jon_j_rambo
Challenge time...I offically challenge Chris G. & Timskorn a game of SC2, lets take this to the battlefield. @Timskorn --- I'll play you any mod, PBEM or TCP/IP. Call your A.I. friend that you made, it won't help you beat the Legend. @Chris G. --- I'd love to play you a game too, punk. You're another wet noodle American who disses against everything important in life (SC2 & Israel). Now come get yours from the Legend. Lets play a game. "I'll give you a war" --- Rambo "Now turn around Lon & get yours" --- Marlon Brando as The Kid, in the Western Classic, One Eyed Jacks. Camp Rambo still standing for SC Camp Rambo still standing for real America Camp Rambo still stands as the US Champ
Stragic Command
retributer thank you for supporting my thinking! accautually I think just let the AI cheat once his offense runs into a halt if fine! Give the AI tons of MP and force the AI to spend that MP than the Axis AI will be good enough to defend and hopefully draws! On a very serious note an Axis player that does not defend is an incomplete Axis player!
Timskorn
Sweet! I love a challenge, even if I don't stand a chance. PBEM good for you? I work too much right now to have time for TCP/IP, should have more time after next week though. I'm working 12 hour days and weekends, until after next Wed. even my PBEM time will be limited. No mods though, vanilla 1939. If you're okay with a slow start, go ahead and send the first turn, or we can figure it out next week. KillerTomato
Chris G Do you know there is a very active PG2 community and the game itself is still in continuous development ( open source ). The new version of the game contains upgraded audio/video etc Check it out it Rulez! Tomato
hellraiser
this topic was hijacked...I think no one is arguing for the need of a good AI - sure, there are some players (me included) who won't give a rat's ass about the AI; but I recognize the vast majority of the players will play only the AI, for different and perhaps very valid reasons. I am all about SC2 having a good AI but what I want to pass to you guys is not to expect a NASA computer AI playing sc2 vs you. No matter how much time HC devotes to improve the AI, you will beat it after a few games - if you're happy with that, ok. If you won't be happy with that, you will need to play MP, assuming you really like this game and you want to be the best at it. No AI can match the imagination of the human mind (seems a bit egocentric but it is the naked truth ) A good AI is a very strong selling point for every computer game and I think no one will argue about that. It's just that it has its limitations, nothing more. Peace

Iron Ranger
Well, I didnt read the 4 pages of posts. Just skimed a few and shocked really. That the AI should not be able to sniff out traps? poorly use the resources complared to a human? Lets be honest, the AI here is not big blue v3 (BB3 is only good because of the X'K games in its memory), if it can do the basic's untill 42 we should be happy. More then that would be great but its asking alot.

Chris G
KillerTomato Thank you for your input. I was browsing the Internet to find the patch to PG1 and came across something called LGeneral as well as a surprisingly big PG2 community. Unfortunately for me, I like PG1 the most followed by PG3 Scorched Earth. The reason PG1 is my favourite is that you can both win and lose without the game being over. Also it has an almost infinitive amount of massive maps. I heard that then they made LGeneral (only for Linux I think) they found PG1 maps that no one had played yet. That says a lot. I never liked PG2, but maybe I should check it out. Maybe I can reconsider. It would be great to have some retro fun while waiting for SC2 to be playable. Do you’ve any good websites to recommend? jjr So you’re challenging me in a 1on1 game ah? Is that because I just wrote that I only played SC2 twice against the poor AI?

Iron Ranger
Life is too short Rambo, I rarely have time for a good S/S/S let alone a game that can take a whole weekend. So you will have to find another in the USA to smack you around, and around, and around. Ahhhhh and remember foke's Rambo's good for fun games, not the same old 'air power' pattern most played in SC1!
Bullox
As others here have posted I think the Axis is too strong. Not being a Grognard of any sorts but still have been playing war games since the Commodore 64. Empty ports that can decimate an entire navy? Bombers that are worthless due to the fact it cost you 30 times the damage done to repair them? Isn't that throwing good money after bad? Guess I'll just stick to CM games. Maybe I just like tactical more than strategic or maybe I just stink at strategic level games.
Sombra
I dont think bombers are worthless because in human vs human they are used more and more Rockets alas are never seen (perhaps Rambo uses them ) Engineers are although only a showpiece
jon_j_rambo
@Iron Ranger --- Dude, I have time for golf, my Lady, and other things. At the same time, who's running your life? Nothing wrong with a few games of SC & some smack. Agamemnon
I am sick of this game. It randomly won't let me move units. I don't get to rebuild destroyed units. I can't move an HQ that showed up in the Atlantic arrow, so it will go back to the med to be destroyed when get gets there. I am done. This is a waste of time. The game is too buggy to play. SC2 is a steaming load of crap. Before anyone starts up with the "send it to Hubert" talk, it's not going to happen. That's where the "I am done" part comes in.
Sombra
@ Agamemno Huh? I didn´t run into any of these "bugs" but I have some guesses what happened. You can only rebuild units if supply is bigger then 5. Being "Out of supply" , bad weather, enemy zone of control, bad terrain would explain why you can´t "randomly" move units Regarding your HQ let me guess its on a amphib transport unfortunately its supply and readiness is around zero, perphaps bad weather and now its doing the flying dutchman? Happened to me once I learned the my lesson to send attack vessels instead of transports.
mustang96
Yo Agamemon Chill out bud! Maybe if you knew how to play the game, it wouldn't seem so buggy! This game doesn't suck it rocks! Mustang
