  1. I had problems with the 40.72 drivers and DirectX 8, the mouse was erratic with my Ti4600. Bumped up to DirectX 9 and the newest 41.09 drivers and so far so good. As always, YMMV.
  2. OK, this is directed more to the authors of CMBB than anyone else. Is it really necessary to have a CD check in CMBB? In CMBO one, although it was annoying, it allowed a partial install of the game on the HD. With CMBB, the game installs itself fully on the local hard drive and only checks the CD at the start, for no good reason. If the game is started without the CD in the drive, a message ,ala CMBO, appears stating you have to have done a full install (which has been done, as there is no other choice) but doesn't allow the game to run fully. If this is an attempt at copy protection, it is pointless, as these types of protection have been bypassed before. So, I hereby petition the authors to remove the CD check as part of the upcoming patch.
  3. A quick question; I am playing CMBB, and after playing CMBO the combat rules seemed to have changed drastically. Overall it seems more realistic, but one thing bothers me. I am playing a senario with a friend via e-mail and have seen the following in the game. T34s vs. PzIVs. T34 gets hit three times, reported as "Upper Turret Penatration" and is still firing back. Turret must look like swiss cheese. T34 gets hit three times, two "Lower Hull Penetration" and one "Upper Hull Penetration" and is still firing. Would think the crew would bail after the first round came in. This seems highly unlikely.. can anyone explain?
  4. Well, A friend and I are playing the demo scenarios though e-mail while we await the full version of the game. We are a bit into each and it seems that they very unbalanced. The Valley scenario heavily favors the dug-in defender and the Chance Encounter scenario favors the Allies,by numbers alone. After noticing this, I played the Chance encounter scenario, as Allied, by just throwing everything forward and won against the AI, handily, in about 16 of the allotted 40 turns. Has anyone figured a way to balance these, or in the full game what scenarios are truly balanced?
  5. I was wondering if someone can tell me if the CD for the game comes with both the Mac and PC versions on it. I have a PC at home and an iBook laptop, I would like to install on both machines, so I can play on the road. I e-mailed feedback@battlefront.com, but no response, so I am asking here. Thanks.
