  1. Also, remember to use batteries of 152mm rather than platoons of 152mm because Russian howitzers lack a good rate of fire so it is necessary to use six guns to maintain steady suppression.
  2. I would recommend the MTLB with the auto cannon instead of the BTR. The MTLB has more seats for squads and support teams (atgms, FO, ags), is dirt cheap, and from experience the smaller turning radius of the tracked vehicle is useful in urban environments. The armament is still the light 30mm so you won't really lose anything in the firepower department.
  3. Of all the footage and images I've viewed of the Syrian army, not once did I see a single soldier wearing body armor.
  4. The separatists that retreated as well as Russian media claimed that they were fighting "foreign mercenaries" when the freshly mobilized Ukrainian National Guard arrived. They didn't get super wrecked as you think I'm claiming but they were shocked to say the least. You ever watched a drone fly over of military stockpiles near Donetsk? They have f#cking a$$ loads of equipment---rows and rows and rows of Russian T-72 variants, Kamaz trucks, sophisticated anti-aircraft weapons, command and control vehicles, systems of electronic warfare etc, etc, etc. It's makes it really difficult to justify that it was all recovered or stolen or raided or teleported or whatever. You make a good point. The destruction of the control tower was the destruction of a symbol of Ukrainian resistance much like the liquidation of the Zaphorizhian Sich by Catherine the Great in 1775 was. Still has zero strategic value though.
  5. That's the most cheeki breeki set up I've ever seen.
  6. Separatists practically routed from these positions so the Ukrainians did not pay much of a price at all. If you watch watch videos of those battles you will see separatists exhausted and panicked. Where they did pay a price was when Russian line units were involved. This argument itself isn't very convincing. During 2014 there was not a single military base or military stockpile or military factory in Donbass. There is no way that the separatists could have possibly acquired an upwards estimate of 700 tanks and many more APCs, the majority of which were never in the Ukrainain arsenal without extensive Russian support. I think he means the vacationers (Russian far-right groups with military background that were mixed in with separatists), not the official Russian troops. For both airport battles the claims made by both sides are similar: Ukraine lost 200 with about 300 wounded (contentious figure and should be taken with a grain of salt) and the Russians lost 800+ with about 2000 wounded. The land itself is not strategic as the Ukrainian army has line of sight over almost the entirety of the airport and the buildings themselves are practically rubble and the runway is no longer a runway. This is reflected by the fact that both sides are not willing to fight over it in its current state.
  7. They are largely irrelevant. If Russia's satellites are in trouble then Russian motor-rifle troops will be there to save the day. The Russian commanders (the ones that are doing the commanding) still have their experience while Motorola and the likes sit there and look pretty.
  8. If you can slap the amphibious capability of the tactical dolphins on that then you have a contract with the U.S. Army in no time.
  9. Where is the Kontakt-1 ERA featured in-game? I thought that was a relic of older Russian tanks. I don't know much about Soviet tank rounds and couldn't find any satisfactory sources on this topic. Are these changes an improvement or a downgrade to Ukrainian armor? I would appreciate it if someone could provide some specifics about each round. I promised myself a pilgrimage to Mecca if this was fixed. This bug really bothered me for some reason.
  10. Thanks fam. Best case scenario the T-72 has 600mm of frontal armor. The M900 has 650mm of penetration.
  11. Aw man! I was bored all day at school and was thinking about a fire come back to Vlad's response post to my video. I come home with some sick roasts in mind and people are getting sensible? P.S. Battlefront needs to add more emoticons so I can thoroughly express my sorrow.
  12. Never mind. http://www.janes.com/article/62628/us-delivers-raven-uavs-to-ukraine The United States delivered 24 AeroVironment RQ-11B Raven unmanned aircraft systems to Ukraine on 27 July, the US Embassy in Kiev said. The package included 72 hand-launched Raven intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft and associated equipment, which was transported to Boryspil International Airport. "Several dozen Ukrainian soldiers have already completed training on Raven unmanned aircraft system in Huntsville, Alabama," the embassy said. "[The] Raven system is part of the European Reassurance Initiative [ERI] package and on-going security assistance efforts in Ukraine."
  13. The sanctions against Russia by North America, Europe, Australia, and Japan were not designed to target Russian civilian population. They were designed to target banks and the military industrial complex in an attempt to shake up the oligarchy (Putin's power base) and discourage further naughtiness on Putin's part. The sanctions are by no means extensive, so the average Russian is not exactly under much pressure, though the fall of the Ruble has stung the population slightly.
  14. Has the US supplied Ukraine with drones? Are you sure it was specifically a Raven and not a Furia or whatever else the Ukrainians use? Can you cite some sources?
  15. Why is everyone being so spiteful towards John Kettler?
  16. There was an incident in 2014 where a BTR-4 with slat armor was ambushed by Russians and sustained several hits from an RPG-7 and various small arms fire. The vehicle was heavily damaged but was still able to carry on fighting and evacuate a wounded soldier. . Note: One rocket penetrated the unmanned turret (pictured 3rd).
  17. Sound contacts exist in the game and on occasion units will face perceived sound contacts but it is not perfect and sometimes they will not. The RPG has a minimum range in which the rocket will not detonate.
  18. During the last mission of the Ukrainian campaign the briefing states that it is safer for your aviation to attack all at once rather than attack piecemeal. Don't know how accurate this is but ever since I always had aircraft attack simultaneously. This is a bit anecdotal, but because of this I've experienced fewer casualties among my aircraft.
  19. What were Russian "peacekeepers" doing on Georgian territory uninvited? Why did Russia carve of a piece of Georgia that no one but Russia recognizes? Let's mention those minor details first. So you'd be 100% chill with China just rolling in with tanks and taking Northeastern Manchuria (Amur, Khabarovsk, Primorskiy Krai, Sakhalin, and Jewish Autonomous Republic) from Russia provided that the Chinese sponsored referendum votes are only somewhat rigged and the Manchurians are fine with it? They would only be "securing" it as you like to call it.
  20. My internet may be broken. How do I delete my first post? Sorry for the double upload.
  21. Unlikely to the max as I've mentioned before. The first amendment guarantees the right of these alleged separatists to demand, assemble, and campaign for their independence. The very second they use violence they will be crushed because the US has the right to territorial integrity in the same way Ukraine has the right to territorial integrity in the same way that all nations have the right to territorial integrity.
