Erwin
Amazed to see an AA truck destroy an enemy aircraft which seemed to crash and make a big hole onmap a few hundred meters away. IIRC I have only seen a couple shot down (in modern CM2 with missiles) but they seemed to go down offmap. Never b4 seen one crash onmap. (One doesn't see any plane just a massive explosion and hole in the ground.) Was wondering if that is due to an update, or just a one in a million event.
Pelican Pal
Planes crashing on map has been a thing for quite a long time. As far as I can remember at least since Red Thunder's release 8 years ago(?!) but I'd venture it was able to occur as soon as AAA was added.
Erwin
So an update... It was fun to see - also red text appeared over the truck saying "aircraft destroyed". I hadn't seen that b4 either.
Sgt.Squarehead
I'd guess it's down to aircraft being a feature of WWII scenarios less often.....It's certainly been happening for a while.
Pelican Pal
So I think it was introduced with CM:BN since that game also introduced AAA. However, maps back then were way smaller so the odds of an on map impact are likely less.
Bulletpoint
I'm pretty sure that the odds of shooting down an enemy plane have also been increased in a patch since AA was introduced.
Sgt.Squarehead
I'd agree that aircraft do seem more vulnerable now, but I couln't say for sure there's been a change, it just feels that way.
Redwolf
You people need to stop buying Shilkas in WW2...
