  2. I was thinking about the operations that CM will allow us to have (several battles with a shifting front line on one large map or several small sections of map)and I came up with a question. Will building damage be carried over from one battle to the next? Not only destroyed buildings (rubble) but say I pumped 8 or 9 HE shells into a building in one battle but not enough to turn it into rubble, in th next battle will that building "remember" that it is about 1 HE shell away from collapsing? (GOD I CANT WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!)
  3. Yup....I have noticed the same thing. I almost want the Germans to get it together sooner so as to become more of a challenge.
  4. I have a question about the Beta demo tac-AI. I the LD battle I usually put my Tiger on the hill to the German left flank so as to slug it out with the Hellcats when they arrive. As you know, at this range the Hellcats 76mm shells mostly bounce off the Tigers thick hide while the Tiger tries to pick off the Hellcats (I'm not too impressed with the 88's accuracy compared to the Hellcats but thats another thread). My question is: If the Hellcats know that they really cant penetrate the Tiger at this range, why does the Tac AI stay on the hill and duke it out instead of popping smoke or using the Hellcats speed to close the range? I remember you said that the whole AI has been reworked after the Beta demo. You probably already fixed this.
  5. WOW.........I have to say that I was'nt going to download the SPR sounds but I just got kinda bored of the three demos I thought I would give the new sound a try. GREAT WORK !!!!!! It is a whole new game!!! I LOVE THE M-1 SOUND!!!! When you get an entire platoon firing at the same time with all the M-1 sound effects it is a RUSH!!! and the MG sounds from the D-Day scene are perfect. I am having trouble hearing the BAR...could you give me the WAV number so I can listen to it? Keep up the good work COOLCOLJ. I am sorry I didnt try it before!

  7. The CC series may not be that realistic but it is far from crap. I had a BLAST with CC2. Many, many, many nights were lost to playing a friend on the zone in CC2.
  8. True.....but what if I want to throw an HE shell into thier face?
  9. It seems to me that when tanks fire at someone in a building on the upper level, they always seem to hit the first level. Is this just a graphical representation or a bug? Are tank shells not able to hit the upper level of a structure? Just curious.
  10. I have to agree. This sounds like a GREAT idea. It would capture the benefits of the wheatfield perfectly.
  11. About the Neuberwafeereflken....... I have seen it come out of the STUG twice in one game during an infantry assault. I am very sure of this because it suprised me and I watched it 20 times or so. The STUG's do have them in the Beta-Demo

  14. What are those little icons in the Company Commanders Squad info window at the bottom of the screen? I know that these are bonuses of being a commander team but what exactly does the HEART, BOLT, STAR, and QUESTION MARK represent? Thanks, James
  15. As we get closer and closer to the release of this outstanding sim I have to take a pause and think of the thousands and thousands of DIFFERENT battles that will be fought out in the future. It almost makes me a little sad that the good old LD will probably never br touched by most of us again after the final release. Never will so many virtual commanders play and replay and test and sit in wonder and amazment at one battle. Like a canteen of water to get us through the desert of time until that package arrives in the mail. I, myself, have loaded and reloaded that scenario so many times to test different attack methods I lost track of the time because I was so impressed by the way those halftracks raced around the flanks to unload a platoon of troops. Classic beta demo fellas.
  16. You know what pisses me off? People who think the whole movie stinks because they substituted P-51s for P-47s or that they used the wrong tactics by not clearing the buildings before sending a Tiger down the street. Chill out! It was an excellent movie that show just how horrible and violent D-Day and the whole war was. I have never seen a war movie that disturbed me until I saw Ryan.
  17. A search I did on this subject didn't quite answer my question. It was said before that tanks COULD throw a track just from driving fast and turning (I think under the search for breakdowns). It was also said that the Tiger was known for this and therefor had to be driven very carfully. Can armour throw tracks at random in the game and is this feature in the demo? I've never had it happen. Thanks
  18. Well 4KM X @ 2KM is still HUGE in my book. Like I said before...one of the things I am looking forwards to doing is getting from the rear to the front. Thanks guys and keep up the GREAT work! Lanzfeld
  19. I was sad to learn that the whole 5 KM map will not be made available to us during the battles. Just about 2 KM or so at a time. However, I was also told that you can still have recon elements move forward. It will just work in a different way. The map in the ALPHA BATTLE CLASSIC looked big. Anyone know who big it was??   20. DARN......5 KM map sounded too good to be true!!!! UUGGGG..... Let me ask this..... How big was the map in the ALPHA BATTLE CLASSIC at Sim HQ???? That seemed like a pretty big map.
  21. Since we brought it up........ What tank sim is better....Panzer Elite or Panzer Commander after patch? I dont have these but I think I would like one of em.....hmmmmm. Any ideas????
  22. The maps in the demo are about 1 KM long. Hey MOON......you said that the operation maps are 5KM X 3KM and the battle maps are smaller. I am a little confused. While playing an operation we will have access to the whole 5 KM X 3KM map during the fighting correct?? Or will the map be broken down into smaller 2.5 X 2.5 KM battles or something...I hope not!!! I am looking forward to BIG maps for setting up ambushes a few KMs down the road. Thanks
  23. That makes perfect sense to me about the time it takes to set up a gun. Many things in this sim sound just right. Am I correct in saying that the campaign maps will be about 5 KM long X 2.5 KM wide? Like I said before....this would just be perfect for having recon squads or halftracks try and sneak around the extream flanks and disrupt the rear. ddddddrrrrrooooooollllllllllllllll!!!!!!!!
  24. I love the idea of a HUGE map for a campaign game. I'm talking one that is 5 KM long so the batlle can shift to and fro. It would be great to get relief troops in the rear and have to get them to the front line over several turns or to get an AT gun and tow it to an ambush position for a later (much later) turn. This sounds GREAT!
