Not to change the topic, but I also noticed in one of the Theatre of War website. There was a screenshot with a gunboat in it. Will there be boats, landing crafts or other things that float in the Theatre of War> john Osborne

As the discussion is about buildings. How many levels two or three? The reason asking is that I saw a building that looked like it was three floors, so can the troops occupy up to the third level, like a sniper or MG team? John Osborne

This is going to be cool, I take it that the ground forces could shoot down enemy aircraft? I have IL2 and I'm looking forward to the release of ToW. John Osborne

First congratulations BFC. Looking forward to getting ToW. Is the use of aircraft alot better then it was in any of the CM games? ie select targets, strafe runs. Looking at the fifth screenshot under the Game Features my jaw drop to the floor. John Osborne

Let's see if maybe I can give a rough sample of gameplay... you open up CMC and see an isometric strategic map. Looks a bit like the upcoming Strategic Command 2, really. Units are usually bigger formation like Companies or Battalions, and you move them around a map consisting of 2km by 2km "tiles" (which, for game purposes like LOS, command etc. are actually broken down into 1km by 1km quadrants). Gameplay is "We Go" using 60 *MINUTE* turns. When enemy units "meet", a CMBB battle is generated automatically. All the correct units (strength, morale etc.) are deployed automatically on a large 2km by 2km CMBB map in the correct positions. You play out the CMBB battle as usual, and the results are imported back into CMC... Make no mistake... even with CMC, large campaigns can take a very long time to play out. That's why anything about Divisional level is probably out of question to simulate... but then, *somebody* made To The Volga!, too... Martin </font>

Is there plans for it to be used with CMAK? I'm still shock because of the CMC to read all of the FAQs. JohnO

Stryker Brigade ToE and vehicle variants
JohnO replied to Abbott's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Will the ESV have rollers/blades mounted on the front to clear minefields/ fill in ditches? What about the Mortar Section, will they be able to dismount the 60mm from the vehicle. Yes I know that the mortar vehicles have 120mm mortars. And they carry the 60mm for dismount fighting. JohnO -

What do you "expect" CMx2 to be like?
JohnO replied to Cpl Steiner's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 1
Has anybody mention about "Scratch and Sniff" that will be shipped with CMx2. That way you can get the smell of actual combat -

Where can I find any scenarios that deals with the Salerno landing? JohnO
-
I know that this may not be the best place to post this. But I'm in the "Loser Finials" and would like to try another scenario to test my planning and tactics with the group 7 players if possibly, who I was with in the ROW V Tournament, but will try with another player from a different group. The scenario is "Cintheaux" it is a 60+ turn which I can send to you and I have made the map that you can print out to plan your attack and defend. I have not looked at the opposition force. I will be on the German side if it's ok with the opposing player. Please send an email if interested. josborne6@kc.rr.com JohnO

You guys made a good point. I do owe my opponent an AAR from my point of view. So that he can see why his planed work well. I just read Bigduke6 AARs an have gotten a good example on how it could be writen. In fact I told my opponent on Tiger Valley that "I" will write an AAR on that scenario. Haven't got in contact with the other opponents yet to let them know that I will write one on the other two scenarios. And to keep from beating on a dead horse with a stick I will end it here, on too the "Loser Finials" GaJ and Cpl Carrort, thanks for posting the AARs thier easy to locate and to download, good job!
