CMA: Soviet Early Summer Uniform By Oleksandr

This mod will provide you with khaki colored early soviet summer uniforms.

Certain details were added to early years summer uniforms.

    Pretty much everything was retextured.
Due to minimalism in provided game textures – modding this game is complicated.
But the longest work starts from the smallest step. So here we go.

    CMA: Guards BTR-60 By Oleksandr

This mod will add reworked BTR-60 to this game. These vehicles were used by Soviets in throughout the war. They were also used by DRA forces as their main apc.

Interesting fact – these BTRs were used in one of the first operation of KGB + GRU special forces in Afghanistan – Palace of Amin Assault .

It was then when Soviets understood that jumping off this thing wasnt very safe. In that operation few KGB special forces operators died specifically because of the design of these things.

Yet, operation itself was a major success for Soviets. According to Soviet side sources soviets lost only 20 men (5 KGB operators, 9 paratroopers, 6 members of “Muslim” battalion) while killing nearly 800 men (400 men according to western sources) from Amins security forces, including himself and 2 of his sons. Obviusly such kill/death ratio became possible because certain factors were involved – massive usage of supressive fire provided by Shilkas, and additional support from BMP’s.
Anyhow this vehicle is still in use today in many countries, and I hope that you will enjoy this fresh look during your personal Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
    Enjoy!

Nice paint job, love the rims, looks roomy inside too.....I'll take it for a test-drive!
The chipping effects are very nicely done.....One thing a lot of scale modellers add these days, but which I've not noticed on virtual models, is 'rain streaking' where pale looking streaks of dust & dirt are deposited on the hull sides by rain-water.
This video shows how it's done on a scale model:

CMA: 101st Motorized Rifle Regiment BTR-70 By Oleksandr

This mod adds recamouflaged BTR-70 + a tactical sign of “101st Motorized Rifle Regiment.”

101st Motorized Rifle Regiment was deployed in Afghanistan in late December of 1979 and remained there up untill January 1989. It was an active element of  “5th Guards Zimnovnikovskaya Order of Kutuzov Motorized Rifle Division Named After the 60th Anniversary of the USSR” division (and yes this is the name of the unit, yes that long).

101st Motorized Rifle Regiment took an active role in several major USSR operations in Afghanistan.

I'll also briefly address unmanned turrets.

So my time on tanks is rapidly becoming a distant past for me, so your mileage may vary, however:

    1. The advantage to the autoloader is size, not performance.  Having the fourth crewman was very useful for a variety of reasons, and it was a superior way to service the gun (the ROF is overrated though, in practice a tank will never fire anywhere near "rapidly" simply because it has to acquire targets, and the delay in shooting is usually "finding target" vs prepping the gun tasks).  He also was very handy if there was a fault (we had a gunnery were the breach kept getting stuck not fully closed, on a tank with an autoloader, we'd have been a firepower kill not mission capable, or only capable if the gunner/commander manual actuated the breach, with the loader, he just hooked up a little tool designed for such occasions, and manually operated the breach with no loss of ROF or capability).  The only time I see an autoloader making sense over the current human loader is if we start talking about much larger gun rounds (like 140 MM) simply because it'll be beyond the ability of a normal human to load.

    2. I'm opposed to the unmanned turret for the same reason.  The undeniable advantage is having a smaller turret, although you'll still need some volume to allow the gun to depress to a reasonable degree), but I really don't like the idea of the turret effectively sealed and inaccessible.  There's a lot of systems on a turret that without either a human to fix them, or a fairly direct mechanical backup renders the tank totally inoperable.  A loss of the gunner's primary optics, the autoloader, turret drive, or even just a jam in the coaxial weapon all mean the tank is either done, cannot perform combat missions, or requires pulling the tank back to dismount and work on it.

It's not just armor or firepower, it's being able to manage damage, or degraded system and continue the fight.  Automation is good as a starting point, but there's a reason why we trained using the various mechanical backups, and why the true judge of a crew wasn't at fully mission capable, but instead how it operated when things broke.
I've seen enough go weird on otherwise fully functional tanks to really feel foolish making a lot of those systems inaccessible in normal operations, or eliminating redundant mechanical systems.

