  1. For the record, the only type of MP in T-72 that was offered was via LAN not the internet. True, MP stability even in LAN was rather suspect in that title and the developer was never able to get it working as intended. That's the #1 reason why I don't even list MP in the feature list for that game anymore. While some people were able to get it to work, it just wasn't ever reliable enough. Now as to TOW, I have been able to launch, host and play in all 8 of the MP missions in the relerase version of the game but we are aware that crashes and lockups are occuring far too frequently. In earlier pre-release versions we routinely played large 4-6 people MP matches with no lockups at all, but it appears that some bug was introduced in the MP code just before the game was approved for production. 1C has confirmed the bug and its one of the many things scheduled to be included in the first patch. 2. If you got the download version, you would not need the patch, your version is already patched. Just reinstall from the download file and you should be fine. Madmatt
  3. That actually would not make any difference. Its an earlier version true (by about a day or two), but not in a way that would have ANY performance differences at all. Madmatt
  4. Did the patch solve your problem? And can you clarify, were you getting that error when you tried to run the GAME or when you tried to run the Editor? I ask because that error has always been associated with launching the Editor, not the game itself normally. Madmatt
  5. if you don't mind, can you try and set your Windows Page (swap) file as mentioned in the troubleshooting guide? I want to see if your crashes may be related: http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html#pagefile Thanks! Madmatt
  6. Do you ever get into a battle itself or does it always crash before you get that far? You may want to look over the troubleshooting guide to optimize your swap file as well try some of the other "crash prevention" tweaks I listed. Here is a link to the guide: http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html Madmatt
  7. The fix for the upside down screen is documented in the troubleshooting guide located here: http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html Madmatt
  8. The DVD patch just ensures that the DVD version can play the download version in MP. In fact, to be honest, it might work without the patch, but we felt it better to be safe than sorry. The only other thing this DVD patch does is automatically copy two files into the MissionEditor folder to prevent that earlier "Wrong Application Version" error that some people reported from before. It does not fix any of the other reported bugs. Those fixes will need to wait for the official patch which is still being worked on and is *hoped* to be ready within a few weeks. Thats not a formal ETA by and means, but obviously we want to get it out as soon as we can, but these things do take time to implement, test and get fixed. Madmatt
  9. Not much to say except we are still working on it. By the way, we aren't JUST looking at AMD and low FPS issue but also Intel Multi-Core CPU's that sometimes do the same thing. Madmatt
  10. You can use the Editor and change MG-34 to a MG-42 at will. Madmatt
  11. The steps neccesary are listed in the Troubleshooting Guide actually. http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html Madmatt
  12. That is an incredibly good point...Yup.... Madmatt
  13. ShiftZ, send an email to elicense@battlefront.com with you full name and we can look up that info for you and resend it. Madmatt
  14. Destraex, I think you may want to look at this thread and post the info that SIo has requested if you can. Thanks! http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=66;t=000184 Madmatt
  15. Webwing, thats just it though. Several of our testers have GeForce cards (including my #1 tester Rune) and NONE OF THEM ever encountered these problems. In fact, in all my months and months of play testing, I can't ever recall the game crashing on me and have gotten consistently good performance even though my main gaming rig is below the suggested specs. They key thing to realize is that the problems being reported are more complex than they initially appear and would seem to point more to different configurations of hardware, software, drivers and settings causing conflict than just a simple "it won't work with my video card" type of deal. This is what we are working on and testing and trying to fix right now though. Madmatt
  16. Actually, there is a more comprehensive way, see below: 1) Backup the campaign.xml and texts.utf8 files in SINGLE_MISSIONS folder 2) Copy whatever campaign battles that you want to use into the SINGLE_MISSIONS folder. Copy the entire battle folder. For example: all of P001_Mokra for the first Polish battle. 3) Open the campaign.xml file in whatever folder that you got the campaign battles from. 4) Copy the info for the folders that you moved. Again, for P001_Mokra, that would be: </font><blockquote>code:</font><hr /><pre style="font-size:x-small; font-family: monospace;"><Mission> <Number>1</Number> <SID>P001</SID> <Name>P001_Mokra</Name> <Country>POL</Country> <Layer>P001_Mokra.mat</Layer> <Success>P002</Success> <Failed>P002</Failed> </Mission></pre>
  17. Actually, you can and here is how... 1) Backup the campaign.xml and texts.utf8 files in SINGLE_MISSIONS folder 2) Copy whatever campaign battles that you want to use into the SINGLE_MISSIONS folder. 18. Looks like I posted while everyone else was posting. Okay, downsizer, I am pleased that you are going to wait and see what the patch does for you, if in the meantime you want us to try and work with you right now, we will! I just need to know more about your specific problem and your hardware. Is it just slow performance? Are you getting any lockups? What game settings are you running, what drivers and most importantly what is your hardware configuration? I understand peoples frustration when they encounter a problem, TRUST ME I DO (I am a gamer too, if I wasn't I wouldn't do this for a living) but people sometimes have the tendency to yell out "Fault" when in reality we are urgently trying to help them get the ball back in play. Madmatt
  19. I think an upcoming announcement from us will soon light the fire under this idea of a new Mod & Editing forum. You'll see soon enough... Madmatt
  20. Okay, now is not the time for name calling, and I will not condone such behavior from either the original poster or in followup replies from others. As to your comments, we never said that a patch would be out "this, that or any specific week". We have repeated that we are working on the patch RIGHT NOW and will get it out to everyone as soon as we can. At this very moment, a game patch which aims to fix the problems being reported IS our path to customer satisfaction, the same path to which you alluded to above that we are not following. It does us no pleasure though to see you, a legitimate paying customer, having such problems with a game which has our name on it, and we do take the responsibility to our customers very seriously and will continue to try to help you, even though you seem to ignore my offer. Since I already stated all of this before, and your response was to once more post a litany of "why you feel cheated" instead of ANY information for me to help you with, I am not sure this is going to get either of us anywhere. I do find it interesting though that you have such strong feelings about our stated Sales Policy and yet you felt compelled to order anyway. I am sorry that you *FEEL* lied to, cheated or hoodwinked (and all of that without a single direct email to us too!), but I have no control over what you feel and can only continue to provide the level of service to our customers that I have for the last several years in my best capacity. I stated before what we need from you to try and help, you can either respond with the info requested and we can work on getting you fixed, or you can choose to ignore me like you have already done. Madmatt
  21. Hey guys, I am going to mention the issue about the AI not always using the correct weapon against armor threats to 1C. Yup, I noticed that too. They used to be great at it and I never had to order them to switch weapons, but for some reason, they arent as inclined to do so as they once were. Hopefully, it will not be a hard tweak to make. Madmatt
  22. Actually, its the other way around. Appears those screenshots were taken with an older version of the game that used to use colored bars to show infantry-crew health instead of the current text label system. Madmatt
  23. Yeah, it's on our list of stuff to fix in the first patch. Should be an easy correction to make. Madmatt
  24. While its meant for the full version, the troubleshooting guide should be able to help you with some settings to tweak that may enable the demo to launch properly. http://www.battlefront.com/products/tow/troubleshooting.html Madmatt
  25. We are playtesting some improvements to the MP code right now, hopefully, this will be included into the first game patch. As to the speed setting, we have found that making sure both the client and host use the same speed setting is very important. Basically, set it to lowest speed of anyone connecting. Madmatt
