dan/california
The new, completely over the top, Mac Pro is getting here TODAY. What do I buy and what order do I install it in. I want to end up with Normandy, all the modules and of course the latest version of the second generation engine. I am not even going to whine for a break for owning some of this in Windows already. Just tell me what to do in what order. P.S. the store might need a little work.......
YankeeDog
Congrats on the Mac Pro. Jealous. Not that I actually need that much computer, but I'm still jealous... As far as I know, you just need to make two purchases: the CMBN + Commonwealth Bundle (Mac) ($55), and the Market Garden & 2.0 bundle (Mac) ($40). You will also need to download a couple of the patches (for which there is no additional charge). Exact install order is detailed on Page 9 of the Market Garden game manual, which you can download off of the MG Module info page if you want to take a look prior to purchase: http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=324&Itemid=561 I would also suggest downloading and running the demo on your fancy new machine before purchase. 99% everything will be fine, but very occasionally there is a problem unique to a specific hardware setup. Since the new Mac Pro new to the market, you will probably be one of the very first to play CMBN on it and therefore you get to be the guinea pig. Better to test with the free demo before you spend (more of) your hard earned money.
poesel
CMBN + 2.0 update, CW and MG I suggest CMFI & GL, too because if you bought the Pro it won't matter much in comparison and you will buy it anyway
altipueri
I thought it all came free with Windows 8.1.
dan/california
Thanks for the help. I played so little of Normandy because of problems with my old laptop that it will take me three months just to get through a fair piece of that.
Wicky
+1 YankeeDog - Try the demo first in case there's problems with the new hardware. I can play CMBN but not CMFI on my earlier Mac Pro.
dan/california
Try the demo first in case there's problems with the new hardware. You really know how to pop someones bubble don't you. As with most bubble popping it hurts worse when your right. I should so have paid for guaranteed morning delivery!
Wicky
:-) Tell us the specs then. I'm relying on you so I can get a later better Mac Pro as the second hand prices tumble.

Guest
+1 YankeeDog - Try the demo first in case there's problems with the new hardware. I can play CMBN but not CMFI on my earlier Mac Pro. Did you put a ticket in help desk? Do you have the ticket ID? I've run CM on ALL sorts of Macs. Even on an Intel GMA 950 (though it didn't run *well*, of course). We do occasionally have issues with ATI/AMD drivers, because they're terrible.
Wicky
I did open up a ticket for the CMFI demo not working due to this error without any resolution. In the end I have to play on a pc which is a shame as the mac is better specced. (Mac Pro 2,1 - 2 x 2.66 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon. 8GB RAM, ATI 5770, OSX10.7.5) The CMBN Demo works fine
Michael Emrys
The new, completely over the top, Mac Pro is getting here TODAY. So how's that working for you? I am doubtful that I will be able to afford one, but I can dream, can't I? Michael
dan/california
Its a MacBook Pro, not the heavy iron. Though the specs for the new version of the heavy iron are as good as tech porn gets. Unfortunately one of my kids fell down the deck stairs and landed at the dentist office and my weekend has been rather less relaxing than planned. On the plus side the new all in one bundle that just came out will save me a great deal of installation time.
John Kettler
dan/california, Did you see the two new bundle deals for CMBN? The first adds CW, MG, the 2.0 upgrade and all patches to bring the game up to 2.12, the current top state of the game. The other is a total CMBN package--with everything in it! Thought you should know. Regards, John Kettler
