  1. Anything goes. Check the weekly new game releases and you will find simple 16bit games that have surprisingly overwhelmingly positive reviews. I don't get it myself but its like ImDB reviews: the haters score 1 and the caterer's assistant writes a review at 10. Doesn't mean anything.
  2. Converting your Combat Mission library to Steam would make updates an automatic process. I've taken my old Civilization CD games and others and converted them to my steam library account. Its similar to taking your music CD's and adding them to your iTunes account.
  3. NO its WE GO the resolution of each phase is simultaneous. But not real time (you almost had me there)
  4. If the action takes place simultaneously it is not turn based. Think of chess being turn based, you both don't simultaneously move, or XCOM2 which is classed as turn-based tactical, the player makes all the moves while the AI opponent stays frozen. WEGO, Realtime, and UGOIGO aka tactical turn based. Those are the 3 types. CM definitely is WEGO switchable to Realtime.
  5. Once you have figured all settings that are optimal, I would like to see a screen shot or list. I would like to try these settings as well.
  6. Great Idea @omelet. Kind of like what we have with the canadians speaking Mercan. But it works, which is good enough for me.
  7. I suffered from Montezuma's revenge once. But I was in the middle-east at the time. Go figure.
  8. I was about to think things did not look as detailed. Then i remembered whenever a module is added to check my settings. Sure enough 3D and texture quality was bumped back to mid from the install. So I maxed them out again. Looks great!
  9. Even before I scrolled down to your thread I was just thinkin we need PBR Streetgang!
  10. Actually Kriegsmarine battalion commander in game is Kapitänleutnant by all appearance, not Ensign according to UI.
  11. I don't think game design allows battalion commanders from different branches to apply leadership over all formations on map. I tried it in the editor. Actually if I know this I would think it was common knowledge. I just assumed if there is a Kampfgruppe commander somewhere, he is in rear with gear as they say.
  12. This was filmed in 1986? And he is still in denial. He stated he was shown films of bodies in Dresden and was told it was from Bergen-Belsem during an interrogation he received sometime from 1945-48. He based his whole denial on that for the remainder of his life. Its entirely possible some amateur film splicing operative after the war mislabelled file footage and sent it to educate these guys. But you think by 1986 he would have figured that out.
  13. The trooper in question stated with a discernible Cuban accent "say hello to my little friend"
  14. Hats off to him. Those ground snow textures are just wow.
  15. Even having the AI know which plan was used -maybe in a little profile file somewhere- so a new plan is used. I have played battles getting the same plan repeated.
  16. Well that's the perfect recipe to fish-out identity and passwords
  17. I am watching this series called Counterpart. If you like intriguing cold war style espionage mixed with your science fiction. Its not super action packed but it is a very well scripted noir style of spy vs saboteur vs double agent vs assassin type sci-fi thing. The setting is present day Berlin. Its about A secret UN agency that been based in Berlin for thirty years. The agency oversees a crossing point to a parallel Earth (the "Prime world"), a copy of our world, which was accidentally created by East German scientists during a cold war experiment gone wrong in 1987. The problem is, al
  18. Maybe I think that way a bit for role playing type games when I open up on a shop keeper to get his loot But it doesn't cross my mind for CM WW2 -Stalin: Not one step back. Hitler: Fight to the last bullet . Western Allies: Oh look *Omaha beach (sub in Dieppe for Canadians, Dunkirk for you know). I mean this is the time and place the mission came first, mission essential equipment came second, and somewhere down the pole came the general issue soldier. So if I can hasten the end of WW2 by pushing my squadies to attack, rally my broken squads to fire one more bullet, then scrounge a mach
