  1. It's actaully not the modern way but pretty much how all software licenses work. If he wants to sell his DVD and license code, he is free to do so. One thing though, we only give support to people that buy directly from us, not from someone that bought their game/license from someone else. That means if you sell your license to someone else and then they have some kind of issue with the license (like they loose it and need us to look it up), we will only resend the code to the original owner, not the new guy. 2. We have discovered an issue for people that installed the game from DVD and then applied the patch. Those people are missing a single file that will keep the patched version of Theatre of War from properly launching. To fix this issue, simply rename the file called tow2.dll (located in the Theatre of War game directory) to elicen40.dll That should do it!

  4. I see the problem, you guys never installed the original DVD Compatability Patch did you? I will get this fixed, you just need a very small patch. Hang on and I will make a post about this issue and how to fix it. Madmatt
  5. Your not actually detroying the old one, rather you are creating a new one with the same name which is used instead (the old map is not directly affected) This is from the manual: 6. Saving a map and linking it up to a mission To save an edited map select the item Save map on the menu File. Changes you made will be saved to the folder Maps\<map name> of the game directory. To see the results of your work load any of missions that uses that map. You can create a new mission in the mission editor. If you need to restore the original map clear the folder Maps\<map_name>. So with some renaming of directories in the Map folder (when you want to play with a new one), you could have several versions of a modified map, as well as still have access to the original. Madmatt
  6. Not sure what version of CM you played, but all three CM games had hundreds of soldiers voices that played for both vehicles and troops. I know, I recorded them all! Madmatt
  7. I will ask 1C about this. I wasn't aware that this would occur, but I also didn't test with old save games so it may have been overlooked that this would occur. I am very sorry if that turns out to be the case. What I can do though, is get 1C to supply me with a "Campaigns All Done - Player Profile". They did this during testing. Basically, its just a save file from someone that already played all the campaign missions and therefore unlocks them all to choose from. You can also copy any campaign mission into the Single Battles folder and play them that way too... Madmatt [ June 26, 2007, 05:21 PM: Message edited by: Madmatt ]
  8. Zonn, we would be more than happy to help you get the game to work but I can't help you if you don't use the tools and contact info, in this case the support forum or email, that are available to you. Please post your full issue to the ToW Tech Support forum with your full system specs "CPU type and speed, Video card make and model, OS, memory amount" and as detailed description of whats occuring when you try and run the game as you can. So far, I have been able to get EVERYONE that contacted me and has ever had a problem running the game fixed, assuming their hardware was up to par. The people that couldn't run the game have by and large had video cards that were not supported (such as laptops with Intel 945 video chips). Madmatt
  9. No actually you didn't. What we banned was a few people that continually posted negative, unconstructive inflammatory comments over and over again with multiple accounts. Negative comments are fine, it helps us to focus our attention on issues that need to be fixed. Being negative soley for the purpose of being negative, or what I call "Being a dick!", isn't acceptable though. In addition, it was the fact that they were posting under several different names (which is a banable offense on this forum) that they were banned more so than what they said. Madmatt
  10. Paypal does not work well with our ordering system and also Paypal is far from perfect from the vendor point of view. Those are two really big reasons we don't offer Paypal support. If you have a valid debit card with the Visa or Master Card logo on it, they should also work. Madmatt
  11. This topic has no bearing on ToW as such, so I am locking it up. Suffice to say, there is no lawsuit and nothing to worry about with regards to the name. Madmatt
  12. I would also suggest that you download and try this out with the new patch. For those with the demo, an updated demo version will be released soon as well. Madmatt
  13. Hey guys, since many of you originally selected the "Use only One CPU" option in Theatre of War to make the game run better, remember to turn that setting OFF when you play with the new patch to see if you notice a difference in performance. One of the big changes in this patch is that it was compiled with some updated software that should better support multicore CPU's as well as those that support hyperthreading. We also included a version of the game that had all the other changes but had the cpu optimizations removed in case this new compiler version causes instability for some people. To run that version, doubleclick on the Tow_1.4.exe file. Madmatt
  14. T oanswer the question posed in the subject feild...YES, the v1.3.0.56 patch with Battle for Moscow Add-on is now out. Madmatt
  15. Hey GC, how have you been? 1C says they are working on implementing some type of CM'ish LOS tool. Thats on their "to do" list. A new demo is also planned in the near future but it will only have the same updates as this patch has althoguh that may be enough for it to start working properly on your system. Be sure to also check out my Troubleshooting Guide as it lists a lot of things that will increase stability. Basically the thing to remember is that this is just the FIRST patch for ToW, not the only one. Madmatt
