  9. You aint running away that easily, ya slacker! I got all sorts of stuff planed for you yet to do my pretty... Madmatt
  10. Try and play with sound disabled, does it still lock up? Madmatt
  11. I received the file and it crashed for me as well but on the surface the file doesn't *look* to be corrupted but only Charles has the means to analyze a save game and determine what the problem may be and I have forwarded it off to him for a looksy. Madmatt
  12. Since you have the CDV version you will need to contact their tech support directly. Their installers are different than what we use on our versions so I can't really help you on this one. Madmatt
  13. Just an added note. Any and all DAMAGE on the map is saved as well. So if on turn one of QB you notice that you really like the map, it's a good idea to go ahead and save it and put in somewhere safe, like the Quick Battle Map folder, BEFORE that 10,000 tube arty barrage comes in. 15. Ski Troops (like ATR's) were added pretty late in the devolopment of CMBB and even then required a good deal of coding time to get them to their current state. Our intent in including them was to give an advantage to units ON THE MOVE in conditions were normal ground troops walking would be at a severe penalty. As such, they can not hide until they take off their skis and this will most likely not change. I am aware of what that means to units on the defense and I will see what can be done, if anything to address that. Madmatt [ November 18, 2002, 01:14 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  16. On a unrelated topic, I will actually have a nice tasty CMHQ bone to lob your way hopefully by the end of the day. That should smooth over any ruffled feathers. Madmatt
  17. Well, it just goes to show how short some peoples memory is here. "A WARM GLASS OF SHUT THE HELL UP" was a an old Forum saying here much like oft-uttered "BTS Fix or do somefink". Its actually taken from the Adam Sandler movie Happy Gilmore and spoken by Ben Stiller. When used on the forum it was, i thought, meant to mean "just relax, we are on the case". Apparently that meaning has been lost or forgotten. Having said that, I would remind japinard that you received one (or was it two?) extra copies of CMBB which were we recently found out were a mistake but I never once asked you to send them back. You more than anyone else here should now how hard I work with customers to get to the bottom of stuff. A thick skin is a requirement here and you guys should know by now that repeatedly asking us something is NOT the way to get an answer. We said the patch will be done soon and we mean it. Its not like we are sitting around a table drinking and smoking and suddenly someone sits upright and yells" OH ****, WE FORGOT TO RELEASE THE PATCH!!!" No, we are working night and day to get this puppy done and out to you, the paying customers that are waiting for it. We know its got a lot of stuff in it and its kinda big (25 megs or so) but thats all just the support files and textures for the new vehicle models. The fact of the matter is that we want to ensure this patch is as stable as it can becuase quite honestly we don't want to spend much time continually patching CMBB. After 1.01 you will get probably one more patch maybe two and thats about it. It's time we set our sights once more on the future, a future we will be talking about more once the time is right. So, if anyone got their ego's bruised by my seemingly coarse answer they need to know that it was meant in a lighthearted way, a way in which I *thought* people would recognize. I probably should have thrown in a wink or two but that aint my style. Now, pretty please, with sugar on top, be patient and let me get back to work. 18. There are eight different versions of CMBB out there (due to the languages and the CDV ones) as such it takes more than a little time to test them all and coordinate the patches. So drink a nice warm glass of SHUT THE HELL UP and wait with all the others. The patch will get released when I say so. Madmatt
  19. Is one of you on the BFC version while the other is on the CDV version? If so we think there are some odd issues that can crop up in PBEM between the two versions which should be rectified in the upcoming 1.01 patch. Madmatt
  20. The file you sent me was the Axis AAR which indicates that he DID lose. You can test this by using -/+ to select units and it will only scroll through the Axis units. Did your opponent send you that file by chance? This can apparently sometimes occur between the CDV and BFC versions in PBEM. It should be rectified once all parties upgrade to 1.01 which will be released shortly. Madmatt [ November 17, 2002, 01:06 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  21. Guys! Grow the hell up! I see this crap posted again then I will ban the lot of you! Is that clear?!? ySince ou agreed to the rules when you login here than by god you can follow them. NO flames... NO abusive language... Keep the topics to issues pertaining to CM... Its that simple, follow or get the hell out. Madmatt
  22. Adjust the Direct3D settings, CM is not an OpenGl application....(yet). Madmatt
  23. 32 bit color more than likely. Pixel Shading, you'll have to wait and see. Madmatt
  24. Actually I just tested all the 40.xx and 41.xx series drivers and can still NOT recommend them for use. FSAA still appears to be buggy and you will not see text on the screen without first minimizing and maximizing the game. You can disable FSAA and the text will be properly displayed We have emailed Nvidia about this once more. We had hoped they would fix this before this release but they did not. FSAA should work in ALL MODES with the 30.82 or 30.87 series drivers. They do on my GeForce 3 ti500 Madmatt
