Roter Stern
Any idea what causes these kinds of jagged shadows on units, and any way to fix them? Most apparent on the ATGM's sightbox and the stand, but also present on the RPG gunner as well. Here's another one, on the inside of the right leg: These don't appear right away, but seem to always appear over time. I have an nVidia 6600-256, running v162.18. CMSF set to "Better" 3D Quality and no AA.

M1A1TC
I have these problems as well, so I just turn the shadows off as a work-around until (and if) BFC fixes the problem. My PC has ATI Radeon 9800 XT card with latest drivers (2007)
vincere
Oh please don't say there are issues with ATI too.
aleader
I have a GeForce 7600GT and get the same weird shadows, so it's not just ATI.

M1A1TC
After further study, the shadows still are very pixalated/jaggy
Roter Stern
Just an update on this issue - I'm now running an nVidia 8800GTS-512 with v177.xx drivers, and the problem has not changed any in CMSF v1.08. Changing the AA setting does not make any difference.
missinginreality
have you tried adjusting the card settings through the nvidia control panel? My nvidia card has a separate "per program" panel - might be worth a play around with some of the options in there? That fixed a few fps issues for me, may be something in there for you too?
CogNative
See Antialias / Multisample: ON - image quality? http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=82707 "turn the shadows off as a work-around..." Yes setting 'Alt-W' to "Shadows OFF" helps.. for a while on my computer. "Changing the AA setting does not make any difference." It does decrease the 'jag hags' a bit on my computer but setting AA to 'ON' kills the game, literally locks it up for me. Too bad because CMSF looks great for the time it works. "adjusting the card settings through the nvidia control panel?" I have played with ALL the nvidia control panel settings.... for the MacBook Pro. Essentially it has little effect on my MacBook Pro. Smaller "Byte Battles" allow me to play CMSF enjoyably ... visually that is... even with AA set to 'ON'... till it locks up. Schrullenhaft as always has the suggestions and answers (Thanks). I tried but them but...? Hope the promised OSX version of CMSF is a Christmas gift on the way? Prince of Eckmühl
Just wanted to update the ticket here in regards to 1.10 and the Marines module. Shadows continue to produce major jaggies with 8xxx cards and 175.19 drivers in WinXP SP2. Users can turn the shadows off with alt-W, but that's not really a fix.

Mantiscs
Hey guys, I am experiencing the same problem with shadows in multiple games. Crysis - Wharhead, Counter Strike Source, Battlefield 2142, Frontlines Fuel of War, etc. It has something to do with dynamic shadows. I have tried every possible setting combination available and nothing, same thing. I have tried alternative drivers (Omega Drivers) same thing. I have the latest ATI drivers at the moment 8.11, and i am a network engineer so i know exactly what i'm doing but i can't resolve this issue...
