Sublime
the ammo sharing and bldgs are nice, but I really wanna talk about the new advantages to infantry inside cities. The elevation limit news is very promising IMO
John Kettler
MikeyD, Since we now will have independent buildings, do we get anything like the small stone building of the CMBO days of yore? From what I can tell, the only way to get a stone building in CMBN is to have a fairly large one, yet there are good pics from Normandy depicting standalone small, tough, stone buildings. One such pic has a Panzerschreck team moving down the side of it. Also, is there any mechanism in place to allow AFVs to cross level not merely MG ammo but main gun ammo? This was common practice during lulls in the fighting in order to keep up overall unit effectiveness. Really sucks to lose the only tank in the platoon that has decent ammo supply while the others barely have any, yet live! Michael Emrys
Also, is there any mechanism in place to allow AFVs to cross level not merely MG ammo but main gun ammo? This was common practice during lulls in the fighting in order to keep up overall unit effectiveness. Seems unlikely that any lull in the fighting in a CM battle would be long enough to make this workable. At least some crew members would have to exit their vehicles to make this happen, and tankers are famously reluctant to do that if bullets and shell fragments are still flying in the vicinity. What kind of lulls do you have in mind? The ones I have read about seemed to last at least the best part of an hour, maybe more. They were long enough to allow the vehicles to retire to a designated secure rally point. Michael
umlaut
The new buildings are in addition to the previous Normandy buildings. You can use them side by side if you want to. That is what I was hoping for. The more different buildings available, the more realistically looking towns you can make. Great news.
poorfish
Actually, while the other stuff might be nice, I like the "Options (page 9): Added new toggle. Alt-M will toggle War Movie Mode." Wondering if this 'movie' is exportable ...
umlaut
Wondering if this 'movie' is exportable ... Nope, it is a graphics setting that makes the game look more like war movies (Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, etc). You can find more info about it in the Fortress Italy forum. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8107/8642240772_aa19766c94_b.jpg http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=109386&highlight=war+movie+mode&page=5
poorfish
Too bad. That would have been a niffty feature. And maybe sold a few more games ...?
Vanir Ausf B
You can always record with Fraps or some other video capture program. Bil Hardenberger does it in his AARs.

John Kettler
poorfish, Haven't used these myself, but I believe your answer's in here. Perhaps someone way more savvy than I am on things Mac would care to comment? key phrase: free video capture for mac on www.download.usual Regards, John Kettler
Freyberg
I used one on Mac called ScreenCast-O-Matic (I think) that was free and did the job more or less. Plus something like iMovie if you want to edit stuff into a bigger movie.
poesel
Have mac, not pc --- frapp is pc. cannot find mac free game recorder. Know of any? Yes, its called 'Quick Time Player' Look in the menu - there is an entry for screen recording. What it can not do is capture the sound from CM (there are programs which do that). To get sound you need to connect line-out to mic-in with a cable. ... Ok now this made me curious because it has been quite a while since I did this. This thread discusses the issue: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1386206 QT player with soundflower (http://code.google.com/p/soundflower/) (here is a nice explanation what it does: http://osxdaily.com/2013/02/25/record-system-audio-mac-os-x-soundflower/) seems to be the current free solution. Works but comes without bells and whistles. Commercial solutions: http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/ is free for the first 10 minutes of recording. http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/snapzprox/ has a 15 day trial and then puts a watermark on the video. http://www.telestream.net/screenflow/overview.htm has a trial but behind a registration. Audio grabbing: http://www.rogueamoeba.com/audiohijackpro/ http://osxdaily.com/2012/11/16/record-mac-audio-output-easy-wavtap/ I have not tested any of the solutions above yet but will report back as soon as I do.
