  1. I’m in, but as I haven’t played CMBB and CMAK for a long, long time and I’m reading up on German Squad and Panzer Tactics in WW2. What is a good scenario from CMBB and CMAK to practice up on Squad and Panzer tactics? Also what is a good scenario for practicing the use of artillery? JohnO
  2. As I patiently tap my fingers on my desk waiting for the signup for ROW V to start. Is it still going to be ready this weekend to signup? John
  3. MAGTF Semper Fi CPX The author of this scenario is Rikki Tikki who put a lot of work in it and was gracious enough to let me use it for this CPX. There are some small changes from the original scenario made to it. So you could say that from a movie production point of view. Rikki is the author and I'm the director. I'm looking for players and commanders for a CPX to be run on January 22, 2005 Background story line: On the morning of Sept 5, a small peaceful nation has just been invaded by an aggressive country from the north(OPFOR). The U.S., responding from the request from the host nation has sent the 26th MEU (SOC) to the area as the first step in liberating the region from OPFOR control. The MEU has been tasked with landing in OPFOR's rear and establishing a beachhead along the western coast of the invaded country as OPFOR's main forces are currently laying siege to the capital some 20 km south of the intended landing zone (LZ) in advance of heavier forces slated to arrive the following day. The current scenario plan will easily handle 5 players per side (one CO, 3 maneuvers, one fire support). List of players for the Jan 22, CPX as of Dec 7. James Sterrett - Red Ralf Pichocki - Red Gary Chilcote - Red Paul Csokay - Blue Fredrik Scheuer - Blue Hub - Blue Chaim Krause - Blue Corey Peltz - Blue Peter Maidhof - Blue (Planning only) Map: 502 Special CPX Edition (located at http://tacopshq.com/Maproom/index.html#anchor4833405 to be down loaded) Scenario: Custom Scenario USMC IRC server: schlepper.hanse.de, port 7024, default channel #tacops Backup IRC: www.combatmission.com, port 7000, default channel #tacops Start time: 1500GMT (0900 US Central) Please let me know if you intend to play ( josborne6@kc.rr.com ), so we can get the teams organized.

  8. On June 15th of 1941, British under General Wavell launched Operation Battleaxe and again fighting took place in Cyrenaica. At Halfaya Pass, which has been converted to defensive strongpoint, Hauptmann Wilhelm Bach and his group held his position, while Italian Division Trento held area Sollum-Capuzzo-Bardia under the command of 15th Panzer Division. Johannes Kümmel and 8th Panzer Regiment with some 80 tanks were in reserve between Bardia and Capuzzo. British moved towards Capuzzo and Sollum, while attacking Bardia with 50 tanks from 7th Armored Division. The attack was temporarily halted by a single 88mm gun, which destroyed three leading enemy tanks. The rest of British tanks halted their attack to regroup and attack again under cover of smoke. This delay allowed the 8th Panzer Regiment to reach the area of Capuzzo and attack the enemy with the 1st Panzer Battalion including Kümmel's company with two short-barrel Panzerkampfwagen IV tanks. They soon knocked-out one British Matilda II and reinforced by company's Panzerkampfwagen III tanks continued to fire at the enemy armor. Fierce tank battle resulted and Johannes Kümmel found himself in the center of it all. During the battle, panzer commanded by Oberleutnant Peters was hit and he called Kümmel to ask for covering fire, while leaving their panzer. Johannes Kümmel soon found himself firing at two enemy tanks, which kept firing to finish off Peters' panzer. He soon knocked them out and regrouped his company to attack British anti-tank positions. German panzer destroyed the enemy positions and the battle soon involved the entire 8th Panzer Regiment. Then, another group of 20 British Matilda IIs were spotted on the flank and regiment's commander Hans Cramer ordered Johannes Kümmel to attack the enemy and protect the flank. With half of his company including two Panzerkampfwagen IV tanks, Kümmel soon knocked out eight enemy tanks, putting an end to the British attack. British advance was halted but both sides suffered heavy losses. Following the action, on June 18th, Kümmel received his nickname - Der Löwe von Capuzzo (The Lion of Capuzzo) and his tank was decorated with the "roaring lion" by his fellow soldiers.

    New Scenarios

Hi John, Good idea about posting saved OOBs. Sarjen, How soon can we get the German OOB for a reinforced Mech Bn. Could you email it to me?
  10. Guys, Don’t’ get me wrong about the use and when to use the grid numbers. Yes they are important. Especially if you know how to give a grid. But, you have to understand using Battle Positions (BPs) is just as important as the grids. And lets not forget using Target Reference Points (TRPs) is just as important as grids. Again in the mist of a battle you’re not going to stop and start to read the grid. Especial if the CO is losing his eyesight and his reaction time has slowed down and the brainpower is reduced If you have BPs and/or TRPs PLOTED it will speed up the time it would take to call in fire mission and to give QUICK reports to the CO. AS the umpire you have the time to give grids to the Teams. I’m getting the feeling that some people think that using BPs, TRPs, and other Graphic control measures are not worth the use.
  11. ??Mr.Ex-Blue-CO??? You know something that I don't know
  12. Battle Positions that are numbered and perdetermined before a CPX on an overlay that is used by the team.
  13. I agree with James on that there has never been much of an oficial "Way to do it for TacOps CPXs" However knowing how to use a 6-digit grid system may be good. But my eyeballs are not as calibrated as they were use too. So what I use is BP locations to refer to places on the map for me and for the players without haveing to look at the grid lines. Red 6
  14. Hub, had to leave the CPX on the Blue side. So it will be up to Slaggg to let Jeff Gilbert join the Blue Team. It would put us back even with manpower with Red Team. Also hows it going James My Blue Intel people says that you are really planning hard on this battle againt the Blue Team:) They even say it is almost to the point of obsession Red 6
  15. For what its worth these days. I just checked my calender and checked with the little lady. So, Sign me up. Red CO ,Blue CO it don't matter to me. If I'm not a CO would like to play on the Red side. James, Redwolf I will play the whole entire game.
  16. As the Red Commander and I can speak for the Blue Commander. Please join in on this weekend mulitiplayer game. Newbies its not to late to get in on the fun of commanding your own units against another player. Were all here to have fun and don't worry about "I'm going to lose the battle" Who cares, we just want to have fun. As the Red Commander, I would give you an easy unit to control, like maybe recon or helicopters to control. Or if your ready a command of your own Battalion If you need any assistant in loging in to IRC or to the TacOps game itself. I will answer your questions and help in any way. I have all day today. Here is my email: josbornesprint11@earthlink.net Again, please join in on the fun this weekend.
