  1. WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Great update!!!! Uniforms change to reflect the time period?!?!?! I really like the 3rd pic of the Hetzer!!!! Just look at that detail!!!!!! I CANT WAIT ANY LONGER!!!!!!!
  2. Since the gold demo will have an earlier build then the final product, I was wondering if BTS could release some notes here as to some of the differences in the gold demo and final product.(I know...I know...Textures...but anything else?)
  3. B17 II will show the actual holes from the bullets and flak. You can even see through the bigger ones!!!!! The futur looks bright!
  4. Where is it??? Fionn....did you get the package yet??? We are crawling through a desert here and you have a tall cold ice water to help us along!
  5. I THINK.....repeat...THINK it's a bug. It has been reported already. In fact, I think the same thing happened to Fionn in an AAR.
  6. One thing that I just cant figure out is why the Allies didn't use smoke on D-Day to block the German LOS. I just finished reading "Beyond The Beachhead" but I have wondered this for a long time. After the first wave went in the Allies knew about the stong fields of fire for the enemy. The Allies had naval gunfire to use (plenty of smoke). The troops had to cross 700 yards of open beach just to get to the seawall. Why not just absolutly saturate the beach with smoke? Let the Allies at least find thier way to the seawall and beyond. I know there would be mass confussion but there was that anyway! At least when the smoke cleared some of the Allies would find themselves in some good cover. Replys?
  7. Just a quick question fellas. I know the nature and design philosophy of Combat Mission is to sort of "abstract" the squads to a certain degree. I understand that this is required and such due to time and hardware issues. What I am wondering is when a unit panics, is it because the MAJORITY of the squad members paniced? Are we to believe that everybody in a 12 man rifle squad panics at the same time? I know that panic does spread but......please. So are we to believe that when a unit panics it is because MOST of the men have indeed paniced? In that case will there still be shots fired from that unit to reflect the more "level-headed" men of the squad holding it together and fighting? hehe...these are the things I think about late at night as I wait for the game...or at least the next AAR!!!!!!!
  8. The EXACT same thing happened to me Black Sabot! I dont think there is a Jumbo in that scenario but an American tank made it through the town (ducking many schreck and faust attacks) to run in reverse up the hill and park in the corner. I thought it was doing this to lend fire support from the hill to the advancing troops but it never fired. I **** a brick when it broke through my lines because I thought it would raise hell but it didnt. I hope this has been fixed. (I'm sure it has).
  9. Shut Down This Thread....PLEASE.
  10. Good Suggestion.............Too Late. The game is done. Maybe patch or CM2.
  11. Thank God!.... It's almost been 20 minutes since I last heard that name!
  12. Nice pointers.... The one I would really stress is the C&C. I find that my units perform MUCH better when in the radius of a HQ team. Not only at the start of a game but all the way through the counter-attack and beyond. Keeping units together is a skill that pays off! Also....on a quibbling note....the BAR had a 20-round clip. From what I read, the boys went through em FAST!
  13. Althought units do indeed have a better field of fire from the second level of a structure, I find that they also draw much more fire to themselves (this is not good when there are enemy tanks). I almost never put my anti-tank teams in the second level like I did with the CC series (top-down advantage).
  14. Another week!?!?!? ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! Fed-Ex that sucker so we can get our fix!!!!!
  15. Fionn?????? Any idea as to when your new match is going to start? How about the situation? Will it be an attack, defence, meeting....what?? I must admit that I really enjoy your AAR's (nice kiss eh?) and the Alpha Battle Classic is what hooked me to CM. The ONLY way I will be able to make it to the end of May is a good printed out AAR!
  16. Thats right Johan....tap dance on the minefield............
  17. LATE MAY????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For the release?????????????!!!!!!!! Good GOD!!!!!!
  18. Yes!!!!....BTS handed out free samples (LD, CE, ect....) "Give them to your friends" they said! Now I am curled up on the floor willing to sell my body for some more CM!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I just wish they would realease this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  20. I saw em MaddMatt!!! Good god she was OUTSTANDING!
  21. The more I think about it the more I doubt there was any cut footage like that. Would'nt it have made it on the DVD like the Das Boot footage???
  22. Anyway to get the cut footage?????????
  23. I know many of you flame Saving Private Ryan for several historical and technical mistakes but I hold it as one of the more dramatic and visually stimulating movies of WWII. I have often wondered why a particular sceane in the movie always "WOW"ed me so much and now I think I figured it out. I am talking about the part when the squad is walking through the field and the halftrack (251??) surprises them. The amazing thing is that, without EVER cutting to a different camera (which tells me that they got it all in one long take), the halftrack is scouting the field, the first (missed) bazooka shot, the second (hit) bazooka shot (with impressive pyros), the halftrack comming to a halt (knocked out), the short firefight on one flank, and the final firefight on the other flank. Then Capt. Miller meets the bazooka team! All in one long take with tons of action! This really impressed me because of the continuity factor. For those of you with the movie on tape or DVD you can confirm this yourself. Nice work.
