William amos
The Italian Front has always been one I wished a wargame is based on. Glad to see one finally out. Here is some of the Units that fought in this theater.. http://www.battleofmontecassino.com/ Monte Cassino French Expeditionary Corps General Juin Moroccan 2nd Infantry Division General Dody 3rd Algerian Infantry Division General de Monsabert U.S. II Corps General Keyes U.S. 34th Infantry Division General Ryder U.S. 36th Infantry Division General Walker British X Corps General McCreery 56th Division General Templer 5th Division 46th Division New Zealand 2nd Corps General Freyberg New Zealand 2nd Division General Parkinson 4th Armoured Brigade (18, 19, and 20th Armoured Regiments and 22nd Battalion). 5th Infantry Brigade (21st Motorized and 23rd New Zealand and 28th Maori Battalions) 6th Infantry Brigade (New Zealand 24, 25, and 26th Battalions comprising Divisional artillery, engineers, administration, and staff). 4th Indian Divison with Gurkhas Polish 2nd Corps General Anders 3rd Carpathian Division Lt. The U.S. 45th Infantry Division and Combat Command A (CCA), a regimental-size unit of the U.S. 1st Armored Division, were directed to land as reinforcements once the beachhead was established. (not mentioned but also there was the 1st Special Forces brigade (Devils brigade) of canadians and Americans. Upon receiving word of the landings, Kesselring immediately dispatched elements of the 4th Parachute and Hermann Goering Divisions south from the Rome area to defend the roads leading north from the Alban Hills. Within the next twenty-four hours Hitler dispatched other units to Italy from Yugoslavia, France, and Germany to reinforce elements of the 3d Panzer Grenadier and 71st Infantry Divisions that were already moving into the Anzio area. By the end of D-day, thousands of German troops were converging on Anzio, despite delays caused by Allied air attacks. Later in Italy will see 10th US Mountain Divison 91st "buffalo" Black american Divison. 442 nesei Regt of Japanese Americans Brazilian 1st Infantry Jewish Brigade. Plus others have to do some research. [ April 14, 2003, 11:01 PM: Message edited by: William amos ]

JonS
Actually, this is a better listing as it has Australia, Canada, East Africa, Free France, Greece, India, Italy, New Zealand, Poland, South Africa, and West Africa. Khan, if we get Indians, then by default we get Gurkhas
