Here are the parameters for the second round. Two things have changed from the rules....First, the players will choose their own units as in the first round.....secondly the points have been bumped up to 1500.

Here are the settings;

Type---------------combined arms

Forces------------already set

Quality------------medium

Purchase Units- *player*

Battle Type-------meeting engagement

Force Size-------*1500*

Map Size----------medium

Date----------------dec. 44

So there you have it. Everything is in place for the Semi-finals. Good luck.

Good show Vonshrad;

Looking forward to the next one.

Any non-advancers want to get a game started?

I think there was a mistake in my total average. It should have been 14, not 13, so I shouldn't be taken lightly! smile.gif

Any takers up for the challenge gimme a buzz.

VS,

What made you change your mind on the amount of points and we choose the troops as opposed to the computer?

You sure snuck up on me. I've never picked 1500pts before.

(Rubbing my hands and snickering)

This is going to be bloody, very bloody.

Ted,

I wanted to go with pick your own troops because I feared that the comp. might not pick the right forces for the style of play each player has. I didn't want a game of this magnitude to be decided by the computer. Although I like to play automatically chosen forces in games against the AI, I do prefer to pick my own during PBEM play.

How do the others feel? I definitely don't want to screw up the tourney with this change but I thought it would be more fair.

As to the size going up it is the result of the quickness of play you guys have shown. I also think a bigger game is more appropriate for the second round. Then we can make the final a MONSTER.

VS

PS. Def that score is 13 NOT 14. How dare you insult me by saying I can't average out a score. You will die for that. Expect a file later today!

Def, can you play some icq tonight? I want a marathon.

I was worried about the computer picking the forces too. I did a couple of test scenario's and the Germans seemed to get more armor. The Allies for some reason kept getting Half-tracks and Priests, no Shermans. Once the Americans just got a pair of Stuarts to go up against two Pumas and two Hetzers (and no Bazookas to boot). Against the AI it was possible to win but against one of the Not-So-Second Rounders it would have been near impossible. So it's OK by me.

How long is this second round anyway? I guess we're going into 2001.

I'll email Peter and Pvt. Pike and give them a heads up.

Pete's address doesn't seem to be on the list of original Not-So members. Is he some kind of ringer or something wink.gif

VS if you could send me his address or give him a heads up we'll get the ball rolling.

Thanks.

Damn, I wish I could have finished my game with Basil. I was romping him, it would have raised my score a whole lot. Popped both his tanks and had his infantry surrounded and being smashed with little loss of my own. Oh well, such is luck.

Yeah, I got screwed by him bailing out too. Oh well.
