  2. The [pal48] z folder is getting stuff sent to it.

    From CMSF2. arabic voices, arabic names, the arabic headdress face scarf uniform mds and textures (modded later), arabic skins, some walls and a different hedgerow (not sure yet).

    From Blimey (and others in readme) CMSF1 IDF mod: initial pack of israeli voices, israeli names

    From other mods I have: flat roof mod I use with CMFI CMAK2, foliage to suit the region.

    I am now gonna create a small [pal48] testing arena scenario. import the modtags. map just a small kibutz looking place. I will call it "Simcha" after an Israeli woman I knew. Then I start to add in forces and put them places with map labels. inch by inch I get there and see stuff change.

    What makes you think that?

    Hey buddy. It is hard to resist I know. Forum SOP: Don't feed trolls.

    I suggest to block people like him. I use the blocking option now for over 20 people on the forum. It just saves stress.

    By the way, BFC UKRAINE THREAD needs no defense. It is of course a mixed bag but all the posts could be lashed together for a damn PhD thesis.

    explain how you do are you making some helmet blanco ?!

    so, I used the same technique for North Koreans grenade pouch with 2 grenades in it.

    BUT each of the grenades was randomly getting a stick grenade bmp image. some were valid but some were alpha layer transparent.

    So, randomly the pouch may contain various combinations of grenades. none, 2, just 1 left or just 1 right

  5. It seems to 99.9% have fallen on deaf ears for my CMFI KOREA 1950 mod. 1 guy stepped forward slightly but nothing has come out yet. But I will try asking the same question for this CMFI PALESTINE 1948 mod.

    Does anybody want to pledge to make a scenario using the mod?

    Here are some ASL scenarios for the 1948 timeframe (a few are later).

    https://www.aslscenarioarchive.com/viewPub.php?id=916

    I will make scenarios but just for H2H play with a buddy.

  6. I have the hard drive space so I just copied and pasted to make ANOTHER CMFI install...dedicated to PALESTINE 1948. It is easier that way for me because the z folder is purely focused to the PALESTINE 1948 mod. On my desktop I get a new shortcut edited to activate the proper .exe as well as a shortcut to open the z folder for PAL48.

    @JM Stuff Hey mon ami, I think you are very good to make or find shortcut icons? Can you please hunt me down a good icon for this mod's desktop shortcut? If you have time. No big hurry sir.

    HEY! I think that will be the modtag. [pal48]

    [pal48] but with other secondary modtags. modtags to me are like Clark Griswold's Christmas lights?

    [pal48] switches on the main breaker to all lights, but a secondary one can change the front window to the Santa OR the Rudolph light.

    In this case maybe switch between Egyptians OR Syrians.

    [pal48 egypt] -or- [pal48 syria]

  7. In 1948 they used a Jewish Sandwich Car APC? I had a few thoughts of what that meant. I was hungry at the moment and had memories of a great deli I used to visit.

    But it was the armor. Thin steel on each side of some wood.

    One thing I enjoy on these modding projects is what I get to learn. I might not get it into the mod but I learned something new.

    Interesting idea! But didn't the Arabs also have a lot of British equipment?

    Not a problem. CMFI has the Indians with British kit. They can be modded to be part of the Arabs.

    ...this may be useful...

    you can maybe use some

    Thanks JM. Next year 2024 I will start hunting down stuff in CMMODS. Edit: poked around and did not see any Israeli mods for CMSF1.

  9. 1948 ARAB-ISRAELI WAR

    aka The War of Jewish Independence.

    I somehow got to thinking about this today. How would I make it as a CM mod? I think I can. I see CMFI as the base. Get the voices for Arabs from CMSF2! Right? Skins and names file. I have this desire to try and create it. I can do it but I would love some participation from the community. Don't PM me yet. Think about it and then post here to discuss what you want to do AND CAN DO for the mod.

    EDIT: Just taking some notes...

    MOD Israeli's are the CMFI BRITISH and other nations too. Lots of options for uniforms. Some guys in shorts in the Kibutz? We see the Sten AND Thompson; Vehicles are diverse, worth a try to mod the history; Arabs are Germans AND Italians, allows diversity of weapons, uniforms and UI elements and voices. I think that allows us to show various aspects of the Arab side of this encounter. There are some ASL scenarios out there that can guide me.

    REVISED BRIEFING

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    1200, 10 July 1950. 500 yards east of Chonui, Korea. The sky is a haze with a light wind from
    the west. It is hot and the ground is very dry.
    ^
    The North Korean 4th Division (commanded by Major General Lee Kwon Mu) with Colonel Choe U
    Silk's 107th Tank Regiment was attacking south from Chonui. Earlier in the morning, the North
    Koreans mauled the U.S. Army's 1st Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment. The battalion held for
    three hours against the North Korean onslaught. But two mistaken attacks, one from USAF F-80
    fighters and the other a bombardment from friendly 155mm artillery were too much for these
    green troops to endure. Soon, the battalion was running in headlong flight to the south despite
    the regimental commander, Colonel Richard W. Stephens' efforts to maintain order. Colonel
    Stephens ordered his 3rd Battalion to regain a low ridge east of Chonui.
    ^
    You are Lieutenant Colonel Jensen and command the 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry Regiment. Your
    men are just off of the soft life doing occupation duty in Japan (The 24th Infantry Division).
    You have 2 understrength rifle companies supported by four M-24 Chaffee light tanks. Some of
    your men are seasoned WW2 veterans but most are the draftees of a nation convinced that all
    future conflict is most likely an atomic war. Ammunition levels reflect the sorry state of
    logistics during the first few weeks of the Korean War!
    ^
    Your enemy are believed to be elements of the North Korean 4th Division with T-34/85 tank
    support from the 107th Tank Regiment. They are dug-in on the ridge and have eyes on areas near
    [or in] your set up zone so deploy carefully!
    ^
    You have 45 minutes to accomplish your mission to attack the ridge and clear it of the enemy.
    Victory is settled by post-battle analysis by the human player. If you have cleared the North
    Koreans off of the ridge, you have won. Any that are still there might be cowered or broken and
    might not count.
    ^
    The 3rd Battalion commander, LTC Pryor, became a non-battle casualty and was unable to carry
    out the order. Colonel Stephens immediately replaced him with LTC Carl C. Jensen. At about
    1200, with the support of four M-24 Chaffee tanks, LTC Jensen launched his counterattack on the
    ridge. A firefight ensued with the defending North Korean infantry on the ridge. M-24 Chaffee
    tanks from the 24th Reconnaissance Company and Company A, 78th Heavy Tank Battalion engaged in
    the first tank-to-tank action of the war. One Chaffee tank achieved a "lucky hit" and killed a
    T-34/85. Two M-24s were knocked out in the process, while at least one M-24 (Rebel's Roost)
    survived the action. It was "no small achievement", but the 3rd battalion soon regained control
    of the ridge. Jensen's victory was short-lived. The next morning, the North Koreans executed a
    nearly perfect text book attack that regained the ridge, killing LTC Jensen in the process.
    (The designer notes contain additional info about this historical encounter...)
