  1. Its probably better to think of the arcs as a way to get your infantry units to not fire at something. They are reluctant to disobey your arc order because the game assumes you are ordering fire discipline for an ambush.
  2. The last surviving A7V lives at the Queensland museum here in Brisbane after being taken back home as a trophy by the AIF. I might go get some photos one of these days.
  3. I don't think each grenade is too effective, but I also wonder whether the RAIN of grenades from a single unit is realistic. I guess if you are going to use them then you might as well use a lot of them. I think the small HE effects give pretty good results, despite the fudging for troop density.
  4. That's because the H2 hummer which you see everywhere is not the Military version, it is one of these:
  5. Cool. When the twins ended the act they were even more confused. I'd like to think I would spot those subtle differences but I bet the mind fools you into assumptions even when you are seeing the impossible.
  6. I loved Red Dawn as a kid, but rewatched it fairly recently and it was overlong and very cheesy in that 80s way. Still good memories though.
  7. There seems to be quite a few sequences of half a dozen crashes in exactly the same spot. The way the crowd was clapping it almost looks like the crashing was the objective and they are scored on points.
  8. The Georgian president weighed in and made a good comment, something like, "I'm not qualified to say what happened, call it driver error maybe, but we expect that in sport accidents people don't die." Seeing what really happened this is just a crime, that doesn't seem like a freak unpredictable accident, the exit to any corner should keep the luger in the track, and fricken steel posts lining the track on a fast corner?!
  9. I think a big part of the fun (and the reason MP is so fun) is that you are forced to deal with the consequences of your cock-ups. Reloading devalues the game so that the tension goes out of it. I will reload though if I do something that causes massive casualties early in the battle that I think "No real life commander would possibly be that stupid". Or something that I know has lost me the battle on turn 2.
  10. As long as the radar gun isn't hooked up to the recoilless gun. I wonder how long those guys waited for the streetview car in wetsuits and fins?
  11. hcrof, could you please post some top down maps so we can see where everything is?
  12. Why not provide some critical analysis yourself instead of parroting the first result in a google search? No offense intended but sometimes I wonder if you are a unique web-bot programmed to link google results and TV guide results by cropping keywords from a forum thread..
  13. I don't get it. The words are all scrambled and the cars are covered in some white substance.
  14. You know they don't need a magazine, they might individually reload each round.
  15. Yes you have it exactly right. The direct vehicle type pathing only works over open terrain too, so it is not eactly the same. Hopefully this can be improved.
  16. I'm pretty confident this time! Look at the light grilles in the bumper, and the curved wheel arches.
  17. Erm, it turns out it isn't... I believed the caption but it seems it is not correct. It's an RG-33 (but same thing really!). http://www.military-today.com/apc/rg33_mrap.htm
  18. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cougar_%28vehicle%29 From the caption of your photo:
  19. You can target the building from any waypoint that is in LOS to the building, they will start to throw grenades when they are in range AFAIK. I know it is not perfect in every situation, the range of building placemants and orientations on the action spot grid makes some doorways easier than others. Being aware of the action spot tiles and their LOS to the enemy when you are placing orders makes a difference. Avoid ones that hang out in the street if you can.
  20. 1. FACE orders at action spots effect the orientation against walls and corners within action spots even though there is no UI feedback to tell you this. 2. Every square that has a waypoint order on it will have your guys "regroup" on this spot. It is sometimes best to not put the waypoint right outside the door, and then into the building, instead try to place one waypoint inside the building and one in the closest "full cover" square. They should move directly from one to the other and not stop for a ciggie outside the building. This solution isn't perfect because sometimes it creates other pathfinding weirdness, but is a trick if you don't want your men haltinging in a a dangerous spot. I made a little training town map with buildings and walls aligned across the tiles in different ways and ran my dudes around to test what works.
  21. I'm not that familiar with it but I think the AI on qb maps is an art in itself. MarkEzra has put in a huge amount of work fixing old qb maps and adding new ones for CMSF, so that situation should be much improved. I'd expect the new game to be much better with these things out of the box than CMSF was.
  22. iirc you can try deleting the prefs file from the cmbb directory to reset the setting of the game resolution. If you want to keep you PBEM games (or any other scenarios or mods), just look in the folders in the CMBB directory and copy out the files to another location.