Here's Taiwan's CM11 tank circa 2015. Wow, when they said refurbished M60s, the REALLY meant M60s!

This was an awesome moment. In a recent loss to @slysniper things were not going smoothly for me. My T64s were dying fast vs his T90s and my units were withdrawing as fast as they could. At this point I figured I was done for and would not even last out the full clock. His forces had just cleared the tree line and were now exposed to my Skif teams (I had several, four I think) that were waiting for just that moment. The first one fired and missed and died shortly after. My heart sank. But then the next two turns other ATGM teams took out four T90s. In that moment the attack momentum faltered and I ran down the clock still holding on to one of the objectives. I still lost - big but it was not a total route and I lasted the time on the clock. This is one of those kills. The most interesting because...
    The shot

    The target is returning fire

Lucky, this team gets to live to fire again

    Looks a little low

It is low but still finds home

How low was it? Really low...

CMBS: “EFVC” Bradley IFV Pack By Oleksandr

This mod will provide you with all Bradleys being retextured and recamouflaged.

“EFVC” (Eastern Front Vehicle Camouflage) camo pattern was a thing I came out with while thinking about what would happen if America would make a step into hybrid conflict such as one in Ukraine, or in Moldova, or in Belarus and so on. I wasn’t happy with current camouflage what I think is perfect for Western Frontlines and in my opinion would not really fit into Eastern Europe.

So I’ve recamouflaged these Infantry Fighting Vehicles in a camouflage what I think would work for Eastern European Theatre.

The only thing what remains the same at this moment is certain parts of gear on those IFV’s (backpacks are still ocp and stuff like that), but I will fix that with a stand alone mod what will replace all the gear for all American vehicles in this game soon.
Overall I hope that you will enjoy this mod, and I hope that this camouflage would be a nice eye candy for you.

    Tactical lifehack.
I think that it is important for us to share some tactical lifehacks related to this wonderful game.
Please attach screenshot of your knowhow and some description of it.
I think if we will organize our answers that would work better.
So please share your ideas supported by screenshots and detailed description of what it does or what it serves for. Thank you.
Since I’ve started this topic I will provide first lifehack. As you can see on a picture there are some barbered wire around mixed mines. This thing is useful when it is located on the opposite side from your enemy across some river. It should be specifically placed in areas where crossing the river is the most comfortable for your enemy. Simple at first look it turns out very effective in slowing down your enemy. Enemy infantry forces will need to go around or will be forced to use some sappers to go through it. If enemy forces will use armored vehicles to run over that wired thing they will be damaged by mines almost immediately. Even you facing smart opponent who will use engineers this thing can became a mass grave in no time. All you have to do is to place your BMP, or any other armored vehicle on a solid distance from this trap. Your vehicle should have good visual of that area and should be able to fire through it. When your enemy will try to organize some breakthrough it will be forced to slow down, its infantry will need to go around or break through under fire, its vehicles will not be able to advance fast. The main goal of this thing is to slow down your opponent. Furthermore I’ve also checked this thing on human factor.  One of the people I’ve played with faced this trap, he was almost sure that I’m simply wasting my fortifications shaping them in awkward manner. He decided to go through it by using 3 of his BTR’s 82A without even unloading his infantry. The result was dramatic, I had a BMP-2 sitting in ambush around 450 meters away from that spot. I gave certain target arc to my BMP, and in terms of two minutes an entire platoon was smoked out. Then he decided to go through it with bigger forces and that took some time. By the moment he finally passed that thing my arty was already preparing to shell some area in front of him. Conclusion: this thing can be a trap for AI, it can be a trap for a real player, and it is a great way to slow down your opponent. It is also a great way to redirect your opponents plans because most of the people are getting excited when they see some barricades, they really wanna go through them.
Counter act hint: if you want to counter this thing you need to shoot through barricades, deploy smoke, use your engineers and then move on. You can also call an artillery strike on it but that is a waste. If you see this thing I would recommend to cross that river in a different place because price of crossing can be way higher than you think.

It's a shame you don't fancy doing more with CM:A, it's the most neglected of the games (for fairly obvious reasons based on your earlier comments) and it has some pretty irritating flaws, but it's also very unique and a hell of a lot of fun to play.
