  1. So its not a bug but a feature you say? I'm not aware how it was in reality, but from the change log thread: So the fix is give ALL pioneers assault gun uniforms and no gear? At the very least they should hav ammo pouches, though. These are Panzer-Lehr-Division guys btw.
  2. Thats clearly a bug and has to be fixed in a patch. Somewhere they said the problem doesn't exist anymore (in 1.01 in every squad there were two guys like this), but it just got worse It's also true for WSS engineers btw.
  3. It would be awesome to have the TOEs fully customizable for mission builders. So one could add any company of any type by will and also have every type of squad selectable under Specialist teams for instance
  4. You have to name the texture files like this: german-uniform-waffenss-ankle-boots 2, with the number in the end being any number greater than 1. For LW: german-luftwaffe-cammo-uniform 3 (greater or equal 3).
  5. But that means that each unit gets different boni from superior HQs right? Even though they wouldn't be on map. You'd have to at least pay attention that every HQ unit gets the same stats.
  6. It is Erbsenmuster, or Pea Dot pattern. For the helmet cover there are two versions, one Platanen and the other Eichenlaub or oak leaf, although it's missing the brown dots, which were part of this pattern. In case you mean the tank crews, thats oddly oak leaf pattern, too (I believe, not totally sure).
  7. Do you have any source for that? The unit with the extra stuff would have been III./SS-PzGrenReg 2, but I can't anything that states it had 5 companies total.
  8. I've been comparing the ingame German TOEs with the Zetterling OOBs for most of the German divisions in Normandy and there are some inconsistencies I've found. Now I am not saying that Zetterling is 100% correct in every single case since I don't know, but I'd like to know why the CMBN TOEs are the way they are. 1.) SS armored Panzergrenadier Batallion In the module this units has 5 companies. 4 armored infantry companies and one heavy weapons company. According to Zetterling not a single mechanized battalion in a Waffen-SS division had 5 companies, but always 3 inf and 1 heavy coy. I've also never heard of a German infantry batallion with 5 companies. 2.) WH & SS Panzer Aufklärung Batallion (Recon Bn) They have 4 companies ingame. 2x Armored car coy 1x Armored infantry coy 1x Heavy weapons coy According to Zetterling there was only one Pz Division in Normandy with 4 companies (the 116th), every other had a recon batallion 5, the 4th being another infantry coy. Those are the ones I'd consider incorrect. There a few more issues where a formation is lacking customizability to reflect the many many different variations in German units (for instance you can't make every Pioneer company an armored one to get the Panzer Lehr Pioneer batallion), but that is understandable, since it would be one hell of work adding all the different compositions.
  9. SS vehicles came from the same factories as the Heer vehicles, so basecolour is also the same. And camo schemes were applied by the troops themselves, anyways. But license plates would be necessary for some correctnes indeed.
  10. Texture is coming along nicely I think, takes forever though. And still a lot to do. I've tried fixing the Zeltbahn-bug, but it seems this is something only BF can do!
  11. okay, had nothing to do with the module, but with my computer
  12. Also, the SS get Wehrmacht equipment, allthough there is seperate and correct textures in the module, it just doesn't get applied. Wish I'd know how to activate them.
  13. Has anyone encountered this as well? From time to time ESC to unpause or exit 3D preview in the editor doesn't work. Might have something to do with Alt-Tabbing to desktop. PC version of the game.
  14. Yeah, thats the shadows missing mostly. I wanted to make a clean version with the original camo pattern in its true colors before altering it. I've also managed to make the texture show up ingame, but boy, what an elaborate work texture modding is  Even the original textures don't align perfectly with the 3D model
  15. Could someone with some modding experience help me on this one? Since the vanilla version of CW only contains one (ONE!) texture for the unit in Normandy with the greatest uniform variation I decided I'd try making some on my own. This is how far I've got (have to paint the camo pattern by hand ) Obviously not done yet (no shadows, details, etc.), still I wanted to load it up to see how it looks ingame. But all the textures I DIDN'T change don't get displayed in the game. I really don't understand why, since I didn't change anything on them (like the trousers or the straps). They turn out just invisible.
  16. Noticed that too, also, when you put any old German tank next to it you notice the KT is lacking some sort of texture map which gives it some sheen, which all other tanks ingame have.
  17. Essentially yes. Probably the church, too.
  18. It's an mostly urban battle. I'm planning it to be part of a small completely fictional campaign where Overlord happens in the Pas de Calais area (kinda got the idea from "Sie Kommen"). The town is supposed to be Gravelines, although I took complete creative liberty on that one. Enemy will be German LW infantery. Since its part of a campaign I'm not planning for much balance though.
  19. I've noticed that the WSS soldiers in the module get the old (and wrong) Wehrmacht Zeltbahn (the rolled up camo tents on their back), yet there are correct textures included in the texture files, they just don't get applied.
  20. So I can't get it yet because I have no desire to get a disc (I don't have one for the original game either)? This is outrageous! I demand satisfaction!
  21. Ok, I've done some reading and it seems the German's themselves have found out the skirts were ineffective against shaped charges. I guess I just couldn't imagine how mesh wire skirts could be meant to defeat anything else but a HEAT rocket or why the Russians would put improvised mesh cover on some of their tanks.
  22. Well originally they were meant to stop ATR rounds, but why did the Germans put Thoma skirts on the very late Pzkpfw IV Ausf. J? http://panzerivtheworkhorse.devhub.com/blog/562020-thoma-schilde/ Obviously those wouldn't be able to stop ATR rounds anymore.
