  1. Really? I've really never seen the UGL's do much in my experience. Of course I usually don't let my rifle platoons do much work unless its a light infantry company. I'm glad you find them useful though, maybe some of your luck will rub off on me
  2. As a player I'd love to get my hands on this thing ASAP, but I'm sure having playtesters will only improve the game. After all, I wouldn't want to spend all that time creating such an excellent map just to have the mission be bugged. Maybe you could just release the map and wait for the mission to be released after some playtesting. This is just my opinion anyway.
  3. I'd have to agree with you on that one, I find that I usually stick to the same techniques regardless of the specific situation. I tend to keep my guys around 40-50 meters back in wooded area, 25-30 in urban, and 60-75 in light cover. This is all METT-TC dependent though, I'm just giving you my average distance.
  4. I tend to to use the, "one up, two back" technique when I'm advancing. It seems to me like putting two up limits your flexibility dramatically and can cause unnecessary casualties. I use this pretty much regardless of the nationality (well except for the Syrians) and it works for me pretty well. In US army doctrine the "one up, two back" is called travelling overwatch and is used when contact is possible. Playing the game however, I find that bounding overwatch can be a bit slow when you're trying to advance up a road and you haven't made contact which is why i tend to stick with travelling overwatch instead.
  5. I've tried looking for the bases mod in the repository and I can't find it. Is it available yet?
  6. If I remember correctly I also took a few casualties in that mission. Did you take any in the missions before? I know the casualty limit is high, but i don't remember it being that high.
  7. There are five missions in that particular campaign. I don't know what happened to your playthrough though. Did you take too many casualties?
  8. Any ETA on this mod? I really want to get my hands on it
  9. Been looking around and I've found a pretty nice looking desert cammo Fennek if you're interesting in adding it to the list http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bundeswehr_Fennek_of_the_Provincial_Reconstruction_Team_Feyzabad.jpg
  10. Downloading now, hopefully I can complete it within the week
  11. I don't think it is. I have seen guys run away to never come back. I did notice however that they can survive collapsed buildings more frequently than they used to. I pounded a two story building with 155mm arty for a whole minute with HE rounds and the building collapsed. Even after the building collapsed HE rounds were still flying in there. Everybody should have died, right? Well it turns out they had a tornado shelter or something in there because as soon as I moved up a Marder to cover my advancing infatry and enemy RPG launched out and killed it. It seems a bid ridiculous that anything could survive the pounding taken by those guys.
  12. Really? snake_eye's previous campaign included a very interesting assault on a dam, one of my favorites really.
  13. I've seen them bug out, but never return to their old positions.
  14. Great, I'm really looking forward to this. Your El Derjine Campaign was probably my favorite campaign in this series and I'm sure this scenairo will be just a great as the ones included in your campaign. Thanks for your hard work and I can't wait to play this.
  15. It wasn't a bad idea, but you already have to walk a km to the objective. To be honest though, I really liked the slower pace of the mission, it was just a bit frustrating due to my own errors at the end when I tried to rush them to Hugel 2. And they were trying to attack hill one. Maybe if the map was expanded a bit to show the back of Hugel 1 they could sneak around there, but the way they went left them exposed to pretty much the entire company. And I probably will start playing as the red forces in the next few days, it'd make an interesting change
  16. So I just finished this scenario and it was a very interesting battle. I played it WeGo on Elite difficulty. I've never played a scenario in the mountains before, so it was a very different experience. One thing I did noticed was that you turned the fitness level on my troops down a bit. It seemed like I could barely run them without tiring them out. Is that because of the mountains? Just curious really. It did make my playing pace much slower, it took 15 minutes to get my men into position for the attack. The UnCon counterattack seemed kinda weak to me though, they just ran up the side of the hill allowing my forces to direct their fire on them. Maybe a stealthier approach would work better. Overall though, a very nice scenario, I managed a tactical victory with every objective secured except for Hugel #2. 3 killed, 9 wounded, and two Fuchs destroyed. I should have done much better, but I tried to rush to secure Hugel #2 before time ran out. Anyway, thanks for the great scenario, I'll definitely be playing it again.
  17. It seems that the german TAC's speak english to German tornado's. Has anybody else noticed this?
  18. Just downloaded this map about an hour ago and I'm currently moving my troops into their ORP's to jump off the attack. The first thing I noticed was the quality of the map. Very well designed, it seems like there are some promising potential approach points. I shall post more as I play this scenario through
  19. Haha, just made my week:D Thanks for your hard work Moon
  20. No problem, thanks for taking the time to fix it. It takes truly a unique game company that reads and responds to bugs and changes posted on a forum and it makes having this series that much better. Thanks for sticking with us
  21. Yes, and also the troops talking to one another in the field. I beleive you collaborated with George MC for the Brit one.
  22. I just ran some tests and I noticed it affected every single Syrian infantry squad leader I could find. Good spotting mate.
  23. Are there any chances that you'll be making another one of your fantastic chatter mods for the new Nato module? They truly are one of my favorite aspects of the game, as I'm sure they are to many others. Any updates would be great, thanks
  24. I'm pretty sure its one of the stand alone missions, though I can't remember which one.
