Just downloaded this demo and was "playing" the German side. Anyway, I know this is probably an idiotic question (there's no stupid questions, just idiots who ask them, right?), how in the heck do you invade Belgium and get your troops off the Maginot Line?? If you play the Allied side, I noticed this happens immediately.

Everytime I've played the Germans and there's German air support, the dummies kept strafing my own tanks and infantry! I've even watched them blow the heck out of previous dispatched T-34s! I guess they didn't have Wheaties on the east front!

I'd love to see a US Civil War version.

Thank you all for your kind words. I hope you don't think I'm wearing my emotions on my sleeve. This is the first time in a few months that I checked Battlefront.com out and noticed the CMBB is scheduled to ship on Sept. 20. It just kinda hit me between the eyes...

Some of you may remember a post I made probably around April about my buddy struggling against colon cancer and that CMBO was the only thing that really kept his mind engaged. He was very worried he'd never see the "East Front" version of the game. Well, he won't as he passed away on July 4th. We really loved CMBO and it was even more important for the two of us to play as it was the only thing he could look forward to. He had to quit his job, etc, and this was the only thing he had for entertainment. The game was very theraputic to him. And I appreciate the designers of the game creating this program. It gave us a reason to interact on something other than his condition. We had been friends and "war gamers" since we were 13 years of age. He was 45. So pratically we've known each other for life. I guess those who created this game never really considered how it could provide some relief and distractions to someone in serious need of it. Funny how life turns out like that. I thank you all deeply for this. I've not played CMBO since because it's a bit painful, but I still have all his PBEM games we were playing saved. I can't bring myself to delete them. I sure wish he could have seen the new game. He'd ask me just about every day if it was "out". And usually add "I'll never see it" when I told him it was coming. I guess I'll order this one...eventually. One of these days. But I think it will be awhile. I don't know yet. I can't even tell you why I'm posting this. Mainly, I guess, is to thank the company for developing CMBO. It truly is a remarkable game. The game was certainly a conduit strengthening the bond I had with my friend during a time he needed a distraction and a challenge.

Anyone know where there are websites to download good operations "files"? I know of some, but am wanting to expand my list. Thanks in advance!

I have a very close friend I PBEM and he is terminal with colon cancer. He says this game is the only thing that keeps his mind engaged. He also regrets that he'll never see the east front version of the game. It rips me up just thinking about it, and although I've played this game just about every day for over a year, it's been hard 'cause I associate it with my life long friend's condition. It's a great game and as long as my friend can, he'll be playing it too.

Boy, I can't wait!! When's this puppy ready? PanzerLeader, did you happen to ask if we'll be able to designate armor to fire only on hard targets? I would love to be able to designate "hard targets only" especially in ambush mode and armor coming up a road behind infantry.

I had a Puma whack itself by firing at a jeep crew at about 10 meters...I couldn't believe how stupid that was...I was so honked that I ran my surviving Puma crew into a position of known .50 cals...so in an effect, excuting my Puma crew for being so stupid to blow themselves up!

For what it's worth...I've actually paid for this game three times...I've purchased it for me and bought two more games as gifts. I find it strange that you've actually received a response from BTS (refer to Madmax's post) and you've "failed" to reference this in your "complaint".

I send filename1 and get back filename2. I open filename2, move, watch or pray, and then send back filename3. I get filename4 and so on and so on....

Excuses? I don't need excuses as long as I can still get away with slipping her a mickey of Contacts or Bendryl! Not only does it clear her nasal passages, but it does wonders for my gaming time!

This would be a great option to have. I would also like to see target selections...like fire on only hard targets, fire at everything, fire on soft targets less than 50 yards, etc, etc... I can't stand it when a zook team in hiding opens up on infantry!

Now there's an interesting tweak...fuel limitations. Too bad that's not an option you can turn off and on. Would really be a factor.

I guess the same reason why quad .50's on half tracks aren't in the game...they couldn't cover it all. Boy, would have loved to have a quad fifty!

Very interesting analysis. I've had a gut feeling that MG weren't as effective as they should be...hence, I have rushed lone MG positions and bunkers knowing that enough will get thru to take the position. Same with unsupported bunkers...just a quick bonzai charge to the door and you've got it sometimes with very few casualities.
