I see, thx for the tip!!!

I use the default hotkeys and I'm very used to them. @Artkin may have some that work better. He should upload his hotkey file. Then you can compare the 2 and see if one works better for you than another. It may get confusing to you, as a new player, to hear a suggestion to change your hotkeys without a suggestion of what to alter them to. 🙂

Removed Z folder to desktop, removed v107.brz, reinstalled the update, still have the goofy unit descriptions like before.

    Anything else I'm missing?

    Nope. Thanks.

I'll keep you posted on what we find out. I'll get you a link to the v1.06 patch because you're gonna want that. Fortunately, as a Mac player this will mean almost nothing to you. The only Mac fix was a gun holster for some US crews.

Moved all the other stuff into Z folder, I removed the 107.brz, still see the whacky units:

I meant for you to remove ALL mods from the Data folder. I have seen mods do all manner of odd things over the years but the #1 thing I have seen them do is what you're seeing. Mods that were compatible with v1.05 or 1.06 may not be compatible with v1.07.

If you remove the mods and find that it clears things up, then reintroduce the mods a bit at a time until you trigger the naughty mod(s).

Installation MacOS 13.5.2 completed and while the game appears to run fine so far, in the editor the unit labels appear to have been corrupted.

That is, essentially, what our beta tester had. @kohlenklau is correct. That is usually a sign that a brz file is missing. There is a new brz file in the patch (cold war v107.brz). If you don't have it then that is your issue. Our tester does have the brz file.....We're still scratching our heads about what is going on with him.

Oh good to know - thanks for the save @BFCElvis

I do a lot of monkeying around with Steam while getting things set up. It hasn't been until a few months ago that it is easier to get to than I had been doing with Windows Explorer.

In Steam, selecting the game, Manage and Browse local files will open the Explorer window to the main directory. Making getting to Game Files even faster.

(Yes, being a developer gives me access to every Slitherine/Matrix game for free. 🙂 I didn't buy those other games)

HI.  I bought the game on steam and downloaded it but I don't see any "Incoming email" or "Outgoing email" folders to play PBEM.   Anyone know where they could be?  Is there a different process?  Thanks

For Steam they will be found in : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Combat Mission Red Thunder\Game Files

Unlike where the Battlefront version puts them in Ian's example above.

Having recently set up my new laptop, I totally agree.  I had to manually tell it to use the RTX 4060 for CM games, after which it has been absolutely fine.  It was very obviously not fine when using the Intel card...

I have to do it with mine as well. Sometimes after a Windows update it will revert. The most common issue is blurry text with the integrated cards. But I've also seen people not even being able to play the game.

In the meantime, I'll be perusing the CM2 tech support forum.

I've moved it to the Tech Support forum.

If you decide to get a new rig, good luck.

The integrated graphics bit only applies to laptops. For a desktop there shouldn't be an issue. Almost every laptop, even ones with AMD or NVidia  dedicated cards, have Intel integrated video cards. Laptops will often try to run the games on the Intel cards, rather than the dedicated cards to conserve power. Running the games on the Intel cards can be spotty at times. That's why I recommend to anyone getting a laptop (not you, Rob) that you get one with a dedicated video card.

Thanks, Elvis. I had the identical “corrupted scenario files” message when installing newly purchased and downloaded BFA last month. And importantly, GO EAGLES!
As a proud Oregonian, I had hopes for a Marcus Mariota revival, but that looks doubtful. However, Justin Herbert sure turned out well…and now we have Bo Nix. Most of all, I look forward to the Jalon Hurts Revenge Tour this season.

    Go Birds!!!

Thanks again and hope there are plans for another CM tournament in the near future!?!

Yes. We should be announcing a "Special" tournament in the next few days. The rounds will be shorter and we have a special twist in mind. The tournament is so ready that the rounds have been set up for a couple of weeks now. Slitherine's marketing guys are working on the announcement.

Congratulations to @MeatEtr for whoopin azz in another tournament. Good work commander!!

    Great job!!!! Congrats!!

I had three good tourney oppo and I appreciate all of them  but we do need a way to message during the game.

That would be nice but I think that it is going to need to happen outside the game. Perhaps the best thing to do is to try and communicate through the Matrix forum. Not everyone that joins a tournament is is registered on the Battlefront forum but ALL players are registered on the Matrix site.

Also, I've been working with the Matrix/Slitherine about trying to create friendly reminder "poke" emails to remind people that they'd signed up for the torunament.

@BFCElvis these tournaments are excellent!  Thank you for all your hard work

Thanks. I do think that we having the scoring down to somefink that is livable. The best would be if it pumped out realtime CM scores but the game wasn't built for that and too much would have to be rebuilt for it to happen.

I agree and think the tournaments are excellent too. The biggest drag is when people go MIA. When they don't it's good fun.

    @BFCElvis @Sunbather

So I bought the game and hoped for the best:

I installed the main game (v.1.01) and it says during the install that 2 files are corrupted:

"Ambush in the gully.btt" and "Desperate crossing.btt" are those files/scenarios. But there seem to be missing some more scenarios because in the overview it says

"15 standalone battles" but I only count 11. Guess I can get to the files via another player, no problem, but is there something you as Battlefront can do about it in the near future ?

Never the less my previously mentioned problem still persisted (Ver 1.01). So I installed Ver 1.02 and then 1.03 (don´t know if just the 1.03 would do).

And what can I say ? It runs now as fluid as any other CMx2 game, so thank you very much @BFCElvis. :D

Great news that things are running smoothly.

Yes, those are scenario files. I don't know how many scenarios, and which ones, should be with the game. Here is a screenshot of what is in my scenario folder. Check it against yours and, if you'd like, let me know which you don't have and I'll get them to you.

@Brille Thanks for describing the problem much better and much more succinct than I did!

@BFCElvis Thanks Elvis for clearing this up!

I can't swear that the full version will be better because I don't have the issue with either my full version or the demo. But it sure looks like it was an issue at one time that was addressed in a patch.
