  3. Back in the CMBO days research turned up the fact that the British Bren gun was issued a tripod. The problem was no one could find anything that showed that they were ever actually used. The result was a raging debate about remaining true to the doctrinal description vs being true to what actually appeared on the battlefield. It has morphed into a running joke and strange sightings of the infernal things occasionally pop up in the strangest places. Kind of like PETA.
  4. You'll get nothing and like it.
  5. On a related note. I have had a Stryker get its tires wrecked. One seemed to be moving REALLY slow after taking some heavy MG fire. I thought it was a bug or something till I checked the damage display and saw that its wheels were almost destroyed. It made it through the entire battle, probably because it was too slow to make it to any fighting.
  6. But at least you get four humvees with out having to delete two entire battalions you purchased to get it. </font>
  7. Not that they actually supply anything, except 4 Humvees.
  8. To be honest I would love to see the M113 in the game. Lots of cool things you can do with it. LTC Marcone at Objective Peach said that the Republican Guards unit that counter-attacked them was using captured Kuwaiti M113's.
  9. Btw. Which units in CMSF do laze their targets? tanks, IFVs, infantry ATGMS, aircrafts? Will there be TacAI able to not to laze at T-90, even if lazing would be it's normal thing to do when engaging enemy. And under what circumstances would they not laze (not messing T-90 to T-72 forexample). Quite many armies are not expected to face Sthora in their travels (dunno is US army or marines one of them), so they leave this thing without notice in their battledrills, but atleast we had pretty strong emphasis during my service time in taking these activeprotection devices into count when working against tanks. </font>
  10. I am really getting tired of the "let's replace the Hummer with a track" debate. They were never designed to do the same job. The Hummer is a tactical vehicle that is also used in some combat ops. The M113 is a combat vehicle. I know, since M1's seem to stand up to attack the best why don't we just replace every vehicle in the military with M1's. We all know that the government doesn't have to worry about money they can just print more. Every man a tanker, that's my new motto.
  11. "All or Nothing" was my favorite scenario in both CMBO and CMAK (Kingfish's conversion). I don't recall having any trouble with the bridge except some isolated incidents of tanks falling off the bridge. I don't believe that water automatically went under a bridge because I remember someone using a bridge piece to simulate the Brandenberg Gate.
  12. Considering that the US no longer uses the last two you mentioned I wouldn't expect them.
  13. Especially since people are convinced that if an American soldier is killed in combat it is somehow against the natural order of the universe.
  14. The area was also heavily fortified by the Romans and Persians as they fought over the area.
  15. Aww man, I was hoping it was the one with the Storm Bolter.
  16. They were my first unit when I came in in '91. We were motorized then our full designation was 199 INF BDE (MOT)(SEP)(LIGHT ATTACK). We were the most parenthesised unit in the Army. They reflagged to 2ACR(L) and now are a Stryker Brigade in Vilseck.
  17. Didn't we establish this as fact a LONG time ago? (I kid because I love.)
  18. Then you could have your troops do something silly like chase T72s on foot. Oh wait, I did that. Not fun.
  19. All of the things you see there are made of papermache to save weight.
  20. In general yes you can only aquire ammo although the CLU for the Javelin is something you have to aquire as well. The ammo that you take out of the vehicle has nothing to do with the supply for the vehicle's weapons. While in real life you could do this, you can't in the game.
  21. Did you set the equipment level before or after you purchased the unit? If you set the level and then buy the unit it changes the weaponry. If you buy the unit and then select the equipment level it will give you whatever the level was set at but it won't work as well. For instance: If the equipment level was set at excellent before you purchased the unit and you purchase the unit you will get the AT14. If you then change the unit's equipment level it will make it a bad AT14. To be honest though, I really haven't seen any effect. I don't think anything jams right now. If you set the equipment level to poor and then purchase the unit it should give them a different missile, provided that is an option for that unit.
  22. The blog post forgot to mention the Mk19 equipped Hummers.
