  1. or maybe if you know aircraft are around purchase 20mm or 37mm AA guns
  2. You have it set for variable so prices are going to change

  4. I’m looking for a good scenario to play and I was wondering what is a memorable scenario you’ve played recently?
  5. I checked out the battle in the editor and it looks unbalanced with what kind of equipment and the experience level of the German units. I didn’t look at the briefings but I guess there really isn’t a reason to play as the Germans if there isn’t a briefing for them.
  6. SPOILER ALERT... SPOILER ALERT.... SPOILER ALERT Hello Znarf, I checked out your scenario and I did like that the map was long but didn’t care for all the German units being veterans and the German Headquarter units having all plus two leadership symbols. Anyway good job on the map and I’ll give it a go as a TCP/IP battle later this week.
  7. Your doing a Quick battle and it doesn't matter how you did the setup zone in the editor because the computer will set them up like its a QB, normal not a bug.
  8. Looks like you all have new Macs and with Nividia cards, that might be the problem. I have a ATI radeon and have no problems with CMAK and I have G4 450 MHZ Mac.
  9. You can read all about clearing landmines in the CMBB manual, just look in the appendix under The Environment, Mines, and Clearing Mines page 64. The manual says you need to be within 25 meters for a engineer/pioneer with demolition charges to clear mines and depending on experience it takes a few turns.
  10. I believe BTS programs Combat Mission on a Mac and ports it over to a Windows system. I’ll be purchasing two copies of CMAK one windows and the other Mac.
  11. These are the only types for ammunition for CMBB he – High Explosive (HE ) ap – Armor Piercing (AP ) hc – Hollow Charge (HC ) c – Canister (C ) t – Tungsten (T ) s – Smoke (S ) They don’t model White Phosphorus rounds in either CMBO or CMBB at least yet.
  12. How about this Anti-Aircraft tank for CMAK? Here is a second picture of the Skink I don't know if it saw any action but might be fun to use.
  13. Anyone remember this halftrack the M4A1 mortar carrier from CMBO? Will be a lot better now that HQ's can spot. I don't know how to do images. [ October 18, 2003, 05:49 AM: Message edited by: Kestrl ]
  14. I’m starting an unofficial CMAK vehicle list? I really liked the detail on the GMC M15/M15A1 and it looked outstanding blazing away against some infantry. I’m hoping it won’t be too expensive because I can’t wait to field the M15. They were field by American forces in North African (Tunis) campaign. I got a good bit of information from British and American tanks of WW2 by Peter Chamberlain and Chris Ellis, excellent book. 15. I don't know what happened to my text in the last thread but I don't see any harm in discussing the release date of CMAK or anything about the future demo. Unless people would like to discuss the pros and cons of the General Motors 6-71 diesel engine or the Chrysler A-57 multibank 370Hp engine. I know the release of a North Africa CM has raised my interest for that area of WW2.
  16. Don't really know what happened to my text but I don't see any harm in discussing when CMAK might be released and what the demo might be like.
  17. I'm not sure when it will be released. You should see what happens when the demo is released, this website will slow down to a crawl. I have a excellent connection to the internet and I had a few failed attempts and finally was able to downloaded it. The only problem was the CMBB demo wasn't the greatest and really not worth the trouble downloading. I'm probably going to wait for the full release this time around.
  18. I’m hyped about the release of CMAK and can’t wait to place my orders. I still remember receiving my copy of CMBB here at my new apartment where the mailman stuffed the envelope in my small mailbox, lucky for me BTS sticks the C/D in the manual. I can’t wait to invade or defend Crete in a CMAK battle and use New Zealand, Australian and commonwealth units against the axis. I hope to see a M3 Grant with a E5R2-M3 flamethrower you never know when you might have to break a tough bunker [ October 13, 2003, 08:22 PM: Message edited by: Kestrl ]
  19. The M3, M3A1, M3A2, M3A3, M3A4, M3A5, Grant I, Lee I, ect all have 6 crew members ( commander, driver, Loaders (2), gunners (2) ) Had to add a nice picture of a M3
  20. I’m sure there is going t o be a lot of different prototypes of the M3 series tanks but will the M3A3 variants show the counter weight to balance the gyro-stabiliser on the M2 75mm gun? I think it would be good for FOW and misidentifying different variants during a battle. Thanks [ October 11, 2003, 01:15 PM: Message edited by: Kestrl ]
  21. Check out the list of fixes for CMBB 1.03 and I believe that issue has been addressed
  22. I'm curious why this AT gun is called a LePAK gun? Anyone got a answer. The date is June 1943
  23. Check the casualities option in the QB setup area and see if its set on a percentage or random. Your units will be weakened if its not set on none.
  24. You need version 1.02 of CMBB so you can pick Pure armor in the force mix area in the Quick battle setup. That will give you a all armor force [ February 26, 2003, 09:50 PM: Message edited by: Kestrl ]
  25. I've played a lot of battles as the Germans and normally every time my infantry get decimated by Russian SMG platoons. I know the benefit of SMG platoons with their envious firepower at close range but they are awful at long range plus not much ammo. They won’t last those 30 plus turn battle if that is the only infantry someone purchases so are people looking for a quick victory with them or a little edge in battle? P.S. just a little AAR I posted below from an interesting TCP/IP Quick Battle I played today. I’ve really been enjoying almost pure infantry battles with a couple armored or mechanized vehicles. I had a good TCP/IP Quick Battle today with a Russian rifle company and a couple of 45mm AT guns, I was defending. The map was farmland, heavy trees, small hills, medium damage, and dawn. I was defending as the Russians and picked mechanized forces against a German combined force. I setup my two 45mm AT guns in the rear area overlooking some open areas and a road leading into a small village. I haven’t had to many opponents who drive right down a road in the center of the map so I really didn’t think my guns would get any good shots. The area they were covering was small so at least artillery and enemy units would have a tough time trying to knock them out. I did finally get a clear shot at my opponent’s assault gun which was over looking his infantry advance, I set a covered armor arc and waited for my opponent to advance and for my AT gun to get a clear shot. The AT gun was positioned behind the lines in a small pine forested area and had small window for a clear shot at the assault gun. The assault gun rotated to its left and I had a nice side shot at it and the turn ended just before my AT gun opened up. I put the LOS tool on it and it said 45% chance, good chance to knock it out, and it was hull down. I hit the go button to watch the turn and the AT gun got numerous hits on it before the crew abandoned it. This was one of my longest battles with 40 plus turns and it lasted a few hours but it was only a 600-point battle, good way to spend a sunday afternoon.
