Oh man, that's embarrassing. Apparently it is a Freudian slip - I lust after ammunition. I mean "Just" and "ammo".

Spacebar for play/pause
A Canadian Cat replied to poesel's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
And <shift>ESC pauses playback without the "Paused" noticed appearing on screen. Very useful for screen shots. -

Wow 5 hours later and no sign of them on CM Mods Warehouse. Is the upload still OK? -
What ever happened to 'Fionn'?

Excellent, thanks for answer - and the excellent work

Did I miss something here? According to your profile you have posted three times which means the "before" you are talking about is literately yesterday. Unless, as I say, I am missing something. Lust to set your expectations if BFC decide what you are asking for is the right way to go, the earliest you can hope to see a change is the next patch and it might be longer than that. Not long ago they had a defect that broke PBEM quick battles and the fix was just in the next patch. I cannot imagine that amo and weapon distribution would rate a super fast turn around hot fix if that did not. Plus, you may or may not get an indication that they agree with what you are asking at all.

Downloaded and ready go to - Thanks. One question will these work for CMFI - GL as well or are their tweaks that need to be done first?

Assualting Infantry Frustratingly Difficult
A Canadian Cat replied to Pewpewchewchew's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Oh, no, they can cause Blue on Blue casualties for sure. I once had a grenade thrower killed while on the back swing. The grenade dropped and killed a buddy when it went off. Not really sure they seem to throw them further than I would have thought. Of course considering they can kill the thrower there is added motivation to throw. Yep. Definitly through and over hedge rows and low walls not sure if I have seen them be thrown over high walls. I do seem to remember a thread about that recently and they were being thrown over the high wall. -

White Manor AAR: c3k as ALLIES
A Canadian Cat replied to c3k's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Oh good this looks like a very entertaining battle and write up - nice. Allow me to play devils advocate for ya. I'll be the voice saying "Slow down, you are attacking too much" See, you own men are worried about your leadership. Yes, you have the green young guys all fired up but the crusty old Sargent knows what is coming. He knows your plan is reckless and the young guys are annoying him. So, slow down do this right and bring your boys home. -
Err,...."Unproductive" Penetration (?)
A Canadian Cat replied to Bemused's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Oh man I have not seen crews do a fake out that way before I do not think that was a mistake, you should take advantage when you can. To bad it did not work out for ya. -
Fun and Games - challenge and the gamer
A Canadian Cat replied to Paper Tiger's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Agree with both you on that, I would add having fun even when you are losing is important too - but that is usually our own responsibility rather than the game's. So true, the more I play the more I learn and the more fun I have. Echoing Some of PTs sentiment about finding your self able to win handily at chess against more casual players (not about chess - I suck at that) but I have found that since I am playing CM more and have been, purposefully, playing against better players my skills in the game are out stripping my RL friends who introduced me to this game. I am sad to report that one is probably not going to make the transition to CM2 (he plays way to much Eve Online) and the other keeps getting the tar beat out of him. I'm not going to hold back but I will have to start stacking the deck in their favour. That is one of the nice things about CM. If you do have a skill imbalance, between players, you can tweak the points in a QB or pick an unbalanced scenario or tweak on yourself. -
Wow, did you have to do a lot of work on your map to get this. From memory I recognized it right away. Do you have a link to the original? Looking on my HD now...

Surviving in a Kübel vs. 251/1
A Canadian Cat replied to poesel's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Well you could also conclude that the Kübels are offering too much protection instead of the 251 offer too little. -

An excellent idea. I am looking forward to reading about setting up and testing AI plans. I am currently struggling with that at the moment. Well actually I have put it aside for a while but will get back to it. -
Gustav Kiwi Soldiers scenario: i need help
A Canadian Cat replied to BDW's topic in Combat Mission Fortress Italy
Now that is a cool idea: setup the movement and area fire orders before the smoke mission and hold everything on pause. Then once the smoke is in place let them go. Very cool. I did not think there was anyway to get guys to fire into smoke. I will have to try this for sure. -
Oh, interesting. Sounds like the number of uniform variants is established by the number of British uniforms and then the Canadian and Polish are overrides for the particular numbered British uniform. As opposed to each of the three nationalities having their own list of uniforms. So that means if someone does a British only uniform mod that creates more varieties of skins this issue will be triggered. Good to know - only use Vein's mods 'cause he has this all worked out.

Ahh, the difference between "known unknowns" and "unknown unknowns" Like it would suck if our guys had to wait behind the hill while the comm lines were layed to the FO who then had to call in the artillery strike. Only to find out the artillery are already busy doing something else and will only become available again in an hour or two. Smoke'em if you've got'em. We are going to be here a while.

Indeed, I picked a few of those up "by mistake" - I was going for the quad .50cal and miss read. But I was still pretty happy the auto cannon 37mm was really cool. LOL I can believe that - here in Ontario we grow them big, mean and angry - you need more than some steal plating to keep them from biting
-
Are you saying that if you make three British skin variants and four Canadian variants you end up seeing the three British plus the fourth Canadian version in game on British soldiers? Sounds like a bug to me. Perhaps not to serious, but it certainly does not seem like intended behaviour.
