What about "Hollow Charge" rounds or what we know today as HEAT rounds(High Explosive Anti-Tank)? There were assault guns with HC rounds right? They would explode outside of the tank except they are designed in such a way as to direct of majority of the explosive force in one direction once contact was made, in effect punching a hole through armor with force many times that of an AP round of the same caliber (depending on the gun of course).

The interface is nice too. Which is it as well?

*Gasp* How did I miss this one! Its been four days already and I didnt even notice. I have not been paying enough attention to the forum. Email.. ON THE WAY! Oh, and by the way. Pair me up with U8led and then give a scenario where I have lots of anti-tank guns. Preferably big ones. That way I will have a chance of takeing out three of his tanks with one shot each hundreds of meters away(like he did me last tourny, no good sob) The other Matt [ December 05, 2002, 12:37 AM: Message edited by: gunnersman ]

Biltong's Campaign Rules - Cont.
gunnersman replied to Biltong's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Good day all. Been playing with Biltong's rules and having a humbling expierience. I like it though. I have scanned all the old posts but I cant find one to help explain something I am confused about. I rolled for an immediated Axis assault. It says in the parameters "see note 8" I read note 8. I have no idea what note 8 says. I understand Random number. I have been using one six sided die and one four sided die together for my random numbers. I think I understand "Random Number 3-8: The previous options stay the same" that seems pretty obvious. But I dont understand "choosing the option before previous battle's setting... or... after previous battle setting" Does that mean the same parameters will be used as in the previous battle if you roll a 1 or 2 and you choose a whole new set of parameters if you roll a 9 or 10? Thanks The other Matt -

I have CMBB is it worth getting CMBO?
gunnersman replied to Paul 87 LX's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
CMBO was revolutionary when it first came out. CMBB is a vast improvement on CMBO in gameplay, realism and graphics. I think you might be disappointed if you bought CMBO after playing CMBB. So, in short, no. Unless you really want the Western Front expirience, then by all means buy it. CMBO is the only computer game that does a good job of recreating the Western Front as realistically as possibly. I loved CMBO when it came out and I love CMBB even more. Thats my two cents worth. I am playing the Stalingrad operation (which is a cpu grinder by the way) and I noticed when I do area fire on the factories my units automatically aim at the upper level when I want them to aim at the lower level. How do you make them aim at the lower level or is this a bug? The other Matt

Assaulting bunkers - how? (BUG!)
gunnersman replied to demoss's topic in Combat Mission Archive #4 (2002)
Hmmm. Sounds like a problem (in the programing) that units will not recognize the bunker as viable target for certain weapons. [ November 07, 2002, 12:34 PM: Message edited by: gunnersman ] -

Artillery versus tanks.

In "Hornets Nest" I used the 150mm guns to knock out, disable or immobilize about five T34's towards the end of the battle. -

I second that Demoss, CMBB seems to me to be more of a challenge. You really need to use tactics as far as infantry is concerned. The game is much harder. I was sad that the shockwaves werent there but I got over it. The explosions I think are more realistic, however (I do think bombs could use a shockwave since the bigger ones did have lots of HE in them). The graphics are superior, the models are superior overall gameplay is superior. CMBB is much more realistic. It is a totally different game. I will not go back to CMBO until the rewrite is done. I have enjoyed CMBO but CMBB, IMHO, completely outdoes CMBO as far as feel, immersion, graphics and gameplay. [ October 15, 2002, 01:54 PM: Message edited by: gunnersman ]
