John Kettler
It's now well past noon here in California, and still I have nothing from Tero. I know he exists, having gotten CMBB test E-mail from him. Regards, John Kettler
Treeburst155
Get that new computer, John. You will REALLY be glad you did. You will not regret spending the money one bit. Treeburst155 out.
John Kettler
Treeburst155, I fully plan to. It simply hasn't externalized yet. The arrangements are in hand, though. Tero kindly sent me a mixed bag turn, in which he made some progress and in which I charged him dearly for the hurt done me. Issued new orders to my stalwart lads. John Kettler
"All sound and fury signifying nothing." That pretty much describes the movie from Tero this turn. Sent it back to watch and issue his orders. Six turns left! Regards, John Kettler
Fate
John, I hope you have the cash and haven't ordered yet. That new 17in laptop rocks! Don't think I've ever coveted a computer so much. http://www.apple.com/powerbook/index17.html The ad: (need quicktime) http://www.apple.com/hardware/video/powerbookg4bigandsmall.html [ January 07, 2003, 11:22 PM: Message edited by: Fate ]
John Kettler
Tero sent me a turn today, unfortunately the previous turn. Score another one for Mercury in retrograde! I say another one because when I tried to post yesterday, I got a banned notice for the AOL IP number I was using, much to my shock. Apparently, a block of IP numbers got banned in dealing with some hacking attempt, and mine was in the block. Now, my IP number, being dynamic, is different. Fate, the only way I can afford that technotoy is if you buy it for me (in which case, thanks! What a pal!). Seriously, I'd have to gut myself if I spaced out and somehow misplaced/forgot my almost as much as my car laptop computer. Latest info suggests that I'm a few days away from having a fully loaded 15" or 17" iMac, complete with AirPort goodies. Am not really a mobile computing sort of person--so far at least. Haven't had the need, and laptops were way too expensive for me. Also, readability in daylight was awful. I believe the ergonomics of the new iMac will be a huge help, conforming the display to me rather than the other way around. John Kettler
Tero and I continue to be turn dogged. The replacement turn turned out to be his turn and therefore equally as useless, but in a different way, than the prior problem. Finishing this fight's becoming harder than tooth extraction sans anesthesia on a cranky sabertooth. Mr. Murphy is in full hue and cry in finishing these last few turns. John Kettler
Success at last! Mr. Murphy has been vigorously cudgeled about the head and ears and has been locked into a closet. We hope this will keep him at bay long enough to finish our last five turns of what seems an eon. Have issued orders to grease the skids for this happy event. John Kettler
Tero sent me a movie in which we both bled a bit more, and I just sent him my orders for turn 30. Regards, John Kettler
John Kettler
Tero and I are so militarily spent that though we continue to bleed and punish each other, the scale of the damage is greatly reduced from what it was earlier. This is borne out by the latest movie. Regards, John Kettler [ January 12, 2003, 04:08 AM: Message edited by: John Kettler ]

John Kettler
Issued orders for turn 31 and sent same to Tero. We've actually managed three turns without a glitch. May this happy trend continue! Regards, John Kettler
John Kettler
Tero's pressing me hard as we go into the last few turns. I just reminded him that I'm a bull by goring him. Regards, John Kettler
John Kettler
Tero blindsided me with a turn yesterday after I checked my Inbox. He's pushing even harder, continues to hurt me, but got some of his lads sent fleeing from the field in consequence. Sent him the movie. Treeburst155
OK, John, you're close enough to the end. It's time to launch the rocket attack! Treeburst155 out.
John Kettler
Issued penultimate orders a bit late, thanks to a friend's dropping by mere hours before my 48th birthday. We stayed up until nearly dawn visiting, looking at military books, and telling the strange tales of our recent experiences. As for rockets... Wireless operator? Sah! Be so good as to send this grid off straightaway to those Land Mattress lads. They've been begging for a suitable target for days to show off their new toy. Since Jerry's everywhere in front of us, they're bound to hit something. Make bloody sure they offset the aimpoint enough so the blighty rockets don't land on us, though. Sah! John Kettler
Tero took some lumps that turn, a few more than I did. Have issued my final orders and await the whirlwind and the final reckoning. It has been a grueling, draining fight. Regards, John Kettler
Fate
Man, kudos to you guys for hanging in there. How's that new comp coming John? What are you ending up with anyways?
John Kettler
Have seen the bloody and devastating last turn, but Tero gets to see the ultimate outcome and butcher's bill first. I feel spent, so much so that I mislabeled the turn in the subject block of the E-mail to Tero, though I did attach the correct turn. Fate, am sweating blood here, for I don't have it yet (supposedly imminent) and RoW III has begun, but the odds favor a 17" iMac and a DSL hookup. John Kettler
It's early Saturday afternoon here in California, yet still I lack the end of game screen and map from Tero. Most frustrating! Regards, John Kettler
John Kettler
Sunday came, and with it, the juicy details of what really happened in my rather prolonged clash with Tero. My RoW II duties are now complete in terms of the battles, but the AARs yet remain. RoW II has been quite an experience, and the perversity and deviousness of the scenario designers--impressive. I shall be most interested in seeing how I fared in this scenario, as compared to my fellows. I found it extremely challenging, especially given what I had to work with in terms of terrain and forces. Regards, John Kettler
Kanonier Reichmann
Come on John, get those AAR's posted. I feel like a good read. Regards Jim R.

Treeburst155
The game results file has been sent your way, John. Treeburst155 out.
John Kettler
Treeburst155, Got it, but couldn't help noticing that the results for NoE were singularly absent. This means either a) you never got them from Tero (who lost) or you got them but somehow missed them while compiling your input list. Personally, I suspect Tero may have simply forgotten to notify you. Regards, John Kettler
