codes for CM are may be fixed now but I think buildings aren't enough strong.Less than six 75mm rounds for the small ones and less than 12 rounds for the bigger ones are sufficient to collapse the buildind (and to do major damage to inside units...) So it's easy when you have tanks to level a village without any risk. When playing CE by instance I consider myself that buildings (even the church) are deadful place for infantry units. According to me it is not looking historicaly correct. Towns or village in Europe were levelled only because of heavy bombardment (like Caen or Le Havre)... I would prefer, for the future versions of CM, less fragile buildings and a random destruction. Anyway, BTS really made a fantastic product...

  11. During a CE scenario I wanted too try a new tactic but it curiously failed I have pushed a wrecked Stug with another one so I thought I was using the wrecked assault gun as a shield. The second Stug (the pusher) was exactly behind the wrecked one but after about twenty meters of moving my pusher suffered a front hull hit from a sherman... Can Somebody explain what's wrong with this tactic ? Are wrecked tanks just ghosts ?
  12. Yes right, Usually the resistance is very different the eastern definition of partisans and the scale of action is different too. But some resistance units engage the german sometimes with thousands men as in the Vercors or in Britany in august44 or even during the liberation of Paris.It's may be a drop of water in the sea of all allied military actions but according too me it could have been in CM scope...
  13. Are partisans (french resistance by instance) modelled in cm ? In 1944, they fight many time with allied troops or alone against occupation forces.
  14. I like playing any side. I think I prefer german (more funny toys...)but it's not always true. I don't like playing with big game (kingtiger, jagdpanther, jagdtiger). These weapons are too powerful in term on game balance. I prefer playing with a few tanks, not too strong. It's off topic but I think I prefer any side on east front in 1941 with these strange soviet tanks like the T35 (5 turrets !)or the fast BT series. I like french in 1940 too because it's a challenge (not so bad armor but poor organization or morale)...
  15. Hi and excuse my english. This is my first post.CM is a very great game . I'm actually playing PBEM CE scenario.I've noticed two strange things (may be there are known bug, if any, sorry for this message). With a stug I'm firing on the second floor of a building and I have no los (because there is a little hill between my stug and the building)on the first floor, but I can see the explosions of my rounds at ground level ? And these explosions seem to be lethal to infantry in the building... I 've noticed too that when I save my turn a lot of time, the sequential organization of PBEM is disturbed which allows me to see the video JUST after I give my orders (so I can restart my turn if necessary before sending the file to the other opponent)... Is somebody seeing the same thing ???
