Charles doesn't think there should be a reason for it to not work on Win2000, however as Rune says... it is not supported by us because we a) don't know if it will work and don't have any interest in trying to fix it if it doesn't. Win2000 is now very old and there are two entire new families of OSes out since. Best thing to do is download the demo when it's available.
