kohlenklau
Hmmmmm. I need a "German pioneer bridge" over the Dvina river since my Vitebsk urban bridge had been blown sky high by 27.6.44. Anyone ever fart around with modding bridges? I know Juju has beautified them. Didn't CMX1 have a pontoon bridge if I recall correctly? It would be a great item to put in a "pack". Hint hint hint Have we even been offered any "packs" yet? Maybe I missed the announcement.

No packs have been announced as about to be released. I agree that a temp bridge would be a great pack addition.

MikeyD
What's wrong with the current big wooden bridge?
umlaut
I have farted around quite a bit with modding bridges lately (as you´ll probably see before too long) And after having a look at the bridges in game, my view is that none of them can be modded into a pontoon bridge. Remember: We can only alter the texture, not the shape.
kohlenklau
MikeyD, You asked: What's wrong with the current big wooden bridge? Answer: Ooops! Nothing really. In the map editor for that bridge the tiny image in the palette shows the Arnhem bridge style with the curved upper portion. It fooled me. OK, I am good to go for now.
kohlenklau
Thanks MikeyD for pointing that out to me. Map now back in progress...
GhostRider3/3
Since we are talking about bridges... Can we blow them up? I think I remember in CMBB you could target a bridge and blow it with a lot of HE rounds, or engineers with a couple demo charges.
emccabe
I dont think you can
umlaut
Here´s how I understand it: You can blow all but the heavier bridges, but only with artillery. It takes a lot of rounds - and satchels charges are not going to do it. BFC have stated that blowing bridges with pioneers and charges requires so much preparation that it is outside the timeframe of a CM battle.
GhostRider3/3
Ok cool to know Umlaut.. At least bridges are capable of being blown up... good to know. and thanks.
