  1. Personally I wish they'd spent a lot less time on graphics. Any time spent on graphics is time taken away from time spent on gameplay features, like armor cover arc, better AI, less LOS issues, pause for RT, tcp-ip wego, etc etc etc Who plays wargames for graphics? And I actually prefer the new command and control indicators, makes sense for this engine.
  2. You never fail to be completely rude to anyone who disagrees with the direction BFC has taken. As a beta tester that's honestly pretty pathetic. I know most of you on here are NOT 16 year old kids either so there's no excuse really. And to the OP I agree completely with your sentiment. BFC does have super limited resources though and has to focus on more critical gameplay issues first... I'm hopeful that wego tcp-ip or some form of pause for RT will make it in eventually in a module.
  3. The sheer amount of MKB42s and AVT40s in the game now is a joke. I'm putting this down until the modders fix it. So much for only 1 or 2 of these weapons being available TWI... At least BFC still give a crap about realism even if they won't put in any modern multiplayer options .
  4. Sounds like a good basis for a new CM game. United States of America vs. United States of Europe vs. China. Sounds like fun!
  5. Hahaha. *saved* BTW what formations will be seeing for the German side for the commonwealth module? I know BFC has posted this info but I'm having trouble finding it... thanks
  6. Nice resource someone posted over at AH forums. http://www.wwiidaybyday.com/kstn/kstnmain.htm
  7. There's no wego tcp-ip in CMBN  I guess you can play via dropbox though. Bit of a hassle, but better than PBEM in my book. GAJ are there significant amounts of players playing CMBN wego via dropbox or other similar programs at webob? Cause that's all I play for both CMx1 and CMx2. I can't stand the pace of PBEM.
  8. join via steam. Add a bunch of people in the RO2 group and join through them. I was crashing on the server browser constantly at first so I used that and it worked fine. P.S. Grain Elevator is insaneeee.
  9. I'm looking for info on the makeup of your average infantry squad+platoon+company at Stalingrad from the different formations present there (in terms of armament), anyone know where I can find this info? thanks
  10. What distance are foxholes spotted at? Are they always spotted the same distance away or does weather etc. affect it, if so how much?
  11. hehe... im 23. know one other kid who plays cm... history major too so it makes sense.
  12. What if I want a PPSh just cause I like WW2 stuff? (and no just owning it isn't good enough I want to shoot it) Gun control like any other form of prohibition is a bad idea. (beyond obvious stuff like no using your gun within city limits etc., no guns in bars, etc.) In Switzerland you've got people with AT launchers in their basement (no joke I know a guy who used to... he's not in the militia anymore though)... not to mention all the assault rifles. Yet they have very few issues with gun violence. Poverty, social inequality, racism, etc. are the problem in the US. I can't speak about Australia but I do know you guys have ridiculous video game laws... no "Mature" rating from what I remember, which is pretty stupid because it basically just forces people to pirate the stuff. Making something illegal =/= making it go away. Prohibition of anything is always counter-productive. You just create a black market and stir up interest in whatever was outlawed.
  13. Nobody said the republicans have a monopoly on stupidity. They just seem to usually have more well publicized and popular ignoramuses. At least in the last 10 years or so.
  14. This is a really cool indie game I stumbled on. Sort of like if you took Rainbow Six's "planning phase" and made it into a full fledged game and threw in some Jagged Alliance/X-com. It's got a nice campaign mode with a cyberpunk storyline, but the real highlight is the very robust multiplayer, which has a ladder, matchmaking etc. Anyways, here's a pretty exhaustive review: anybody who likes turn based tactics games would probably enjoy it.
  15. BAHAHAHAHA!!! Aw man, unreal. I wish this was a Monty Python skit instead of our leaders in real life . I dunno how that woman got elected to congress. I dunno why but it seems like we're the only country that consistently has people who are just simply unintelligent in positions of power high up the food chain. Not talking about her politics either, she's just dumb. Would be just as scary if she was an evil commie . This is old news but in case you haven't heard it... prank phone call to Sarah Palin by two Canadian DJs, one of whom poses as Sarkozy:
  16. Thought this was some of the best WW2 footage I've ever seen. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbKLzVabhOg
  17. Hmmm... them taking the turn based action/movement point part out is disturbing... We'll see though. I love tactical squad based games like JA and Silent Storm. (panzerkleins sucked though!) thanks for posting .
  18. Ya I should add that I do actually believe in socialized medicine in the European style (so I guess I'm a... leftist liberterian? ) but I can understand gunnergoz and people like him not wanting to help pay for the rehabilitation of "crackheads" or what have you. I like your idea diesel of having multiple levels of healthcare, that makes sense to me. You can pay more into the system, and in return you have higher coverage, and likewise you can pay less into the system (which gunnergoz would do presumably) and have less coverage, but also don't have to pay for others' health issues as much. Or perhaps even a system where you can pay for absolutely zero coverage, and not have to pay anything into it. I imagine a lot of Americans would go that route... at least until a relative got a serious disease and they ended up having to pay tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat it. I've never thought about that before but that does seem like a great idea. Regardless, the expense of hunting down and incarcerating drug offenders is much higher than the cost of education systems to help people avoid the hard stuff (and that's without even going into the ethics of the whole thing). And I'm not talking about something like DARE (total failure)... the first thing I thought when I smoked that first joint was... "wow... the government had the nerve to lie to me as an innocent 5th grader???" One thing I gotta say... this is out of the blue but... I've never understood how the Evangelical Christian right wing base could be so adamantly against healthcare. I guess they missed that "And if anyone would sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well." part of the bible. Or the blatant socialist activities the early Christians engaged in as described in Acts. Oh well. It's funny, my parents know some missionaries in Japan and they say that there, if you're an Evangelical Christian, it's assumed that you are a socialist . Last post, promise . If anyone wants to flame me or whatever just feel free to PM me .
