targul
Yep hard for me to commit to many sins. I am too old to chase woman. I still look but that is about as far as it goes. Been married for 40 years and wife is the best so never needed anyother woman. I am a primary care giver for my oldest son so I stay home except when I take him to the hospital or movies. Doesnt allow for many sins. Worked since I was 13 usually about 70 hours a week so no time for sins. I do not use profain language or drink so I am pretty much boring. jon_j_rambo
@AllSocialists --- Let me give you a little advice today, buy some stocks! Market has been headcracked, this is a no brainer to buy today...after a 2-week fall off. Just got off ICQ with KommieWorth (Kuniworth), dude doesn't have a clue about making some jack. You all need to take Banking 101 class to understand how an economy works of loans. Many blue chip solid companies are down 2.5% or more, pick a couple, you'll make some jack in 1 day. Today is the day to buy, 13 minutes to market close If you Socialists make some jack, you might feel like a man. -Legend

jon_j_rambo
Yep, gotta have dough to play. Margin interest too much for this kid. I had the Cubs for $50 too. I played a couple tech stocks. Mostly Micron.
targul
I would not ride that horse for long. This market has serous problems. Almost 6 trillion Fed Debt, Housing will continue to fall apart those insane no interest no down loans were surely a mistake. How they thought that would never change I have no idea. Fuel prices running at all time high. Somewhere there has to be payment for this over useage of our resources. I removed my money from the market in March and do not expect to go back in until I see some change of how we operate. You cannot spend your way into profit as our present administration suggests. The K Man
I got out probably a little too early at the end of November. But atleast I still made over 5% from then to now. Still in with the 401k. But I think the market will continue to drop. (It always goes thru these cycles, like a rollercoaster.) Now its going into a down cycle. I agree with Targul. I go by my own feel now, and don't bother with the "experts" opinion. Learned my lesson when the tech bubble burst. Just before it had, I felt like I should move some of the tech stocks into safer stocks. Asked my rep and the answer was "where do you think techs are going to go...only up." Yeah, right, as I said, learned my lesson.
jon_j_rambo
Ah, don't worry, be happy! Oil has actually gone down. I paid $2.56/gallon, that's NOTHING! It ws $1.00/gallon back with Carter, do the inflation math. Exxon makes $10 Billion profit per quarter...burn that oil baby! Somebody has to rid the world of oil, and I love to fill up my rides (SUV & Truck). Far as Uncle Sam's debt...the good news, it ain't my debt. Sam won't pay, don't worry. Money is just ink on paper. Having the resources is king. Our corporations are making record profits overseas, because we run the planet. Our computers, tech, inventions, medicine, movies, language, etc...is king. Housing is just fine. Just because CountryWide gave a bunch of no-down risk ARM's doesn't hurt anybody. Just throw the bums out, the land/house is still there In Capitalism, you gotta take your risk damage. Reward is there for the taking. "They are waiting to give you their money, are you going to take it? Are you man enough to take it?" --- Glengarry Glenross Make some dough fellows, it bounced in that last 15 minutes. We're below 13,000, it was 11,000 6 years ago. Think of all the 401k dough that is thrown in each month. Nobody gets rich fading the USA. Nobody gets rich shorting the USA. jon_j_rambo
Market Pops early! Told you! Micron is up 4.81% in first 10 minutes of trading. I picked up nearly $4,000 in profit before breakfast. Stocks had dropped 6 days in a row, how much more of a buying signal to you want? If you'd like to pick up some dough this afternoon, Roger Federer will be playing tennis against some scrub, easy cash. Learn, -Legend

