Dave H
Great picture! Maybe those green troops don't recognize fire. Or maybe their platoon leader told them to stay put, no matter what happened. Luckily they seem to be wearing their asbestos uniforms.
Steppe Butcher
Is this a caption competition? How about-"See comrade,I told you Molotovs are meant for throwing at tanks, not for trying to stoke our barbecue"
markshot
You want good pictures. Well, here is another one. The next turn they advanced right through the flames. I don't think I will ever make fun of Green Soviet troops again!
Green Hornet
Hmmm...that doesn't seem right does it? I guess I could understand no casualties, but their status didn't even change to *alerted* or *cautious* while running through fire? Those are some battle-hardened green troops you've got there.
Moon
Don't forget that the flames show that the terrain is slowly but surely becoming an unpleasant place to stay, not necessarily that out of a sudden 20 meters of brush are engulfed in a wall of fire. If the unit stayed in the fire for longer, it would have been a bug probably. The fact that they moved out shows that all works as it should. Does the battle you play allow for fanatic troops? That could explain why their morale remains ok. Martin

lcm1947
Hmmm. I'm impressed with the battle hardened soldiers you have there but something seems wrong. I myself had something like that happen to me but blew it off as just one of those things. Maybe not? I know in CMBO troops sure weren't that fire tolerant.
Dr. Rosenrosen
If they were German soldiers, I would think they were the Siegfried squad, fearlessly walking through the magic fire and all. Dr. Rosenrosen
c3k
Guys, there's a simple explanation: they're GREEN. Now, sure, some of you folks are city dwellers. The rest of us know that when the forests are GREEN, they don't burn!! The danger time is when they're DRIED, or during FALL. But, really, GREEN is okay. No big fire danger..... Madmatt
Actually, I am going to look into this to make sure nothing is amiss. I know that units are running out of buildings that are on fire but I need to run some tests for other terrain types. Anything I find will be addressed in CMAK if neccesary. markshot
Thanks, Matt. This took place in the Yelnia Stare mission with the CMBB Internet purchased version patched to v1.03. (I had never played the demo missions.)
xerxes
Troops won't stay in a flaming area very long. Yes, being in woods that are catching fire is scary, but I doubt that it's as scary as staring down the barrel of a T34 packing cansister. CMBO was flawed in it's modelling of things catching fire and having the entire tile/house burst into flames instantly. CMBB specifically fixed that problem.
