John Kettler
Would be willing to be describing the event below scientifically would take a lot of complex math and physics. For me, it would be a much simpler. I'd cut myself just trying it! Regards, John Kettler

Sgt.Squarehead
Here's one for the modellers amongst us.....This 1/72 scale kit has no aftermarket parts on it whatsoever, this is what you can build straight out of the box (if you are good): Gents, we've come a long, long way from Airfix, Revell & Monogram!
John Kettler
Andy, That's tremendously impressive--starting with the dexterity and fine motor control necessary to get all that etched brass in the right place. Did you know the Monogram !/32 scale Panzer IV/H is still available, with all its myriad early 1970 period defects, for $40.00? Today's discovery has given me a whole new perspective on American philosopher Henry David Thoreau, who's work has had a wholly unknown to most impact on our lives, especially those of school children. John Kettler
Here's something which was a big enough deal to make national news in the UK--and is of direct interest to people like us. Seems a wanted to be a soldier collected 100,000 figures, and that doesn't count other related items, either.http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-wiltshire-43907540 Regards, John Kettler

Yeah.....Kit manufacturers like to get every penny from their tooling, but with stuff like that Modelcollect BMP available for more or less the same price, who's really going to buy it?
John Kettler
Andy, The Renwal stuff can be had, too, and I'm certain the M42 Duster (saw it 2 years ago in Tacoma, WA) and the T19 Tank Destroyer were the first AFV models I ever built/helped build. Am reasonably certain the 280 mm Atomic Annie isn't available, though. Years ago, some guy found the manuals in a surplus store and accurized the Renwal model to a fare thee well. https://boxartden.com/gallery/index.php/Boxart-Collection A tiny sample of its holdings. John Kettler
Many here will know of the Onion, a clearly labeled satire site people somehow believe is real news and get all worked up about anyway. Then there's Duffel Blog, which satirizes military news. Stumbled across a real doozy a few minutes ago. It's called The Babylon Bee, and it bills itself as "Your source for Christian satire." It's got some 425K FB fans and 99K+ Twitter Followers. Regards, John Kettler Edited May 19, 2018 by John Kettler

John Kettler
Redirects lead to all sorts of strange discoveries, and I found myself deposited on a page which asserted it could determine a certain vital male stat based on Starbucks coffee preference! Showed pictures and named the variety, of which there were quite a few. Rattled me a bit, but I wasn't eligible anyway, since I don't drink coffee at Starbucks--or generally anywhere else, either, save to the tune of about a cup or two a year. Else, we'd have this! John Kettler
This story blew my mind when I came across it, doubly so because I took four years of Latin, medaled twice and was briefly (until my family crash moved in my senior year to California) President of the South Carolina Junior Classical League. Erwin
The combination of a crumbling education system and political correctness gone mad. Wasn't it Hitler who said that all the untermensch needed to learn was to count to ten and say "yes" and "no". He woulda been proud at how we are slowly achieving his aims...
