Help spend BTS's money!

Recommended Posts

Since CM has been such an enormous hit, I was thinking that the friendly board members should help find ways for BTS to spend those wheelbarrows full of money they have lying around. (I imagine the house is getting full of them by now).

First off, to settle the "Vehicles moving too fast across open ground" debate, I am thinking BTS could use an M-2 White Scout car: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=535695008

To settle the HMG running debate I would suggest getting a MG-34 (couldnt find a -42) : http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=535586295&ed=979006108

and some ammo cans: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=532582931&ed=978492038

and a a tripod: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=532805535&ed=978811646

Throw in a panzerfaust for AT defense: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=535527945

or two: http://www.pacificcoast.net/~gmax/ordnance/P100m.htm

So help BTS out, post some links. They need the room smile.gif

The Sportsman's Guide sometimes has demilitarized MG42s and M1919s.

Gaustav, I have check the site but I cannot find it. Can you be more specific? TIA.

I think BTS money is best spent on hiring more people and make CM2 come faster -- I mean programmers but not marketing people. biggrin.gif

They have m1919 barrels in stock (50 and 80 dollars US depending if its .308 or .30/06), and demilled MG34's (800 US). I would love a demilled MG-34 but they wont ship them to California.

Though it is a tag expensive, that MG34 is pretty good. However, I don't think I can get it to import to Hong Kong either.

I said sometimes. At least, they did a few years ago.

They've got Bren guns, though. There's no link, but go to www.sportsmansguide.com/ and do a search for Bren.

You have to be careful about dashes, MG-34 comes up with nothing on a search, but MG34comes up with 2 items, for example.

I wonder if there are functional MG34's still around for the civilian who has everything?

Not that I plan to use it against live targets, but it would be "like, totally kool" to go to a target range with one of those bad-boys!

Yes if you have NFA certs u can do this: http://vision-forge-graphics.com/jesse/shooting/winter_99-shoot.htm

but if u live in California or NY it is pretty much impossible to get an Full Auto due to state laws. Also you have to have a LOT of money.

Wow! Longmountain (pvt. Ryan's link) has Reisings. Too bad the link doesn't work. My grandpa carried one with the marines. He says he hated it, and swapped it for an M1 as soon as he could. **Grognard quiz**- What is a Reising, and why was it hated?

A guy I knew was in a WWII recreation society as part of a Waffen SS unit. They had a Czech built 251 HT mounting an MG34 that fired wooden bullets. There was a splitter on the end of the barrel that turned the bullets into sawdust. They also had MP40's. One of the members had a federal firearms license and he bought all the automatic weapons (the members paid for them but he did the transactions) and kept them between outings. They were an interesting group.

The Reising Model 50 was not popular in combat. The United States Marines had adopted the Reising early in the Pacific campaign as a stop-gap weapon until they could obtain sufficient

quantities of the Thompson submachine guns. Unfortunately, they had a propensity to jam if even small amounts of dirt were introduced into the mechanism, particularly in the bolt-locking

recess. And, as any Pacific Theater veteran can affirm, jungle combat is dirty work indeed. On Guadalcanal, most of the Reisings issued to Marines were dumped in the river, and the gun

was withdrawn from service soon afterward.

There is a book about the Reising on this site:

God, I love Google!

There are several reenactor groups out here in California. If you search around the 'faust page I posted above you can see one of the groups aiming a 'faust at a T-34.

Looks like we got a grog here. I wonder who decdided that an SMG should have a 12 round clip? Less than 2 seconds of sustained fire.
