Ranger33
Any opinions on Unity of Command? I like the style and apparently it has really good AI, I just wonder if there is enough content to justify spending $30.
kipanderson
Hi, The only wargames I rate are Combat Mission. Command Ops, the best operational game by far and with a recent patch has hit new standards for operational simulations. Scourge of War. An American Civil War simulation that does that era superbly. All three of the above are in a different league to all others. All the best, Kip.

From my review: 'Be careful what liquid or hallucinatory substance you intake while playing UoC. I could picture one of those little busts spilling out of one's monitor and landing on the desk with a thud. Then fixing you with a basilisk stare until you turn to stone. Agua
Hi, The only wargames I rate are Scourge of War. An American Civil War simulation that does that era superbly. All the best, Kip. I had a couple of the Take Command series I haven't played in several years, and your post piqued my interest. SoW looks quite similar. I went over to the TC forum quickly and it doesn't look like there has been any development since TC2 and the membership is migrating to SoW. Is there a background story there?
Vanir Ausf B
One of the devs who made the Take Command games is doing SoW. His divorce from the other guy at Mad Minute Games was somewhat less-than amicable. There was internet drama. I had one of the Take Command games (the last one, don't remember what battle it was), and really liked it. I may take a look at SoW.
Agua
Thanks. Just curious. Got the impression that there would be no further development on TC and the community wasn't really that upset with moving to the new game.
goochy123
The one thing that Panzer Corps has over CMBN is the simplicity of the multiplayer system e.g. drop in lobby accept or create a game challenge and away you go with a turn a day or whatever you need and email notifications. No packaging files etc. Just wish CM set something up similar or as simple in the future. I am new to this game and am still reading about this PBEM etc. Not even done a MP game yet but will do soon. I assume there is a mod that makes MP games easier in CMBN?

GreenAsJade's H2H Helper does exactly that, all you need is a free DropBox account and the files will be transferred automatically from one player to another and it will inform you of new turns and even has an in-built chat. I hope that BFC eventually integrates this functionality in one way or another.
LJFHutch
World of Tanks? I never really considered that a wargame ...
JonS
Interesting WoT story here: http://www.stuff.co.nz/technology/games/7139244/Gamers-donate-30-000-to-RSA Good on them. But ... what the heck is that tank? A Sherman? A Cromwell? A Churchill? A Churchmanwell?
MikeyD
Oh wait, maybe its one of those pre-Pershing experimental tanks. (I pull out my autographed copy of Hunnicutt's 'Pershing') Damn, I do believe its an early design T23 with Sherman suspension and 76mm gun. That is soooo cool. World of Tanks isn't so much a 'wargame' as it is tank buff porn.
