COMBAT MISSION WEBRING INFORMATION! Webmasters please look…

Recommended Posts

As the newly appointed Combat Mission Webring manager, I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone with a Combat Mission website to join (if you haven’t already) the ring. There are some sites that aren’t getting the exposure they warrant, and joining the ring will help to keep all CM sites accessible from a central location.

Also, if you have a site currently on the ring, please check for a recent e-mail from me regarding your webring code. If you haven’t received this mail, please contact me at your earliest opportunity!

I’m going to try and keep the ring working smoothly, with no broken links and CM related pages only, so I will be suspending sites that don’t comply within 48 hours, and removing them from the ring in 7 days. Again, please contact me if you’re unsure of your status on the ring, and I can assist you in getting everything operating correctly.

I feel this is a great CM resource, and together we can get your sites (and CM) the coverage they deserve.

Thanks,

Craig “Harv” Harvey

Okay, seems people are more likely to ignore Harv than me.

LISTEN UP MAGOTS!!! This is the one and same CM Webring that I set up years ago and as of late havent had time to update.

Harv was "volunteered" to take this up for me.

Now webmasters MUST make sure their webring code is current, on the correct page and properly configured or they will be suspended from the ring. If a site remains out of compliance it will be deleted from the ring.

Give Harv a little time so we can make the CM Webring bigger and better than ever.

Your compliance is expected!

Harv, Madmatt,

you can kick 'The Bunker' out if you like. I haven't updated it since 18-7-2000 and quite frankly forgot the FTP password.

And besides it's bloody awfull since it is/was my first attempt at HTML and webpages. And my english ain't that great either

OK, I have clicked the little button that says "Auto-Manage this Webring". From now on the webring itself will be testing the sites for compliance every few days.

The bad news is that any sites that don't comply will soon be suspended automatically, and will be deleted from the ring list 7 days after suspension. You will have to re-apply to join the ring if this happens, so try not to let it happen.

The good news though is that when the code is fixed on a suspended site it will be reinstated automatically.

What this all means is that the ring will become an actual ring again, and navigation between sites using the webring panel won't result in any more dead ends.

To sum up...CHECK YOUR WEBSITE'S WEBRING CODE!!! Click on the Webring link in my sig, and if there is a red dot beside your website FIX IT! If you're having trouble drop me a note and we WILL get it working.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Ps. Grtz...I'll remove The Bunker today.

Pps. If anyone else would like their site removed from the ring just send me an e-mail.

Looks like another bump is required.

We're getting there, but there are still more than 30 sites suspended. Some are working on it right now, some haven't been updated in a year or more (and I assume are more or less dead), but there are some excellent sites out there that are MIA.

This is a great resource for your site and Combat Mission, and I urge you to get your sites up and working on the webring as soon as possible.

Gah...page 4 already.

This is it, last bump from me. Remember...

If you have a site on the ring and it has been suspended, contact me and we'll get it working.

If you have a site that isn't on the ring, get it on the ring!

I got a bump for ya there Harv ... all high and mighty now aren't we just ... all puffed up and CM Webring manager (whatever) aren't we now ... WELL IT WON'T DO LADDY!

We remember when you were a snot nosed ... okay technically you're STILL snot nosed but you're in Saskatchewan so what can you expect, SSN in the CessPool.

If you've time for a webring you've time to drop in on them as who welcomed you lad. Of course the same might be said of my turns but that's another story.

Joe
