  1. K-Mart Australia sells an excellent mouse for AU$12 maybe Walmart USA sells a similar product. Never had a problem playing CM with it. That is what I like about CM you get by without an expensive gaming keyboard or a gaming mouse.
  2. The reason I value the M4 Sherman Easy 8 as the best all round tank in WW2. It's HQ in the game can call in air support and artillery. The C2 is the queen if you use Chess as an analogy. It enables units to strike anywhere on the battlefield. Using your PC as the C2 is well in my opinion kidding yourself. Kind regards.
  3. You get the effect with a cover-arc (very large) sometimes.
  4. Private Chernov returns to IS2 the IS 2 will get the contact icon also
  5. During the game I make a book as I go along. It functions as an AAR. I do it with photo processing software. That way I know the next day where I left the battle.
  6. The C2 will mark it as a contact, it is the basis of the game and the reason I play on Iron. You have vertical and horizontal communication. You must make sure your unit is in communication with its HQ eventually the contact will be transmitted through it hierarchy. It is what makes playing Soviet in F&R the challenge. Example a tank rider unit. We don't want a valuable IS2 destroyed. We send a tank rider squad ahead, scout and his squad leaders' team. They spot armor now, they need to make their way back to their AFV. Upon mounting or standing next to the AFV (unbuttoned) their contact will be shared with their AFV. The AFV (with radio) will share the contact with his HQ. Your method will occur losses (my opinion) The unit with the contact is likely to score a hit before a unit without it. Spoiler (Seelow scenario) The squad has binoculars here is what they see. As they have been spotted by infantry the German armor is unaware. But is their infantry nearby?
  7. I hope so too and will follow you. As a suggestion in briefings something like SMEAC at least the Situation (A lot of scenarios doesn't give you the time.) Mission and Execution. Suggestions which companies and their strengths. This is what I try to do when I read a scenario and sometimes it is very cryptic. Kind regards.
  8. WEGO sometimes RTS by mistake and then I have a WTF moment think it is a bug. WEGO You can literally put you in the shoes of every individual trooper and make decisions and gather every tiny but important intel. I play on Iron, sub machinegun and binoculars it is possibly a recon unit (as an example). Possibly but not sure for hundred percent.
  9. I agree with @ratdeath read the missions before we must open the game. They even could offer it as an after sales service on their website. Or promote it to turn it into sales.
  10. They could look into the making of screenshots and video making. Screenshots takes 2 or 3 tries with pressing 'print-screen' on the keyboard. Window+Shift+S doesn't work. Safe a turn, go back and record it would be nice. Just to share on this forum.
  11. It is useful for a protocol. Pre-arranged: "In position lift boxing barrage." A boxing barrage screens you from the enemy." I don't expect a fancy animation. Just take one cartridge from the inventory. Artillery really underwent a revolution during WW2. The US innovation of the proximity fuse had a secrecy 0n the level of the Manhattan project. I just try to make some sense of the Soviet attack on Seelow according to BF. I play the game according to their protocol but hard to distinguish between of what is generic and what is not. Thanks for your attention.
  12. @DanonQM Thanks for your references, in my humble opinion CM should also include the Signal Pistol with their AT batteries. I like to be a stickler for C2 organization. Here is one of your references.
  13. How did you manage to become a tester? I regard you as a rude and uncouth person. yes, I forgot you can't question testers my apologies for that. In real life the Soviets employed 1 artillery piece for every 2 meters.
  14. For illustration purposes the Panther can't see inside the building he can certainly plot a fire mission inside it. It works when you can fire at the 2nd floor but the AI gives you a No-LOS. I go inside the building and plot an LOF.
  15. First thank you for your comment. Unless they have X-Ray eyes, I can't see how they see through the shed and beyond the little wall. I try here to be of assistance of @zmoney of how to throw grenades indirectly. I play at present Seelow in F&R; I had already secured the position. Conditions to throw grenades: the team needs to have grenades; this assault team has 14. When a squad comes close to the objective, I split them up. Assault and Support. Morale needs to be OK (Nervous people do silly things with grenades). They need to be trained (Regular or Up). I have used this method for the last five years at least. LOS and LOF are two different things. When you plot a LOF it means Line of Fire it shows what you can hit. LOS means what you can see. Sometimes you have LOS but you can't hit and sometimes you have LOF, but you can't see. Try to put a 60mm mortar just behind a crest it can plot an LOF to an MG42 but the MG42 can't fire back. Not sucking out of my thumb but tactics I use. @RockinHarry your comment, I read it and appreciate it.
  16. Unfortunately, my screenshot didn't process my line of fire. To let you assault team plot their hand grenades indirectly you plot a line of fire. You will see their line of fire turn grey. This is what you want as the only weapon they can use is their hand grenades. I drew a grey line in my photo processing software. Take my word on the screen it turned grey.
  17. I find success comes when you leave the initiative to the TacAI. Peel off assault team morale ok experience regular or better, fitness ready or rested. 10 to 15 meters for foxholes or adjacent to buildings. Play against yourself on hotseat difficulty basic training to test and experiment.
  18. Korean War we are halfway there. With FB and the RT, FR Bundle we could play it.
  19. Does it make a difference when the player orders a 'Bail Out'? It appears there is no morale hit, you bail them out as they are in full view of enemy AT assets. If they are bailed out by the AI they usually go down to 'Rattled'. Recent experience a Panther had it main gun disabled but the AI just let it reverse and waited till it was destroyed. To be abandoned could be coded and the crew would deemed to have destroyed the vehicle. Like they do with field artillery. Kind regards.
  20. You need to provide screenshots. When you peel off an assault team typically 3 men from the section, they will have most of the grenades and will throw them. On top of that you keep an eye out on morale and experience.
  21. It is a real town they also used to make Wankel Engines somewhere in Germany.
  22. If there are genuine obstacles eg a river. Just click a waypoint over the other side and a convoy goes over a bridge if there is one. The problem is orchards or wading areas. Wish there were a road-order that should be possible. Made suggestions in regard to Bezier Curves but unless we study the engine in depth there is no solution apparently.
  23. Play around with Word there are more languages to choose from apart from English. Kind regards.
  24. If I have a green unit who is nervous, I withdraw it. I don't let it fire at anything usually it comes out second best. Attrition instead of maneuver is not the best at times it is suicidal with units which have poor morale.
