Hoopenfaust2
Mac OS 9.2.2 iMac G4 800MHZ 512 ram Nvidia Geforce ...2? My cursor has turned into a black square, only in CMAK. CMBB is fine. Anyone? Same problem?
_UXcva
Yes same problem here (Only in CMAK). Everything else seems fine except that. OS 9.2.2 (on its own HD), G4800DP, GeForce3. Here are some pics : Cursor is fine until "3D graphics loading" screen comes up. Cursor then goes to black box then soon thereafter the cursor reappears but with the blackbox in tow. *posted new pics with edit [ November 20, 2003, 09:31 AM: Message edited by: _UXcva ]
CMplayer
I have the same problem. Out-of-the-box Power Mac G4 933. Don't know what video card I have... just whatever comes with the thing.
REVS
I posted about this issue in the 'graphics error' thread, but yep, that's the black square in question. My machine is a G4 933mHz, and I think the video card is a NVDA GeForce4MX and the VRAM is 64MB (I'm not too good at hardware talk, but that's what the System Profiler in 9.2 said)

REVS
Go to the Apple Menu icon (top left of screen) Then open the Apple System Profiler (on my machine it's the third item from the top) Then when that window opens go to the second tab from the left at the top, called "Devices and Volumes" Then, down the bottom left side of that window you'll see 'PCI', and attached to that is the info for Slot 1 - Display Card. Have a look at what's listed there, and I think (no promises – I aint no tech-head!) that's the name of your video card. Could some tech-expert out there confirm that for us?
Wicky
Should see something like this: Not sure what info gets displayed for Nvidia cards
CMplayer
Thanks guys. I just checked, and I've got the same card as REVS. (and I get the black square, instead of a cursor)
Michael Emrys
I get the black square, no cursor. G4 733, GeForce4 Ti 4600 with 128MB. Everything else seems to look okay so far. Textures are still being downsampled, especially the lower half of tanks. Michael
_UXcva
I've updated the pictures since my original reply but have made a new discovery. As in the second picture, I got the cursor to reappear (but with the black box "behind" it) by taking a screen shot (command-shift-3). Try that and see if you get the same results.
davidh
Same problem here on the same sort of machine (G4/933 with Nvidia MX4 with 64MB). The cursor is fine, though, on my TiPB (G4/800 with ATI RageM7(?) with 32MB). I tried various mice/drivers to see if anything would help but no luck (Logitech MX700 with its own latest drivers or USB Overdrive, then the standard Apple mouse with only its own drivers active). Fortunately, no other apparent effects on graphics or gameplay, so more of just an annoyance rather than a show-stopper.

Everything seems to work okay so far, but in some cases I have to put the upper left hand corner of the box over whatever it is that I want to click on. engineeruofm
The same thing is happening to me, I have a 700 MHz G4. Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with the cursor, but the graphics for the infantry units and the flags don't look right. They look like they are covered with a kalidscope of colors.

Only, in my case it also effected vehicles some of the time. I took some screenshots at the time and may still have them. I could pop one or two over to you if you'd like for comparison purposes. CombinedArms
I have this same problem with the black box and have an NVDA, Display-A card on a flatscreen G4 iMac. I'm wondering if this is unique to the Nvidia cards or whether it's also showing up on rhe Radeon cards? I personally wouldn't worry too much about this as long as it only affects the demo and not the CD. If anyone at BFC wants to send me a copy of the CD, I'd be happy to test it out right now.

jbertles
New wrinkle. I transferred the CMAK files to my ibook and used the touchpad - no black box.
jbertles
Update. I tried the using my Apple pro mouse on my ibook and again no black box. My ibook is using an ATY RageM6 vid card, whatever than means. My tower is using NVDA GeForce4MX. Hope this helps.
Kestrl
Looks like you all have new Macs and with Nividia cards, that might be the problem. I have a ATI radeon and have no problems with CMAK and I have G4 450 MHZ Mac.
aikidorat
My iBook (600MHz, dual USB) didnt show this at all - ATI video card, 8M. sure appears to be an Nvidia driver issue.
