  1. The issue discussed earlier in this thread about Armoured Assault should be fixed with the new patch 1.21.
  2. Yeah I'd prefer the WEGO option - give me time to weight up my tactics and options before comitting to a course of action - looks way to twitchy in RT for me.
  3. Hey Mord you are a fast mover mate Excellent work on these. Cheers fur noo George ps if you want any other stuff recorded just let me know.
  4. I did some X rated files when I was doing the voice stuff for the Brit module. There were vague plans about releasing an X Rated mod but I think they have not come to anything. I'm not going to mod em but I have the raw sound files if anyone else wants to turn em into a mod.
  5. I've got lot's of voice files with some rather shouty foul language - up for grabs if anyone wants em?
  6. Good luck and enjoy You might like to check this out: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/library/policy/army/fm/
  7. The scenarios typically have at least two differant AI Plans. This will not affect the enemy OOB, experience etc but it does affect how the enemy AI 'plays' the scenario i.e. how they attack, how they defend, differant fighting positions etc. As to whether the standalone scenarios in the Brit module (or any module) for that matter are harder than the campaigns ones that a matter for conjecture. In the campiagns your mistakes or cannyness in preceding actions have a direct bearing on your OOB for the following actions. With standalones you have what you are told you are going to get. Hope this helps
  8. Hi Phil He! Just clocked you're on the west coast - I'm up by Aviemore. Re your query about assets - these are allocated by the scenario designer but in the case of arty/mortar loadouts that will be handled by the campaign txt file. If I mind correctly (although not 100% sure) you can't carry the arty loadouts over to the next action. But to be totally sure I'd have to double check that one. Maybe someone knows for sure?
  9. Can't help with the specifics discussed above. Campaigns use a script that the campaign designer creates. It's a small txt file that defines the battle parameters such as ammo resupply, manpower replenishment, vehicle recovery etc. The actual victory conditions are set in the battle scenario editor by the battle designer (Mind a campaign is a series of scenarios that are tied together by this campiagn txt file and brought together in the scenario editor). This ties in with the campaign txt file in that where you go after playing that battle in the campaign is decided in the campaign txt file and again the designer can set this as they see fit e.g. to go onto the next action you have to get a major victory anything less would have you kicked out. So in theory you could 'win' a scenario only to find yourself booted out of the campiagn if that is how the campaign designer sets the conditons in the txt file. Likewise you could go onto the next action in the scenario if you get anything above a draw. As the core units are tracked then if you lose lot's of stuff you will find yourself at some point facing insurmountable odds and the scenario to all intents and purposes will be unwinnable. In any campaign force preservation is key. I guess the trick is to design scenarios that are still playable with a rediced force - that can mean if the player does well in earlier actions some scenarios can be walkovers as the scenario deisgner may have designed the action based on the fact that the player might not have done well before. Swings and roundabouts I guess Hope this helps. Cheers fur noo George
  10. Meant to add the drivers I am using with my Geforce 8800GT are the 6.14.11.6906 versions and I am running with 2GB RAM.
  11. I'm using a Nividia Geforce 8800GT and i've not experienced the issues you describe. Also running Windows XP Service Pack 3. Rest of my rig is no great shakes and I tend to design and play a lot of very large maps. Be interested to hear how ya get on though.
  12. In 'House to House' by David Bellavia (describing his experiences in Fallujah) he talks about his Bradleys 'prepping' houses with their cannons before they (the dismounts) went into clear them. Guess Fallujah was a war fighting operation so in that context targeting houses is OK - issue comes if you are fighting in areas where there are civilians in which case you might have ROE operating?
  13. I'm using it and it's great - makes keeping track of mods far easier Good work mate
  14. Most infantry carriers in WWII were open top so no need for fire ports. e.g. SPW Sdkfz 251 and the US M3. I'm hoping they'll add more code as I'd really love to re-do the blowtorch sereis for CMX2 - being able to use the RL tactcis would be superb! 1:1, oh man be still my beating heart
  15. Charles has had a look at Peter's save game file that Peter sent to me. Quote from Charles is - "It appears to happen at low frame rate when the ground mesh goes "low resolution". It's not really a bug." Cheers fur noo George
  16. Then when you have winter comes along with snow and sub zero temperatures you will not have vehcile access and poor weather would limit your ability to supply your base. I've a buddy who served out there in one of the provences commanding a district and saw a load of his err patrol photos (Red: bagging unclimbed peaks!). When they snow is down you basically have alpine mountains - like building a base on top of Longs Peak in Colorado or Mt Foraker in Alaska. Some of these mountains out there are pretty high. Hence I suspcet why many of the base are down in the avlley to make re-supply etc easier during the winter months.
  17. Posted the Armoured Assault file issue as a bug on the Beta forum.
  18. Can you email it to me please? georgemc at blowtorchscenarios dot com - many thanks
  19. Uploaded both Going to Town and USMC Going to Town. That's the two I designed but I don't have Smashing Metal I think that was another designer created that one. Still two out of three should keep ya going?

  22. Can you send me a file of a game you are playing with the FPS you see in it? I'm using a similar rig but with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800. Stuff like settings in game and graphics card settings can make some difference but if you send me a game you are getting low FPS in with what your in-game settings are I'll see what I get. Email addy is georgemc at blowtorchscenarios dot com Cheers fur noo George