More exactly, A-Fool-and-his-Money Sort of soul-less boast. Be a man for once in yer life. Get a job. Pick lettuce or cotton. Run a back-hoe. Weld some steel. Re-build what's gone rotten. Work the green-chain in a lumber camp, and Off-load baubles for the lace-cuff Yuppies, Some ocean-worn dock. Work the night-shift At a Convenience store For minimum wage, yea verily brother, then Stare at the Saturday Night Special Aimed square at yer face, And pretend it's only - a reality show. As for the rest of the recent bombast, Do this: Go preach down 'round - south New Orleans. Or, In bloody 'hood of Harlem. Spin yer cherry-picked gospel in East LA, Or the wrong-side of the tracks In bad-shoulder Chicago. Pick any USA city, Large or small, no matter, And sing high priced praises To them's beat and afflicted. We got! Ghettos galore - and so, You can go SLUMMING - everywhere! In this fast elapsing land, ah, mercy, Ain't that just... grand? Then, Well, ONLY then Do I - personally, Consider you WORTH listening to. jon_j_rambo
@Desert Socialist Dave --- Huh? Get a job...okay, here's the list of mine. Newspaper routes. Everyday, no matter what the weather. Made about $80/week + tips. Not bad for a kid on a bike. High school, Merchandiser & warehouse work. Try that while maintaining high grades & playing varsity sports (golf, baseball, basketball). Truck driver, paid for my own college, work nights at various crap jobs. Got your CDL-A? Don't tell me about blue collar work. Salesrep, straight commission, no Commie work for me, right out of college. Golf course & warehouse. Wanna lift some boxes then shoot 74 at the course? Oh, I work son. Went back to college for another degree for my speciality work today. I try to help you clowns make some money, and you attack me (judge me). Nothing wrong with making money, I don't love the money...just something one needs if they don't die tomorrow. Joseph was the first commodity trader in the Bible, go read it...maybe you'll be a wise steward of your cash instead of being a complainer waiting for their next government check. Free markets work, it works for anybody who will work & work smart. Nobody has given me a cent, I've earned every penny, not ashamed of my living, property, or dough. It's really not mine, it's all the Lord's. Let me give you a clue. There's nothing spiritual about being poor. Nowhere in the Bible doesn't it say to believe in Jesus, then live in a soup kitchen. If the soup kitchen is the best YOU can do, that's fine, but don't blame me because you are waiting for your next government check. Anyhow, I ain't rich in cash anyways...I just pick a few spots here & there to make a little dough. Thank God for Capitalism so us little people can make dough. Would you rather we all live in Cuba? Would that be fun & spiritual? $2600 ain't squat anyhow...just a little fun money. I'll be putting in right back in the economy soon enough to payoff some bills & get a big screen. Capitalism gives a chance to make dough, Jesus gives us Heaven. What would you like me to do? Go get a job as a Walmart greeter to "feel spiritual"? That would be burying my talent Repeat, there's nothing spiritual about being a complaining bum. Jesus had a job, Jesus made jack, Jesus commmanded us to use our talents. I tithe, I give out bible for free, I give bums money...what else do you want from me? You want me to sit around like your loser life drinking coffee, reading the paper, & complaining? Wake up, the early bird gets the worm. -Legend

targul
A date with Rambo. Now that is a repelling thought. Normally I like the northwest but I will need to reconsider that area. As to the market I do not think you made a mistake in November. I only stayed then due the the January effect. The fed's cutting rates I would normally call a buy signal but there reasons lead me to believe stay out will remain my way.

Good job by the way JJR. Nothing wrong with getting ahead. That's what America tries to provide for people. It never said it was guaranteed but the opportunity is there. About as much as we can ask for! The stock market and compound interest are ways for you and I and the guy down the street to make some money over and above the stuff we toil for. targul
Grats Timskorn. Always nice when someone gets something they deserve. If you are young you should always invest in the market there is no other way for people to make real money. You can work all your life but it will only make you a living. Sure you may lose sometimes but long run the market has been the mainstay of the rich. Hope you become one.
Timskorn
Yes, that's what my dad has been preachin' all this time. I'm 28 and the time to start investing is now. If I get rich, great, but hopefully at the very least it'll give me a nice nest egg to draw on when I retire so I don't have to keep working until I'm 80. I've made a lot of bad financial decisions in my short life. Looking back I wish I could tell every 18 year old what NOT to do, and what TO DO with their money. I'm just grateful I'm able to start now.
