  1. I have been trying to mod the terrain about a dozen of times to add dirt, mud, different types of grass, etc . But it´s all about adding patches to a 2d bitmap. All vanilla doodads (tall grass, wheat, flowers,..etc...) are a work of art and very difficult to improve in appearance, not to say the HUGE amount of modding hours that it would take. I eventually gave up, ...that´s why I take sdp´s Italian theater mod into such a good consideration.
  2. George, working on the 251/10 for two days now, still two more left to have it finished:
  3. Of course sdp, that would be very helpful!...I have been looking for markings and insignias for German vehicles in Italy. Any references would be welcomed too
  4. Sdp, I plan to add decals for Italian theater based vehicles in my future mods, (starting with the Marder III), this may( I hope) increase the enjoyment to your amazing mod.
  5. See what can I do after I finish the Marder, George,
  6. Thanks again guys,...next in the workshop (Work in Progress, still refining weathering...):
  7. Thanks you guys, glad that you like it, ...and now, I think it´s about time for a weathered Marder
  8. I have seen the list of new vehicles in the Commonwealth module,... I have thought: new battles, new units, new maps, new uniforms, ...new mods!
  9. Hummm, so many new vehicles to add dirt to! Great news BFC!
  10. Ok guys, Jpz IV Late it´s finished and uploading as I write, possibly available on Friday 11th. Hope that you like it. Erwin, weathering uniforms it´s something I may try soon, but there are so many grat uniform mods out there that I don´t know where to start,...
  11. Nearly done, the heavily weathered version is depicted below,...I have added three decal options and three weathering levels. It would be possible to have each decal option with different dirt and grime but that would be 9 BMPs for a single vehicle, and file size would be too big for a single mod... I will upload it tomorrow, and...well, you will choose, either dirt levels or decal options ( or even 3 dirt options and all three decals with the same undercoat). Hope that you like it.
  12. Hello skimbo. It takes many hours to do a single mod, but in my case, after many many hours of modding and weathering vehicles I have a huge collection of dirt, dust and grime samples in Photoshop. so it takes less to finish one. But, it´s just a matter of having fun with it, and improving your skills,...I´d say my first mods (Tigers,...etc) took me about 15 hours each, and my latest ones (Stugs,....) 6-10 hours. To the rest of you, comments are being taken into account
  13. I have a question for you guys,...I have been giving the final touches to my next mod, a weathered Jadgpanzer IV Late, and as I was applying layer after layer of dust and grime I thought that I could upload a mod which would allow you to have this vehicle with different levels of dirt at the same time in the game(various BMPs with "light", "Medium" and "Heavy" dirt, or something like that,...) OR a mod with the same amount of dirt in different, random places. What would you prefer?
  14. You know the dealer, the dealer is a man With the love grass in his hand Oh but the pusher is a monster Good God, he's not a natural man... GodDamn ....The Modder...man!!
  15. Hi guys, here I am again,...well, sometimes, : Real life has kept me rather busy lately so modding time has been limited to say the least. Anyway, back to the workshop with the Jadgpanzer IVs, ..work started on the "Late" variant, much left to do yet, I hope to have it finished during this week.
  16. Hi guys, after more than a month without Internet connection and other RL issues I am back. I know which vehicles and guns are missing and you should expect one or two in the following days. Thanks for the interest.
  17. Next mods: A Stug G Pack is almost ready, I need to add decals for several units and will upload them shortly.
  18. Thanks everyone. Pcelt, yes, I plan to do every single CMBN vehicle. I am working on 6 and 8-wheeled german armored vehicles at the moment. Stugs (with decals) will come later.
  19. Thanks Pat! Don´t worry, hehe, I don´t forget the M4A3 105s, they will be modded eventually, I think it´s the only allied vehicle left. At the moment I am working on the SdKfz 234/1 and the Puma, as I need new challenges and motivation after dozens of Shermans...
  20. First of all, thank you all for the interest. Erwin, CMBN has a lighting engine that dramatically affects the colouring of the objects depending not only of the time of the day but the positioning of the object relative to the light source (sun...). I check my mods dozens of times as I advance with weathering and sometimes I have to rotate the vehicles as the sun makes details nearly disappear. Flat surfaces (SdKfzs are a clear example) shine so bright depending on the positioning of the vehicle that even mud and dirt seem to vanish and everything looks yellowish and bright. Shadows, on the other side, make everything so dark that the contrast sometimes is odd. Vehicle appearance changes dramatically in rainy or foggy days, dawn or dusk,...so if I wanted to darken the textures for a sunny midday I would end up with black or very dark brown dirt textures in other conditions. It´s hard to find a balance. In CMx1 days what you "painted" was what you saw ingame. In CMBN, what you paint has to work with the lightning engine and even changes during a battle. I have tried to darken some surfaces only to see that the contrast between side and hull surfaces was too much due to lightning. You could see this "problem" if you start a QB, purchase the vehicles and preview them in different times of the days, sometimes the difference is way too much. I appreciate all recomendations, and I take them into account, believe me, but sometimes it´s too hard to fight against the sun itself The shade between the skirts and the tank it´s 3d dependant. Even if you try to darken those "clear" zones the 3d model puts the textures in a way that makes those zones transparent.
  21. Work goes on now with the SdKfz 251s, this time the "7" variant. Panzer IV Pack has been updated to version 2, with many decals and a lot of dirt.
  22. Sorry if I have not been answering some of the questions lately, no Internet connection at home yet, but still modding anyway. Allied vehicles are almost done (Sherman M4A3_105s are the only ones missing). I have finished the M10 and added some decals too. I am quite happy with the result. I will go on modding the Sd Kfz 251s soon. As for the Stugs I have found a very strange problem: I haven´t been able to see the modified bitmaps ingame, even if I overwrite the originals. The game keeps on showing the stock ones. I will try to find the culprit but it´s a very weird ocurrence. The M10 will be available today. (In the pic, the M10 which famously disabled a Panther on the Place de la Concorde during the liberation of Paris). P.S: I plan to redo the PzIV Mod Pack too, this time, adding many decals.
  23. Still no Internet connection at home,...hard to find decals for my mods,...(may add variants and decals for future version of my mods) Anyway, the M4A1 Shermans are already uploaded.
