There are games that make good use of SSD's...funny that i can launch ArmA3, load Altis and have a quick firefight with the AI in the time it takes me to just load a medium sized CMx2 scenario (both games are on a SSD).

    Thanks to let me know.

The option you explained is the same thing what I use now in 1-min turn to disembark. But it is somehow limited to do in critical or subtle situations, and I feel real-time is more helpful for some complicated chains of actions. I really wish the BFC introduce some way to "move vehicle -> disembark boys -> move vehicle" possible in a single turn. (Or I just didn't find the way to do, though it is already there)

Thewood1 is 100% correct, the DRM for the CMx2 games is unfair and way to restrictive, they need to do something about that !

Please don't misquote me, I was not telling you what to do, I was making an inquiry out of curiosity and a possible suggestion within the current situation to at least allow you to be able to play the game.

I don't know your travel requirements and honestly don't care. I travel internationally a lot, just ask my pbem opponents. I just don't play CM when on the road. Yes that sucks, but honestly I am usually too busy to consider a game anyway.

I frankly don't know if BF actually creates the DRM and aren't using another vendors in which case your real complaint is to a third party. If the price though of protecting BFs software is a choice between your inconvience in an admittedly non typical scenario or BF having a less effective DRM then I know which way I go. I know that sucks for you and I am sorry for that. Perhaps BF will come up with another option for something less sensitive but still good enough, but the security of their product does have to come first for the survival of their business.

So I am not allowed to add RAM, update audio drivers, etc.  I have to have a dedicated PC for CM2.  I would suggest doing some searches on the tech forums or on grogheads for people talking about losing activation.

I am not against DRM, I am against it not being implemented correctly.  Again, I'll point out that I am not the only one with this issue.  Go look through CMBN tech forums.

If BFC knows the DRM is overly sensitive, they should fix it.  This particular DRM makes me feel like my PC is held hostage.  Every time I have add anything to my PC, I now have to figure out if it will kill an activation and if its worth it.

I can't believe someone is unreasonable enough to suggest lugging around two PCs.  And then someone thinks its my fault I upgrade it just change some basic configurations.  There is no disclaimer on the purchase page saying you should have a dedicated PC or limit PC upgrades.

I suspect that Windows 10 free upgrade is going to be a joy for many small DRM-laden shops.

I can tell you in emails to me from support, they freely admit their DRM has some issues with being fairly oversensitive to minor changes to a PC config.  I think they have made attempts to fix it and my last go around was less troublesome.  The problem right now is I have used up all my activations with everything except CMBS...through no fault of my own.  I probably have 15 versions of gsclean on my drive.  My main gripe is I have no activations left.  BFC won't reset them.  Every time I get a new PC, I have to submit a ticket and beg for a new activation.  There are others of us in the same situation.  Their poor DRM implementation has taken those activations away, never to return.

Any company that wants to put DRM in their products, all the power to them.  But use one that works.  My gaming time is limited.  I get 4-5 hour spots to play.  I have lost track of the number of times I have gone to fire CM up after adding RAM, a video driver, and even a USB headset, and gotten a DRM kill on my system.  Support usually has it squared away in 24 hours, but by then, I don't have time any more.

they are improving, but they are still lagging alot. if i run 5kilometers under 30 minutes  @2013 and my friends run 10 km for that same time, i am lagging 5 kms. next year, i am running 7kms, but my friends are now running 13kms @2013. apply this analogy for battlefront's improvement.that is core. graphics are beautifull but old fashioned,i could write wall of text about this but theres no point. i personally love the graphics, but still there are shadows problem (BIIIIIIIIIIG PROBLEMS,sometimes they make the game look like complete ****) and animations are horrific, our bias towards CM is making it less awful ,in reality, objectively they are horrible (running annimations primarly) . they are ok , but for 90s , not 2010-2015.

you say gameplay is important, as if i dont know that and as if i didnt say exactly that. but facts are facts.

i am not saying their customer service is bad,its excelent.they are faster than most people and eveythings quality,
i am saying DRM is Psycopathic
Some people, belive it or not, can spend those 4 keys in 1month or 1 year.
customer service has nothing to do with DRM.
yes steam asks you to login every time you want to play (theres offline mode tho) , but that is common in this day and age,i dont see how pressing 1 button and waiting 5 seconds to get all your games on 1 screen with nice quality UI/colors is bad?

Steam also gives you 1-2 click install , everythings automatic and intuitive, on other hand installing CM (and specially in my case after buying MG and then* buying CW) was PAIN. and everytime i want to reinstall ,its kinda painful. specially CMBN with tons of modules

simply put, battlefront is 10 years behind ,but they still make better games than any steam game, even with this 90s technology.and thats why people play it
but face it , they are 10 years behind in graphics, animations, website(love those downloads ),instalations, multiplayer features and interface/accessibility

nothing can change that,no matter how good or bad the game is

Sending an email with a request for an additional activation prooving that you owned the game isn't "begging".

I own CM games since CMBO, the first one. I changed more than a dozen computers since, and I performed, what, maybe two dozen hard disk formats? And I only asked once for CMSF for an activation that I couldn't figure out. If I remember correctly in 24 hours I had the game installed again.

Unless you need to uninstall/install once per week the system can't bother too much.

For detailed info regarding licensing, you can download game manual and read what it says in detail:

Speaking of DRM. I can guarantee you that the only successful DRM out there is project's low popularity.

That is standard business thinking (I see it all the time in high tech businesses - it is usually the wrong way to go). But if you look at the success of some products, it is the openness to a community that made or bolsters their success.

For an example look at the Apple iPhone. Sure it is a good phone and if Apples and a few partners were the only ones developing apps for it it would probably still have some success. But open it up to any developer to join in and you can amp up our success. They can only use the tag line "There's an app for that" because of that openness.

The preceding comment is not meant as a criticism of GaJ but as encouragement for BFC to question their standard business thinking and move towards a better model.

As i said i would happily pay for them if you just had to update some kind of CORE version and get the new engine version applied to all your already purchased CMx2 games (excluding SF maybe).

I very much would get CM:BN, but as I stated I simply don't have the money for all my games. I also am looking to get that new Rainbow six game if the reviews are good, and Im a backer of star citizen. I just can't be spending 200+ on video games, I'll hold of on Normandy and get Bulge when it comes out, hopefully in the next year.

All i try to tell him is this:
If you now buy CMBN and CMFI you pay 55$x2 (games) + 10$x2(v3.0)
Now if the next version of the engine is released maybe with the bulge game you would have "outdated" games as long as don't again pay 10$x2 for the next engine updates.
So then you had spent 150$ on both those games (without addons).

What i try to say is that with the current model it can be expansive to buy older games.
Thats why i would say if you want WW2 wait for the Bulge game or get CMRT.

The important part is that you DONT support the paid engine Updates.
If they want me to pay for them then make a core version (which could also be the demo) and separate the data content from it so people dont have to pay for every game if they want the new engine.
Imagine v4.0 arrives and you have CMRT, CMBN and CMFI...you would have to pay 30$ to update them all...or just spend 10$ for the update of the core version and play CMRT, CMBN and CMFI with engine v4.0.
